Steve stood on the deck of a large boat or rather a yacht, he and a few other's were going to check out an island that was believed to belong to Hydra. He of course wasn't planning to sit back and let someone else deal with them, he decided he'd go with whoever else Fury thought needed to go along. There was himself, Thor which was always welcomed to have another teammate there, a newly made shield agent and a Doc of quite a few trades along with the ship captain and a few of his crew.

Wearing a fitted blue shirt that was dark, blue faded jeans, brown boots and a ball cap he walked along the top of the boat taking in the sight of all the ocean "Captain say's we'll be able to get closer to the island soon but that he'd feel better if we anchored further away so the boat wont get damaged" he said noticing he wasn't alone on deck. Being out of the city and away from some of the chaos but still taking care of hydra, he rather enjoyed the little breather they got between missions, it allowed for a bit of R n' R as well as a time to go over plans and how they planned to take the island, worst and best case scenarios; However he did notice a few smaller islands scattered around but some seemed less like islands and more like shallower water which you could nearly walk along through the water.

Abigail was below decks in her rather small room, she checked her bags making sure she had medical supplies, weapons, a sat phone, and that the medium sized bag wasn't damaged nor the bag it was connected too. Both bags were sealed and the smaller of the two water proof, the bigger bag had a few clothes and supplies but wasn't as important in her opinion; When she finished looking it over she looked out the small round window seeing the partially cloudy sky and sighed while leaning closer to the window seeing some of an island barely as she peered out.

Growing up she'd taken after her parents, staying neat and organized if at all possible, always being ready and having a few plans ahead of time. She'd lived in Europe for awhile then came to America which she loves for the most part and finds other things weird. Finding out how dangerous the world was she was pulled into a new direction which was Shield who after laying out a few demands decided to work with them, her main demand being her and one of her friends have a clinic for people in New York which would be funded in exchange for her company and being taken wherever needed "at least this should be more calm then what they usually have me doing" she said to herself before grabbing her back pack and sliding it over a shoulder as she headed to the upper deck.

Once up top though the captain of the ship seemed a little uneasy as the boat started to sway a bit more "i thought this wasn't your first rodeo" she spoke up while holding onto a ledge, her eye's looked up seeing the captain "it seem's the sea is getting rough... everyone should get below and hold on, if this keeps up we'll have to either pick up speed or turn back to clearer waters" the man explained.

SAMANTHA APRILE && THOR ODINSON
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Inducted into the Avengers wasn't a drastic career change, but it was still a surprising turn of events. For the longest time, she had worked as shield agent, mostly as a spy—her unique mutation allowed for her to move around unnoticed behind enemy lines without risking her life or the lives of others. When SHIELD fell, she had been temporarily out of work until Nick Fury got in touch with her again. They needed help taking down a final Hydra base, and he thought she was qualified to work alongside the Avengers. It was kind of an honor, actually, to be considered for such a position. Combined with the fact she'd have a paycheck again, and well, Samantha couldn't say no. In fact, she gave a very enthusiastic yes and was told where to meet up to officially join the team.

Now, she stood on the deck of a boat, watching the water as they headed for an island thought to contain the final base in a long battle. The others were mulling about, but she didn't pay them much attention—instead she was focused on what she could hear in the water. Given her mutation, Sam could understand most animals means of communication; she couldn't speak it, but she knew essentially what they were saying to each other. The sounds of whales carried over distances, and could even echo above water if she listened closely enough, or if they breached the surface. They had passed a pod of orca not long ago, and she found their calls to soothe her jittery nerves.

Once everyone was below deck, as the captain ordered, Samantha sighed, looking over the map they had. It was crude, at best. "I told you we should have taken a quinjet," she chimed under her breath to Steve, who was currently sitting to her left.

                              -

Thor stood near the front of the boat, alone, staring off into the distance as he awaited their arrival. He found his thoughts travelling back to Jane. A woman he had grown to love over the past few years who had just recently ended their relationship. Her reasoning was that she couldn't take the distance, which he could understand to some extent. Due to the fact that he had multiple jobs (working as an Avenger on Earth and a ruler in Asgard), spare time was hard to come by, and because of that, he couldn't visit Jane as often as he would opt for. Stark's Ultron global "defence" program didn't make things any less strenuous, either. However, after Ultron had been defeated and Midgard was safe and out of harm's way, Thor travelled back to Asgard to share the exciting news and celebrate - only to have Fury request the presence of him yet again. He would have respectfully declined if he hadn't sounded so urgent.

