Somewhere in Chittentown SRDPSL complex...

With wide, curious eyes, Kolako looked for Nictor in the Main Hub, hair full of radiant flowers given to her by the greenblood from before. She bounced around the area, jumping over and sliding under several obstacles in her path with less than a bat of an eyelash as she dodged and avoided most things in her path easily, the flowers in her hair safe from harm due to her hair being a very safe and easy area to place light items in.

"Nicc-tooorr!" Kolako exclaimed, eyes wandering the area as she asked a few trolls nearby if they'd seen a troll about yay tall, constantly covered in pollen, with a braid and tuffy messy hair. She'd received a shrug in response, but that could hardly deter her. "Niiiiccccctooorrrrrrrrr!" She yelled, louder this time, hoping that he'd maybe get out of whatever hole in the wall he was trapped in this time. "Donde estas? Where are you!"

Nictor Sabbat

Nictor and Beehemoth had been making their way through the halls, trying to get to an exit. Nictor was feeling more than a little overwhelmed by the constant swarming crowd of drones and thought some fresh air would do him good. Of course, going was a bit slow with Bee accidentally bumping into workers and trying to navigate the denser hallways until they finally stopped looking for an exit and were just trying to find more secluded hallways. This foot traffic was awful and ridiculous.

Nictor breathed a bit easier when the amount of drones about thinned from dozens all shouting and carrying supplies to small groups moving briskly or couples hanging back against the walls. Their presences meant Nictor couldn't fully relax, but at least it was better.

Nictor hummed quietly too Bee as they continued wandering.

Nictor's thoughts also wandered about how the whole space elevator adventure was going so far. It wasn't the worst, for sure. The work was continuous and never ending, giving him plenty to do and try and focus on, though the amount of trolls all milling around the base at once was a bit overwhelming. It wasn't the worst though.

It was completely baffling to Nictor to think there was even some company outside Bee that was, daresay, pleasant. Nictor wasn't too sure about it yet, but it had been nice to talk to Kolako again. It was been a while since he'd seen her, but she'd left an impression on the yellowblood for sure. She was lively but not overbearingly so and had been patient with him and shown him kindness and had been so baffling happy to come and chat with him.

It kinda made him want to share in that happy feeling to.

Idly the duo still searched for a way out, but just walking and chitteirng back and forth was enough for these two if need be.

Nictor and Bee paused when they heard a far off ruckus that seemed to be slowly getting louder. Nictor was starting to get nervous and especially so when he could discern the syllables of his name being yelled out down the halls. The nerves receded though when he registered the voice that had called out, the accenting that flavored the words in a unique flair he'd only heard Kolako use.

The two waited, considering the noise was approaching them. Bee seemed happy enough to settle down in the middle of the hall and humm consideringly as they waiting. Nictor meanwhile was nibbling his lip, warring between that pleasant warm feeling he'd tasted earlier when he'd talked with Kolako and his usual nerves acting up. What in the world was she yelling for him for? Had he done something wrong? Oh man, he hoped not.

When Kolako went skidding around the next corner, finally coming into view, Nictor called out.

"H-Hey!" He called, not too loud, but hopefully it would be enough. for good measure, he waved one arm in the air. Hopefully this encounter would go as well as the first two had.

The brownbloods eyes slid to Nictor razor fast, a wide smile spread across her face as she waved heartily in his direction and began to move toward him. It was a slow road, considering her tiny stature and the amount of trolls in her way. Kolako pursed her lips. They were in the way. Normally, this just meant she could jump around it, but with all these trolls... Releasing a displeased huff, Kolako quickly darted through the crowd, struggling to get to her destination.

