Talents: Marcus loves doing two things, smoking and playing guitar. Despite this he has found time to perfect his cooking skills.
Equipment: Marcus wears two rings on his right hand, given to him by two different people, people he loved and lost. He never leaves home without his digivice, a packet of cigarettes, his silver zippo (given to him by his father) & a guitar in a case (he's never sure when he'll get the urge to play).
Back story: Marcus grew up in a loving family. When he was 3 his parents sat him down and explained he was getting a sibling. At the time he hated the idea of sharing his family, but the moment he laid eyes on his younger brother all that faded away. His brother was a sickly child and needed a lot of care and attention, which he got from Marcus and their mother. Marcus' father was an ideal role model, hard working, patient and strong. Unfortunately for the family not all good things can last. Marcus' mother died in an accident when he was 8. His father did his best to be there for them but Marcus was expected to look after his sickly younger brother while he worked. After the loss of their mother, Marcus' brother began to grow distant and withdrew into himself. Marcus did his best to reach out to him but knew he was getting nowhere. At the same time his Father began to expect more and more from the both of them.
By the age of 13 Marcus had grown accustomed to their new life style. His father expected all work to be done, the house to be tidy and breakfast before he went off to work, which Marcus would make. His brother would help as much as he could but was becoming more sickly by the week. One day while Marcus was making breakfast for the family his father had had enough. He burst out in a fit of rage, shouting at his brother to "Work harder" and "Try more". This only went to push the two further apart.
When Marcus turned 18 he went off to university. On the day he was to leave his brother gave him a ring. Marcus was surprised when his brother admitted he had been working an evening shift after school rather than go to prep classes to afford this ring. He didn't seem to care he was falling behind his classmates, "This is so you don't forget us. I mean- Ha! Like you would, but... We're only dragging you down."
One day when Marcus was 20 he was called out of a class to receive an important phone call, it was his father. The two cried over the phone for hours, his brother had finally pushed his limits, the doctors said it was due to an increase in stress brought on by his fathers ever growing expectations. Regardless of this Marcus blames himself for not being there to help his brother, an oath he made at his mothers grave.
Marcus dropped out of school a few weeks later, not being able to focus. He returned home and did his best to look after the house while his father worked. It was around this time he began smoking, surprisingly so did his father.
A year and a half later, things had started to feel normal again, the only differences was he didn't play guitar anymore. He made breakfast, his father would come down and they'd eat together, then go out to smoke. His father would finish his cigarette before him and leave for work without a word. Marcus would finish up cleaning the house, then go into his room and play guitar.
One night during dinner his father got up mid meal and went into his room. He came back with a little box, "This is a very special box.... It's.. Well. Your mother and I bought two of these, one for you and the other for your brother." He raised his hand to show the ring he wore on his right hand. "I started wearing your brother's when he.... To remind myself that everyone has limits. They were meant to be given to each of you when you graduated, but, well.. I think you should have it now." That same night Marcus sat in-front of his computer looking at old photos of his family cradling his guitar case, when suddenly all power went off. No more than 2 minutes went by before a message appeared on his screen. Help Me. Before he had a chance to wonder what it meant he was sucked into his computer and thrown into the digital world.
