If it was one thing that breaking up with your ex made you realize, it was that you were very, very broke. Camp sounded simple enough, especially with being surrounded by other hunters, and it would be a break for both him and Jordan from crashing on his couch. Buying time was great and missions just helped.
Dressed in a long-sleeve Heavy Metal shirt, jeans, and boots, Melvin left his official jacket behind and kept a loose, smaller jacket on as he came with his pack and headed through the portal. One could only hope they had working showers and decent enough food.
As trainees sat down and waited for the presentation, the Life stood on the fringe and watched.

Ember blinked up at the stranger, taking in the sight of all of... that. Poor thing needed someone to make (or buy) him an actual outfit that wasn't some salvaged bits and bobs. (Thinking back on his own Halloween outfit, Ember cringed. Having a paycheck was much preferable.)
"Mornin' there honey," he said, tilting his head in curiosity. Gaming had never been his thing, but it was pretty hard to be culturally oblivious to World of Warcraft. LARPer, then? Interesting. Idly pulling out safety pins from his purse, Ember stood to fuss over his makeshift-cape, pinning it together better where it was slipping. "Well, I'd rather you call me a witch, but you can use warlock if that makes you feel any better."
He beamed, tugging a bit on the sheet. "Goodness, you need a better clothier, don't you? Nothing sadder than a little LARPer in sad, drab clothes."

"I don't lag that much," Justin frowned, mistaking "larper" for "lagger" and now second guessing himself. Was it even possible to lag in game while being in game? This would probably require a ticket to that GM, the one who complained about everything and referred to themselves as a "Jedi", (whatever that was) and that was a teleport and a flight path away. Not to mention GMs were incredibly busy and he really shouldn't trouble their time that much.
He brightened visibly at the concept of new armour though, inching just a few steps closer. New upgrades! "Yes, of course! I, Justin, keeper of the lost city of Lordaeron, defender of Stormwind, am at your service! Just tell me what to do, good ma'am, no task is impossible for this knight of justice."
He turned around exactly one-hundred and eighty degrees, turned back around with the same stiff motion, and did a very exaggerated bow at Ember.

Lag? Well this was a sort of LARP canon he hadn't seen before. Being self-aware and meta was a thing now.
Patiently, Ember waited for his flourishing promise and extremely awkward bow to finish. "Well, Justin, keeper of the lost city and defender of another, perhaps you can like, help me help you."
He tapped his chin thoughtfully, not correcting Justin in the technicality. Hardly mattered to Ember after all. "Then a quest I can give you, if it's a quest you seek." A sewing kit was always part of Ember's purse contents, simply out of practicality. Scaling trees and wandering through the jungle would always tear or snag something.
"Honey, you need like, a proper cape, don't you? So: bring me fabric fitting for the man you think you could be. But... Maybe after this initiation, hm?"

Justin patiently waited for the quest log to show up.
It didn't.
Really, he hadn't expected them to fix the bug that soon, considering how immersive the experience was, but if Ember was staring closely, he would see Justin staring for some reason directly above and to the left of him sort of wistfully.
"Honey, and fabric fitting for a man, it will be done!" He scanned around and identified possibly five npcs that could sell him fabric for men. The honey part, well that was probably the more difficult ingredient - good gear often required tasks of extreme diligence. "Fare thee well good madam, I will be back on time for the initiation."
He ran off, having misinterpreted about every single possible word Ember had said.

A slap on Oliver's back indicated that Arorangi had arrived.
"Kia ora, little bird!" He said jovially, grinning down at him. "Good to see you out of bed!"

In another part of the area, Alistaire stood, looking as usual, as though he disliked everyone and everything. In another part, Chance lounged against a wall, lazy and comfortable. And in yet another stood Gale, slightly shorter than the majority of the crowd, but looking as calm and stoic as they came.

Finally the redhead just kicks the ******** thing and it gives up all resistance, the screen behind her is suddenly filled by a map showing the northern US border, between Washington and Canada. "Let's start with some good news, 'cause we almost never get that before these things, do we? Well the good news is, we're lasting longer."
She offers a bright, empty smile. "Since the big group wake-up in '11, we have proven stronger and more stable. After spring 2012, our operations have also had fewer mass slaughters. Bottom line is: we've been growing in numbers and not dying all too often, so yay for us. Division bosses started opening up some older bases a couple years ago, but 2017 is gonna take advantage of our numbers across the map. Wapaloosie is just the first of a long list of bases that are gonna be getting some new attention."
Her eyes scan the crowd and she carefully avoids meeting any familiar gazes. Turning to the map on the screen she moves to the next slide, a closer few of a heavily forested area, a small section circled in red. "Around the world, there's weak spots. Our world and the world of Fear bump up 'gainst each other, and sometimes folks on either side crossover without meaning to. The biggest measurable one is in the Sahara, but the one over here was good sized when it was measured back in 2010. They called it the Breach."
Another slide, the red circle has grown, nearly dominating the right half of the forest. "This was the result of a survey taken last November. Still a hell of a lot smaller than the Sahara and Mariana Trench areas, but a lot more than this base was set up to handle. I'll get to what handling the area entails in just a sec, but first, do y'all have any questions on things so far? I've got a nerd on standby if you need a thing explained in more detail."

As an Asian borned in densed populated urban city, Shu did visited country parks with her family from time to time, mostly for barbecue and kiteflying. Thus, before joining Deus, she seldom visit a genuine forest with depth. The petite Death had not experienced Summer Camp and its spookie stories, only knew how it was like in some American cartoons and tv series, for example, Gravity Falls. She was therefore excited to have her first one, plus she spent quite a sum for the christmas presents.
Text said moderate cold, however, for people came from a sub-tropical area like her, breath would easily fog up. She blew her breath at her hands, they felt rigid under the weather though she dressed enough. Maybe it's the weather, the Asian didn't wear a smile, her lips pursed tightly. Stepped out of the protal, she immediately got assaulted.
After the met-up, Shu walked away and chewed over his words in silence. She seemed to be haunted by dark clouds in mind lately and that ruined her mood. The beast sensed the sulkiness as well but he wasn't good at soothing stuff.

Ace didn't dress very eye-catching since his roommates said civilian clothes were not like that. In a black and grey coordination, he glomped a familiar face from her back. She dressed like a cute sweet female but the glance she gave him suggested otherwise.
"Hey dollface," he greeted her with a grin, and soon encountered Catherine's objection on such nickname. "Are you alone? Where's he?" As his tall body would block other's vision, the petite maiden rolled her eyes at the man with flawness make-up. "Stop touching me so suddenly, you know the rules. He can't come, has an external mission." She grabbed his arms off her and that he could feel how cold her hands were.
The tall Sun hunter didn't bothered by her huffing at all, he wrapped up her hands with his until she warned him to leave her alone otherwise she would tell him. "Well, you only have us." Ace, had no other choices, said a few thing, left and found somewhere to sit down.

Dressed in her usual combination of far too many layers up top and a pair of shorts and tights beneath, Lydia, who's hair had recently been dyed an almost black blue on her top layer with much more bright and vibrant shade of electric blue beneath, had attempted to sneak up behind her boyfriend, Aro, before simply collapsing against his back with open arms that wrapped around him, her face squishing against firm muscles.
"Hello, lovely man!" She said, quite cheerily, her arms locked into place in a vice like grip that would have been very difficult to pry off. "And hello, Oliver!" She said to the other young man that she couldn't actually see beyond where she currently was, but she had seen him there before.
Somebody was giving an explanation for why they were all there, and Lydia was listening, finding it all quite impressive, and she did eventually peek out from behind Aro so that she could see what was on the projector screen.