From what he had gathered from the mission briefing, this was the last major Hydra base after a tedious long lasted battle. For three years the Avengers had been successfully infiltrating Hydra bases around the world and he was relieved that it was finally coming to an end. He knew that there were a perilous few days (possibly even weeks) ahead of them, though, as Hydra would not go down without a fight.

He'd been with the ship's captain when the storm had started; just a few minutes after everyone had gone below deck. Even with his stature, Thor couldn't remain upright as the ship was thrown to its side, papers fluttering over him as they were thrown from the table. Almost immediately, he was back on his feet, his arm thrown over the captain's shoulders to steady him as they made their way onto the deck. It hadn't been easy, with the ship twisting and turning at every second. If he had to be honest, Thor had no idea how they'd managed to make it onto the deck.

An angry shudder ran through the ship, throwing Thor off balance. As he straightened himself, his eyes widened, watching one end of the ship separate from the other. The waves carried it away, much too far to reach even for him, and he prayed that everyone had made it to this side of the ship before it had been torn by the storm. "Is everyone accounted for?!" he bellowed over the roar of the wind. Thor looked around, but the ship gave another jolt, starting to tilt to one side again.

Steve eyed the map on the little rounded table and nodded a little before blinking and bringing his attention to the brunette beside him "yes... but Fury said this would be better, and more relaxing... under the radar" he explained to her then looked up around the room. The table had seating built in on one side of the room the other was the kitchen space and another little table then it broke up into little sections for sleeping and storage for probably a few weeks or month or so "Fury said sail, so we sail" he finished up, he was pretty good at giving and getting orders.

Steve suddenly looked up hearing the creaking of the ship and tearing coming over the ship during the now strong storm raging on outside the ship, the sea no doubt letting them know they're unwanted but how it came so fast didn't sit right with him. Quickly he leaned over the woman next to him Samantha making sure she was alright as the rough tides thrashed the boat around making sure the woman was alright or at least a bit safer "you okay?" he asked looking down at her as he pulled away a little.

Abigail had headed below and made her way to her room not finding the strategy talk fascinating, but from the sudden angry sound coming over the boat and she was sent flying over her small room hitting the wall then she pushed against the wall forcing herself to stand she reached for the door and opened it but fell back hitting another wall hard "what the hell?" she questioned and turned to push up against the wall seeing the ocean's surface then the water and her eye's widened "get up Abby" she beckoned to herself as she hurriedly and carefully climbed up to the door and opened it then pulled herself up a little poking her head out as a wave crashed against the make shift boat, she saw the other part and groaned "seriously" she whined to herself.

Abby watched as the boat with the rest of the crew started to tilt keeping everyone inside the boat for the time being, another wave splashed and that's when she heard someone calling out, yelling for help. Climbing out she maneuvered down and looked through the one and a half rooms that was there other then hers, she found the man and they were thrashed around the boat side causing a few scrapes or bruises that were minor "is there an inflatable b--" the sound of cracking thundered over her question and she pulled back to a wall and soon went underwater momentarily.

SAMANTHA APRILE && THOR ODINSON
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The storm had come on so suddenly and without any warning. As a wave slammed into the side of the ship it sent her hurdling against the metal wall of the corridor. Samantha let out a small cry as she lost her balance thrown against the wall then to the ground. It was hard to keep her footing as she stood once more, balancing herself against the wall. "I-I'm fine," she answered Steve, who was leaning over her now. Everyone was sent into panic mode and hurrying up to the deck. Regaining her bearings she started down the corridor towards the stairs. She made it to the stairs grasping the railing as the next wave hit. She held fast, breathing heavily by this point. Her brunette hair falling out of the bun she’d had it pulled back in. Pulling herself up the rickety metal stairs, she made it up to the deck with Steve hopefully following close behind her.

The wind blew the rain so hard that it hurt as it pelted her skin. Samantha made her way towards the men and women who had gathered on the ship’s deck as the ship lurched again. Suddenly the screeching sound of metal ripping apart filled her ears. Sam turned her eyes growing wide as she saw the ship literally tearing into two. Hearing Thor's voice over the howling winds she turned and shook her head, there was no way that the entire crew was up there. It was such a small gathering of people and she didn’t see Agent Swan among different crew members that she had met throughout the journey.

Needless to say as the ship lurched again she was beginning to regret agreeing to go on this mission. As the ship tilted dangerously to the side Samantha found herself tossed much like the others. She crashed into Steve, bringing her blue eyes up ready to apologize. The apology would have to wait though because it became quite evident that the ship was sinking, and it was sinking fast. The decision was made for those on deck to try and make it to the surviving lifeboats. Everything was happening so fast, soon Samantha found herself in one of the lifeboats alongside Steve.