Finally, Kolako arrived. With a loud pant, the redblood gave the yellowblood a big hug. "Hola Nictor!! I--" A quick glance to the side moved her focus to the equally cool and doubly large Beehemoth reaching over with a hand and shaking one of his buggy arms with a wide grin. "Bee!! Hi!! Como estan?? How are you two?! Whats up?? It's super packed in here isn't it? Ayyy, it's almost too much, no crees? Don'tcha think so? I can't get anywhere! I'm super glad its not like this in the forest, I don't think I'd be able to take it! No no! Only maybe with the beasts in there. They're really cool! Super chulo!!" Kolako grinned at them, before suddenly remembering she had a reason to be there. Kolako's expression suddenly became puzzled, thoughtful. "I-- Um, I came here for a reason. Creo... I think. I don't remember it though..." Kolako frowned. "I think... It might've been important... Muy importante..." Kolako tapped her chin, hair bobbing along with her, covered in flowers and the pollen from them. What was it again?!?

Nictor Sabbat

Nictor watched Kolako duck and dodge her way through the crowds into the hallway he and Bee were in, which was at least slightly less crowded. The whole crowding thing was making him tense though. Too many drones everywhere.

Nictor's eyes were drawn to the bright smile adorning the redblood's face, hair bouncing around her and wait there were flowers-

Nictor's train of thought screeched to a halt as he was pulled into another hug. He made a small noise of surprise, jumping as he was swept in close, however briefly. A stray thought wanted to say Kolako was about to crush him to death as she snapped his spine, but Nictor knew what a hug was. Bee hugged him all the time.

Kolako had moved away to happily shake Bee's foreleg in greeting, but Nictor was staring after her, wide eyed once more. There it was again! She was bright and happy and it was directed at him and Bee. It was so strange. The first time they'd met, she was doing a favor to a stranger to keep him alive. The second time was him being stuck in a heat vent in a hall. But this time she'd been looking for him specifically.

Why in the world was see so happy to see him?

Bee meanwhile was pleasantly buzzing a greeting at the redblood shaking his leg like a troll handshake. Honestly, Bee was growing fond of the girl, despite lingering worry for Nictor that still made him slightly suspicious. No one had taken an active interest in Nictor before, but her attitude was a positive one. And the effect it was having on hid little grub was quite interesting.

Nictor blinked away his thoughts for the moment. He felt tense and awkward, but not quite uncomfortable. He felt like he was supposed to return hugs but he'd been caught off guard both times now and had tensed up instead, too spooked by the turn of events to do anything.

Nictor rubbed his cheek as he listened to Kolako's chatter and nodded along. She was right, the crowd really was bothersome, but with Bee inside, he made for a nice deterant to keep the main throng away.

Inevitably, both Bee and Nictor's attention shifted to Kolako's hair, with brightly colored flowers decorating the black curls. The floral scent was subtle and slight compared to the smell of many bodies in one place, but it was there. Nictor tugged a little on his braid, sticking his tongue out slightly in thought. Those flowers were really nice, and a slight smile curls Nictor's mouth. Just seeing a little bit of nature was nice in this steel enclosure. They looked like the ones Kolako had gotten off that greenblood, Sephos, earlier.

Bee, recognizing the scent as the same from the flowers the little greenblood and treebeast had had, leaned forward to inspect them. They were bright and healthy blossoms and they looked really nice in Kolako's hair! Be clicked happily, approving of the fashion statement and saying that Nictor should put flowers in his hair too. Nictor hummed a little in agreement, hoping Kolako wouldn't mind Bee getting that close.

Kolako almost pulled away at his tensing, but then again, the yellowblood only eeped, didn't say stop! Which was good. It meant it was okay! Which was also good! Kolako felt a bit confused, having felt like she'd... understood Bee's words. Somehow. She almost freaked out, but decided it wasn't the time, and hey, there wasn't any proof it was true, it was most likely bad. Watching the two inspect her hair, Kolako blinked before her eyes widened excitedly. "OH! Oh oh oh! Si!!" Kolako exclaimed, grabbing one of them and thrusting it into his face with a bright smile. "These are from that green boy from before! El niño! Sephos! Jejeje! I got it for you! I hope you like it! Do you like it, do you? I didn't mean to get it hurt too bad, but, it was hard, fue muy duro...!"

