[BATT] Shopping Til You Drop (Eilidh/Xavier)

It's the most hellish time of the year....there will be trampling and shoving even when loved ones are near! HEY!

Xavier had agreed that going as a pair would be better than trying to shop alone. The place was practically a zoo, everyone was rushing around. Trolls were pushing, pulling and grabbing. Xavier had only seen this many bodies gathered in one place during Bloodfest. Even then it didn't compare to the madhouse he was looking at.

Swallowing nervously he took a deep breath in, shivering uncomfortably as his gaze followed a few trolls rushing from one store to the next. "Is this really a good idea?" Xavier raised his brows, despite his shy protest. He was determined to be independant and handle the large noisy situation but for the mostly mountain and forest going troll was out of his element. Of course, finding good deals to share with his friends ad loved ones had been the whole reason for coming had it not?

Eilidh had waited a bit too long to shop for gifts for her friends. Knowing the madness that would occur at the stores, the teen tealblood invited her jadeblooded friend to accompany her in shopping for their friends. She smiled to him, "I'm sure we will be fine..." She told him.

Arriving at the first store, Eilidh looked around for the perfect gifts! She stared at the potatoes before smiling brightly. Perfect, I can make these into potato trolls for my friends! She thought, putting them in her cart.

Xavier gave what she had to say consideration before he perked up, nodding his head in agreement. "I know..it's just overwhelming." He mumbled. It wasn't so bad, they would be doing this together. Having to push through the crowd was tiresome of course, even when he asked politely folks would still push.

Their first stop was an adorable little Shack with all kind of vegetable themed goodies. His eyes lit up as he found the nesting vegetable display. It would be adorable painted up to match a trolls symbol! These gifts were just right for the group he was thinking of getting stuff for.

Looking through the odds and ends of the store, Eilidh saw a nesting doll and thought of Nucleo! Maybe he'd like this! She smiled, touching the object slightly. Perhaps she would paint over the doll and make them look like Nucleo... that would be better! Putting the item in her cart, she moved to look for something for Amonee.

His next gift was much larger than the previous ones. Hefting it into view, the little dancing vegetables brought a wide, cheerful smile to the jadeblood's face. Glancing over at Eilidh, he wondered if she'd even like something silly as this?

The vegetables looked happy, so it seemed like a good enough sign to him. He'd get her something else, nicer perhaps beside this silly gift Papabear was liable to mistakenly eat.

As Eilidh made her way through the store, she had a wonderful idea to add to her friend's gifts! She'd make mashed potatoes! But she couldn't use the two she already picked out, those were gifts. She made her way back to the potatoes and picked out two more. With a pep in her step, she made her way back to Xavier and continued looking... Ther perfect gift for Amonee would eventually show itself.

Potatoes were always nice, and would be a great addition to any meal he made. Deciding to purchase a few potatoes, Xavier hummed thoughtfully as he continued to shop around. What else would he find for them? Perhaps if he looked hard enough he could find something for everytroll on his list.

Xavier had waited until the last moment, and that meant he was working on a timeline and budget. If anything the gemcutter would supplement anything he did not find at the mall to make the exchanges a little nicer? That seemed like a logical choice. Or so he hoped.

After searching for a while, Eilidh found THE gift for Amonee! She picked up the slippers and smiled brightly. Sure they looked like tubbers... BUT she could add and fix some things and make them really really special! Amonee was really into fashion and such... well at least she thought he was into fashion. Setting those into the cart, the tealblood sighed. Now it was time to find a gift for Caiden.... and Panili.. Saying Panili even remembered her. A small frown crossed her face before smiling again. Either way, she would give the other a gift!

Oh. This was a kind of..odd gift? Xavier's brows scrunched up as he tried to decide what to do with it. Maybe..it could be given in the spirit of biting into something (or troll) as a way of relieving stress? While he himself had not really met anytroll in particular that was particularly frustrating, other trolls were not him? He'd figure out the details later he figured.

This was still as stressful as he indicated initially to his matesprite. Just thinking of her in those terms brought a jade flush to his face as he met back up with her briefly to check in, before resuming shopping. They'd check out other stores after this, this one was just too fitting!

Eilidh dug into a bin of cheaper gifts, finding spud-shaped erasers. The tealblood smiled as she thought of who would like them. Caiden probably would! She had planned to get him something bug related though... and amonee was an artist if she remembered right. Nervously biting at her lip, she decided to toss them into the cart. She could always give amonee both... or figure something out!

It was really difficult shopping for others when you were constantly being bummed into. Sometroll's hand even clawed him as they shot a hand past to grab something. His eye's widened as he blindly grabbed for some of the remaining bargain items. They appeared to be a vegetable at a glance, although he put little thought behind it as he added it to his cart. Whatever it was he could always repurpose it for wrapping gifts he supposed? Xavier would figure it out later. The sting in his cheek was a reminder of how crazed sometrolls could get. It was unsettling, he was use to a much more laid back way of life.

Frustration bubbled below the surface as she looked through the store. Being stepped on, ran into and even hit occasionally was starting to wear on her. Not to mention all the good gifts seemed to be heavily picked over. That just meant being extra creative! Oh! Maybe she could do a nesting doll of herself growing up and give it to Papa Bear! Yes! Perfect! She quickly made her way to the dolls and put another into her cart. She smiled as she padded off to find another gifts, looking and finding Xavier.

Another one of the small nesting dolls caught his attention. It was different, and perhaps could be something Caiden might like? Pondering on that he wasn't entirely sure, at the very least he could use the dolls as bases to add too and make one for each of the trolls he wanted to give?

The idea seemed tempting enough at least. Smiling he glanced at Eilidh. She seemed to know what she wanted to do. He admired her tenacity. Rubbing his temples he sighed a little bit. Trying to get gifts for others was turning out to be a little more complicated than he'd given credit.