                              -

The constant turning of the ship made it difficult to keep his balance, but Thor managed to find a steady hold against the railing of the ship. He gritted his teeth as he saw several crew members and a number of agents go overboard, disappearing into the darkness of the waves. One of them being Agent Swan, a woman that they would need if they were to survive the storm. She was the only doctor on board and they wouldn't survive a day without her if they were to make it to the island alive.

If only he could save them all.

Without a moments hesitation, Thor dove into the crashing waves and focused his sight on the woman who was frantically trying to swim towards the waters surface. He reached for her, firmly grabbing ahold of her arm, and began to swim with her up towards one of the wooden lifeboats - flimsy-looking little things that Thor knew weren't going to stand up against the thralls of the storm. Still, they had very little choice, didn't they? He hoisted the young woman up into the raft first and pulled himself up, his clothes clinging to his body like a second skin.

A number of the lifeboats had disappeared beneath the waves almost the second they were lowered, and Thor could feel his chest tightening at the loss of life. He'd been in a several wars; he'd experience loss worse than he could put into words--but even the loss of near-strangers was difficult. He glanced at the woman beside him. "Are you alright, doctor?"

Steve was glad she seemed alright enough to stand and wasn't to badly shaken up, he quickly got up making sure everyone was alright when he noticed the water seeping in while the boat angrily ripped and sounded like a scary torchered victim from the storm. He noticed they didn't have everyone and quickly instructed people to get into boats while gathering their bags making sure to keep anything important safe if possible, once the first life boat was loaded up it dropped into the water then the second and that one he made sure had the last of the people on it.

Looking back he climbed onto into the boat making sure to tie their things to the boat then themselves and dropped it knowing Thor wouldn't be to far behind, with Mijor he would be a bit safer in the sky if he had trouble locating them. And almost like clock work Steve blinked the water from his face seeing Thor pulling up the blond woman, Steve handed the rope to his Asgardian friend to have him tie them off, at least this way they'd stay on the life boat or at least together "i hope we're close enough to get to the island from here" he spoke up then eye'd the Doctor then Samantha "you both alright?" he asked, he knew that him and Thor weren't as bent out of shape as the others from the storm but he did hate seeing it happen suddenly "what do you think brought it on?" he asked shouting to the others a little.

-------

Steve pushed up and shook his head a little as he looked around seeing a sandy beach, in the distance he saw most likely the doc standing up, purple and dark blue could barely be made out. He sat up and noticed the partially thin rope from him leading to a chunk of the life boat and quickly leaned closer and pulled the piece off seeing the bags he hit the sand angrily though he was relieved they had their things. The young man stood up and looked around curiously before spotting Samantha on some rocks and ran the several feet over to her "Agent Aprile!" he shouted as he got closer, stopping when he got closer and slowly maneuvered over the rocks to carefully roll her over onto her back or side before picking her up princess/bridal style. After making sure she was safely in his arms he got back to the sand and set her down further up "hey... you alright?" he asked as he gently shook her then lightly checked her for a pulse wondering if he'd have to give cpr or maybe if she was just out cold in which finding a place to hold up would be best.

Abigail broke the surface for a moment for air then the sea pulled her down and she struggled again, a few more violent waves thrashing around and she could already tell it wouldn't be much longer she'd be able to hold her breath. Suddenly she was pulled up and gasped for air as she was pulled over to a boat where she was leaned over and panting before hearing if she was alright and nodding "y-yes thank you...." she assured him and watched as he was handed a rope, her eye's looked up at him and smiled a little till she needed to grip the edge as it shook; her backpack had taken a little water too and had been the thing keeping her just out of reach of the surface but half of it was important.

Abby glanced out at the water to her left and some of the ship behind Steve and Sam sinking slowly as it thrashed around, looking too the other side of the boat she saw the island and motioned to it "it's getting closer right?" she asked then brought her hand up as she brushed some of her hair that stuck to her face back, her purple tank top was sticking to her and her pants felt a bit heavier from the water they soaked up. Her blue eye's looked around the life boat then furrowed "where's everyone else?" she asked curiously, Steve explained the other life boats and hoping they'd made it to safer water or an island causing her to nod as a small wave splashed at them "do we have anything to paddle us closer with or anything?" she asked as she glanced around the boat them up seeing a slightly larger wave which hit the sinking boat first but rolled closer to them "g-guys" she called out to them and shook her head worried about the storm much more now as it seemed angrier somehow "hold on to something!" she shouted as the wave came down on the little boat they were in.