Nictor Sabbat

Nictor stared. Boggled might be more appropriate though.

One of those fragrant and pretty flowers had been plucked from dark curls and brought right up into his face. The blossom was a pure white with smatters of light yellow near the center and a slight dusting of pollen from the stigmata. The thing was delicate and pretty, one of the petals a little bent, but otherwise, perfect.

Nictor's nonplussed reaction was more to do with what Kolako had been saying though.

For him?

Nictor had been quite taken with the flowers when he'd seen them earlier and had spent a good portion of the day wishing he'd had them. He remembered watching Kolako bounce right over to the greenblood and start chattering with him about something. That must have been when she got the flowers Nictor mused absently.

Carefully, Nictor reached up and took the flower gently by the stem and out of Kolako's grasp. Nictor carefully cradled the lone flower in his hands, completely enamored. Why wouldn't he though. Flowers, harmless and nice. Flowers were comforting, reminding him of exploring and relaxing with Bee, of home and his own meager plants that did not bloom so nicely. Gently, with steadier than usual and careful movements, Nictor stroked one of the petals, the soft texture tickling his fingertips.

Nictor plopped down on the ground right then and there, just holding the flower and staring at it.

Beehemoth hummed questioningly at Nictor, less concerned and more amused by Nictor's befuddled happiness over the flower. What a simple thing, but honestly both Bee and Nictor were quite simple folks. It was the small things. It was a nice flower.

Nictor was still caught in his reverie. It was such a simple and small gesture, on the surface. Giving someone a flower because they stared at the bundle of them but didn't go and get themselves one. But that's the big part here that was tripping Nictor up. He hadn't said he wanted the flowers, he'd just stared at them. And when he'd been staring, Kolako had bounded over to Sephos and started chatting him up. Had she really noticed him looking at the flowers and deduced that he wanted them? Not that he was subtle or that it was hard to figure out that he (and Bee) were quite fond of flora. No, the important part here is that Kolako saw him staring and decided to go out of her way to get him one. Not just retrieving the flower from Sephos but transporting it and hunting him down in the metal maze of a complex.

Because of a flower. Because of a beautiful little flower Nictor had wanted.

Nictor curled his palms protectively around the flower, holding it closer to his chest.

It wasn't just the flower, but the gesture. The thought. Beehemoth was always thinking of Nictor, but that was as natural as breathing and eating for his lusus. For a troll to do this was nothing Nictor would ever expect. Maybe Kolako saving him from a carnivorous plant or getting him unstuck from a vent would have been the things that caught and held his attention. Trolls helping trolls was inherently offkey to what Bee had taught Nictor about trolls. Not that it didn't happen, clearly it did, but Nictor just expected the worst from every troll out there. As much as each well intended encounter with other trolls tended to throw him, Nictor was learning trolls were not just belligerent creatures out to destroy each other. This was neither here nor there though.
Nictor didn't attach a troll helping him out with any sort of personal connection or care, for the most part. He didn't usually see any of them again and the interactions had mostly consisted of him being helped and then going their separate ways.

This though. This wasn't just a notion of manners or a put upon assist. This was personal. This was personal in every sense of the word, from collecting the flower to hunting him down to approaching him all bubbly and smiley and happy.

Nictor was feeling confused and overwhelmed by some kind of revelation but he was having trouble grasping it. He felt some tears pricking at his face and his throat felt like it had closed itself up.

"Thank you," Nictor whispered, a wobbly smile on his face, likely the most steady statement he'd ever made to another troll despite the odd catching in his voice.

