This is a solo, private role-play between Titania and Flora, both owned by Dollfie (me!). Please do not post here, but feel free to take a peek if you'd like to read their romance. <3

Titania peered into the deep forest from the edge of the clearing, wishing that more of the sun rays that bathed the area would penetrate the leafy labyrinth more thoroughly. She knew that Flora wasn't avoiding her – it was simply in the Angeni's nature to gravitate towards more heavily wooded and densely vegetated areas, after all – but at this particular moment, it certainly would have been nice if the other mare was easier to find. There was nothing for it, though; Titania would simple have to go into the woods to find her. Not that Titania minded, of course. Flora's love of lush greenery may have been unmatched, but Titania's own fondness for forests was certainly nothing to sneeze at either.

Smiling fondly as she recalled how she and Flora had first met, Titania plunged into the woods with purpose, her keen eyes on the lookout to find her wayward beloved. Not the easiest task, she thought ruefully, when said beloved is brown and green and you are searching for her in a forest. It was a forest like this where they had first met, with Titania nearly tripping over Flora, who had been laying peacefully on the ground at the edge of a small clearing deep in the woods, surrounded and partially coverered by the dense and flower laden fronds in which she lay. Titania flushed a little as she recalled the very unbecoming manner in which she had somehow missed an entire full grown Soquili like that, but to her credit, Flora had been very well disguised!

Nimbly stepping over an exceptionally large fallen log in an exceptional state of decay – she would have to remember to come back to it later, to admire the wonders growing on and in it – Titania continued through the woods in search of Flora. They really needed to talk, and though it could have waited, Titania wanted to address the matter sooner rather than later.

Flora hummed quietly to herself as she settled into the soft, inviting patch of green beside one of her favorite trees. Leaning her head against it, she sighed contentedly, basking in the quiet peacefullness of the forest and the sturdiness of the great old tree. Closing her eyes, she let her thoughts wander as her mind relaxed. There was nothing wrong or particularly stressful happening at the time, but there was . . . that something. Not a bad something, not even foreign; at least, not quite. The hint of life that niggled at the back of her conciousness, that rising knowledge of what was coming; that something that she hadn't dwelled on yet, but needed to.

On some level, she knew what it was. It was obvious, she supposed, and a perfectly natural occurrence. Except it wasn't, not this time – not for her, and not for them. Well, perhaps it would have been a natural part of their relationship, had one of them been a stallion, but her dear Titania was a mare just like she herself was. As such, Flora had never really thought too much about the nature of their relationship . . . it simply was what it was. Sweet Shimmer, Titania's adopted daughter, had approached her some time ago, in that endearinly shy way of hers, and had asked if they were “together”. Flora didn't recall exactly how she had replied, but in retrospect, she probably hadn't known the answer any better than Shimmer had.

Shifting around a bit to get comfortable, Flora settled into the earth and let herself relax into the green and settle her thoughts.

Continuing into the forest, Titania let out a small huff of exasperation. She had forgotten how hard it could be to find Flora when surrounded by so many trees and plants! For all she knew, the forrest itself was helping hide her beloved's presence, though Titania knew better than to attribute any such action to spite, or to anything other than benevolence, really. It was simply the nature of the woods.

As she stepped over a particularly large bush, Titania halted her hoof abruptly mid-step as she noticed a napping rabit directly in her path. Driving her feet more deliberately into the ground, she tried to make some noise as she walked to wake the small creature, not wanting to startle it awake when she was literally on top of it. The small creature immediately perked up, and, noticing the large hooved one approaching, nimbly scampered off. Her path thus cleared, Titania continued on . . . and as if a beam of sun had shone down on her through the canopy, she realized how counterproductive it was to be quiet when trying to get someone else's attention; or in this case, find them. Flora had never seemed to be startled when Titania approached quietly, but perhaps making a bit of noise would be helpful in this case.

Spying yet another suspiciously familiar patch of green and flowers, Titania continued her search, abandoning her usual quiet and nimble steps.

Flora abruptly started from her peacefully drifting thoughts, and raised her head up to study the surrounding woods as she heard an unfamiliar sound. Not unfamiliar, per se, so much as that it was not a sound she would normally hear this deep in the woods. Titania was the only other Soquili that came out here on a regular basis, and that muffled thumping and rustling was unmistakably the sound of another Soquili. Titania, however, was exceedingly adept at navigating the underbrush, and tended to be nearly soundless in her steps. But Flora had always been very good at what she privately referred to as 'Titania detection', and was rarely if ever startled by her darling's approach.

Yet, listeing more carefully, she was more and more certain that it was indeed Titania who was traipsing around the woods nearly. Curiousity piqued, if only mildly, Flora debated internally for a moment before deciding to investigate why Titania making so much noise, not to mention what she was doing out here. Perhaps Titania had found some fascinating new fungi to observe! Flora may have loved plants the most, but Titania's enthusiasm for the strange, magical-seeming life forms had been infectious. Of course, it helped that Titania was simply adorable when she found something new to share.

Shaking the langour out of her bones and rising – with perhaps a little less grace than she normally had, thanks to that something – Flora perked up her ears and made her way in the direction of the sounds. Soon enough, she spied a flash of soft lavender out of the corner of her eye, and eyes thus drawn to it, quickly spotted Titania's lovely curled mane and the flowers that adorned it.

Trotting over, she greeted the other mare, “Hello, my dear, what brings you here?”

Titania did not startle at the sound of Flora's inquisitive greeting. No, she definitely did not. She had just been slightly surprised, but prided herself on being aware enough of her surroundings that the soft hoof steps of the other mare hadn't truly startled her, despite her relatively quiet approach.

Turning towards the sound of her beloved's voice, Titania couldn't help but appreciate the sight before her. Flora had such beautiful shining hair, adorned with so many varied and colorful flowers, that Titania wondered how she could ever find the other mare hard to spot, even in a forest full of green.

“Flora! There you are, my flower. I've been looking for you!” Titania trotted over to Flora, and greeted her with a affectionate nuzzle to the other's neck. After a moment enjoying the softness and the sweet smell of her beloved's neck and flowery mane, Titania stepped back and smiled. Though she didn't allow her smile to falter – for nothing that she wished to discuss had the slightest bit of unhappiness asociated with it, she was certain – she felt a twinge of uncertainty as she looked back at Flora, who was gazing at her expectantly. Now, while Titania was fairly sure what this something was that they needed to discuss, she still wasn't really, completely sure. Titania herself was a natural mother, having both an adopted daughter and her own foals by blood, and prided herself on her instincts, motherly and otherwise. But Flora was a mother too, and this was her body, not Titania's.

Well, there was nothing for it, she supposed. She felt that she knew, and there was no use questioning her instincts.

“It's about the foals, the ones that are coming. The spirits have blessed us, haven't they?” Titania questioned, a bit breathlessly, but the moment the words left her lips, she knew that it wasn't really a question. Sidling up to Flora, Titania gave her an affectionate nudge and

Perhaps, this discussion would be shorter and simpler than she had thought, Titania mused. Titania looked to her beloved, while looking ahead to their growing family.