----------
Slowly she started to stir and her head throbbed, she moved one of her arms feeling warm sand she pushed up and saw the bright yellow substance beneath her along with a little blood where her head was. Quickly she crawled for the water washing her face then pulling away as a stinging sensation came over her and she stood up which made her wobble for a second as she took a few steps then fall to the ground.

As she adjusted to the brightness around her she blinked up at the sky then closed her eye's "what happened?" she asked herself before recalling the bag on her back and pulling it off ignoring the larger or the two she opened the thankfully dry med kit and took out some things she needed to bandage up her head after cleaning the small cut, once she put the things away she noticed some ship parts scattered along the beach as well as someone laying around in the distance further up the beach, she headed in the other direction and came across Thor lightly shaking him "hey...hey you alright?" she asked, they'd been there for a little while based on the slight tan on her and the avenger. She hoped everyone was alright and that they could find out what they had saved from the boat and make a camp to hold up at for safety and to take a little time to recuperate.

SAMANTHA APRILE && THOR ODINSON
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The pulsating sensation in her head accompanied by the feeling of someone shaking her managed to wake her up. "Steve? What the hell happened?" Samantha asked with a groan, putting a hand over her forehead while mentally assessing the damage to her body. Apart from her lungs feeling like they were on fire, she couldn’t feel anything broken, she just ached and there might be some bruising but she would live. As the Captain jogged her memory, explaining that the ship capsized and all, she got up from the ground and dusted off her hands.

Cerulean blue eyes scanned the surrounding area. Where the sand met land was surrounded by a jungle of thick trees, vines and wild plants, dark and ominous, a great place to hold a secret hideout. For a moment, her eyes almost had an animalistic tint to them, similar to that of a cat or small canine. "We need to find somewhere safe. Even if Hydra has no idea we’re here we are too exposed out in the open like this," she said, chewing on her lip as she thought. "After that we need to find a water source and then start on finding food."

                              -

Thor let out a groan as he was awoken and raised an arm to shield his eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. "Yes, I'm fine," he answered, grunting as he pushed himself up and took a quick survey of his surroundings. The sandy beach seemed to wrap around the island, littered with the remains of the boat. He could see just a part of the ship, jutting out from the waves, far in the distance. There had been almost two dozen men and women on that ship; fellow agents, SHIELD researchers, and crew members of the ship. Thor knew it wasn't practical to hold onto the hope of any of them surviving--but he had quite a bit of experience with the dead turning up not-so-dead.

"Glad to see you made it ashore in one piece, Agent Swan. Any sign of the others?" He questioned, grunting as he pushed himself up to his unsteady legs with Mjolnir in hand. Since he had long since lost the radio that was previously situated in his ear, Thor couldn't call for everyone to check in. Instead, he guessed they would have to do it the old fashioned way.

Steve nodded in agreement when she suggested finding a better place to lay low for cover, then find water "lets go find the others and make sure we're all alright... then we can head into the tree's and figure out a place to hold up" he spoke up then looked around the area for a few minutes and looked back down at her "are you alright? it might be a better idea to take it easy till we find the Doc" he spoke softly to her.

Reaching towards her a little while not invading her space he breathed in "i can carry you if you'd like to trudge on... or take some of your weight?" he offered "unless you'd rather sit and go through the bags we've got" he continued while motioning behind him to the bags that dragged behind him on the rope around his waist. Steve wondered if she was injured or if she was feeling up to exerting herself till they found a place to hold up at, maybe they'd make a little hut of some sort or something.

Abigail nodded a bit as he mentioned being fine then he mentioned his gladness of her being in one piece causing a faint smile to arise on her face then motioned behind her "i think i saw Steve... um Captain Rogers" she spoke up to him then reached out to Thor "easy... let me look you over before we find the others, last thing i need is to worry about you and the others when we're somewhere possibly more dangerous" she explained to him as she looked up at him and took a deep breath as she glanced around noticing a few nearby tree's she motioned to them "indulge me for a few moments?" she asked hoping he'd lean or sit against a tree letting her check him over so she knew he was well enough to move.

Once she'd get a moment to check him she'd pull out a small flashlight, laser pointer, pen from the medical bag and look his eye's over/reaction time then see if anything hurt and what the symptoms sounded like. Afterwards she'd agree to look for the others and noticed two bodies up the beach and would occasionally touch her head and blink a few times before pursing her lips "where do you think that storm came from?...." she asked curiously then mumbled to herself as she looked out at the ocean "i hope the others are alright" .

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

As they walked along the beach she nodded. "I'm fine, don't worry about me," she insisted, though the incessant aching in her ribs said otherwise. It must have shown on her face because a second later, Captain Rogers was once again insisting that he either carry her or sit down for the moment and scavenge through the bags he'd found. As much as she would rather trudge on, she could see that this was one battle that she wasn't going to win. "Alright...I suppose we could sit down for a bit," she started, wincing slightly at the pain as she lowered herself into the sand once more. "Not for long, though, the sun is strong and we need to find cover."

While her eyes were still clear, her voice strong, she still had a slight waiver physically. It had been a long night and morning, she was exhausted and her strength was draining. "Water too, we really need to find a water source." She stressed to him, blue eyes looking out towards the sea. She knew it was likely that SHIELD was already aware of the ships disappearance but it was unclear if and when they would find them. Her hair was drying underneath the burning sun as they went through the bags together. "Do you think SHIELD has noticed the ships disappearance?" She asked curiously.

                              -

"You needn't worry about me, Doctor. I've experienced far worse, I assure you," he explained, though the woman persisted and albeit reluctant, Thor finally complied and went to lean against a tree to allow the woman to examine him. Once she was finished, he too noticed the two bodies in the distance that had washed in. "Hard to say. Though it is quite apparent that we aren't welcome here," he muttered as they headed towards the bodies. Thor knelt onto the ground beside one and recognized the man as Agent Barnett, and his lips set into a deep frown.

There had been almost two dozen men on that ship and he was certain that more were soon to wash up. Thor closed the man's eyelids using his thumb and middle finger before pushing himself up with a grunt, letting out a heavy sigh. "First things first, I believe we should find some place to lie low. We are in enemy territory, and there is a jungle out there that probably wants to kill us. Did you happen to see which direction Captain Rogers was headed?" He questioned.

Steve nodded, relaxing a little as she succumbed to his suggestion of a break and pulled the bags over while undoing the rope before taking a seat near her on the hot sandy beach. When she mentioned water he nodded as the sun baked them slowly, their skin was pink, red even compared to last nights complexion "we should see if their's any water or anything in the bags first.... see if we're lucky, otherwise we'll have to boil the sea water to get as much salt out as possible" he spoke up, he wanted to assure her they'd all be alright but there was no way to know for sure.

"I'm sure they know we've disappeared, Fury has a thing about knowing everything.... always wanting to keep in the loop, we'd mentioned checking in often" he assured her before looking out at the ocean, now wondering if they'd be there for a few hours or days; They weren't to close to the island so it was possible they'd know to check there but, without any word from the group maybe it'd take longer or they'd have to go through hoops maybe it'd be like when he went on his first mission way back when and had to do a solo unauthorized rescue, surely if nothing happened from shield then one of his team mates would come and make sure they were all okay right?.

A few minutes of looking through the bags and he found a few clothes, some weapons though most needed a good cleaning and drying before being used and a few small packages of snacks, shaking his head he looked back at Samantha and smiled as he stood up "come on... if you feel up to it we can make a quick walk or jog along the beach, then a few feet inland we can set up a camp... the others should be able to find us easily if we stay close to the beach" he explained suggestively and pulled the bag over his shoulder then looked at the other one ready to take it too.

Abigail followed Thor though the heat and thirst seemed to be getting to her on top of being a little light headed "yeah... this is no vacation, that's for sure" she agreed with him then looked out to the water as he looked over two bodies, when they continued walking a little more she looked out ahead of them "i know he was further up the beach... but i don't think he'd leave without looking for everyone...would he?" she asked then took a deep breath.

After walking for a little longer she started to call out to Thor "w-we should break the jungle's edge, continue looking just within the jungle so we have some shade... the sun isn't helping and I'm sure they're feeling the heat too" she started slowly for the jungle and leaned in against a tree taking another deep breath and looked out huffing some air to her lungs "i underestimated just how warm it'd be" she explained sheepishly before standing straight and walking further up in the direction that they were walking in to find the others.

Her eye's scanning the wilderness to her left and occasionally looking out to the water and sandy beach to her right "my hope... is that once we've all regrouped and gotten some strength back we find hydra's hide out and it has AC or something cold" she said smiling a little as she continued walking. Her clothes and body was dry now, her lips cracked a little and her skin a dark ish pink from the sun as if showing a light sun burn, she stopped for a moment and shook her head before pulling her hair to one shoulder before starting to walk again, now braiding her hair in hopes of getting it out of the way some and cooling off easier.