Kolako didn’t get why he took so long to respond. She watched him carefully, watching him gingerly take the flower with a loving, sweet gaze. His eyes seemed head over heels for it, and for a second, Kolako felt her pump biscuit stop. She’d never seen such an expression on another troll, something so careful, so sweet— So soft. She was pulled out of her daze at his sitting, and the redblood stuttered over her words, blinking it away. She could feel her curiosity growing.

How was he so enamored by just a flower?

Kolako wished to asked, she wished to know, to understand, but it was something she felt only those who had something precious to them could do. It was something so important to him, she would never understand a semblance of that curiosity, that loving interest. Kolako’s pump biscuit fell. She knew, deep in her, that she would never understand that feeling. Kolako forced a soft smile, wanting to see him happy, watching the movement of his hands as he pulled it closer to his person.

She blinked blankly as he offered her a wobbly, almost teary-eyed smile. Kolako gaped. Was he sad? Kolako didn’t understand. She thought— She thought he’d be happy?? He was smiling, and he seemed grateful, but, but… Kolako’s mouth pursed into a wobbly line. She wanted him to be happy, and the flowers were sure to be more appreciated by Nictor. She carefully plucked them out of her hair, 3 slightly crumpled flowers pulled into a small bouquet and handing them over to him with a cheerful smile. “Just take’em all! Esta bien! It’s okay!!” Kolako grinned. “You seem to really like them!”

Nictor Sabbat

Nictor felt a whining sort of hum work its way out of him as he stared wide eyed at the other flowers being offered.

He lowered the white flower to his lap and took the others, two light yellow and a soft orange. Just as carefully as the first Nictor cradled the flowers in his lap, holding his small bouquet. Distracted as he was from the drones milling through the hallway, his tension seeped away. It was hard to be tense with the sweet floral scent invading his senses. Nictor looked back up, the awe and confusion plain on his face. One flower was more than enough, Nictor was not greedy, but Kolako had just handed off her whole handful to him with a bright smile.

"Th-they're...I-I uhh," Nictor tried. He wanted to thank her again but he was too caught up in his rapidly circling thoughts.

Why was she giving him these flowers? Why would she bother to go out of her wayb and get one for him and then give him the whole lot? Because she liked them?

She was giving him the flowers because he liked them? That it?

Bee did that all the time, picking up small trinkets because they're shiny or nice looking or because Nictor likes things. Tokens from Bee were not usual at all, but that's the thing. Bee is a lusus, his lusus. It's what they did! Lusii raised and cared for their trolls and Bee was kind hearted and loving and always tried to make Nictor smile.

Lusii did things like that. And, if media were to be believed, trolls could do that kind of stuff too. Nictor wasn't completely blinded by his paranoia to the fact trolls still made decisions and had their own free will and were just as capable of kindness. It was that trolls don't choose to do that kind of stuff. At least not to him.

Except that was a lie now.

It was like some sort of rule was being broken. Staring back at Kolako she was still smiling bright and wide and it was all at him. It was absurd and completely strange and Nictor wouldn't help but feel overwhelmed. That weird pleasant feeling was back and He wanted to hug Kolako.

His brain gave a stutter at that. Hug another troll? He always hugged Bee as a thanks for gifts. But wanting to hug a troll wasn't the same as hugging Bee. Not at all. Eugh, he had no idea what to do, his thoughts were an absurd jumble. So all he could really do was offer Kolako a smile.
It wasn't the small shy one she'd already seen. This smile pulled his whole face, making a few of the gathering tears slip down his that were flushing from his emotional upheaval. His smile was wider though, wide and open mouthed and something that usually was never seen in the company of a troll, let alone at one.

This was probably the first time he'd ever been overwhelmed by a positive emotion. Certainly an upgrade, if nothing else.

Bee quietly chittered, complimenting the flowers, watching as Nictor seemed to short circuit. Immediately, the clicks turned worried, the fluffy buzzbeast growing tense. Had something bee wrong with the flowers? Was his little grub okay? Of course, then Nictor looked back at Kolako and offered her a smile. A bright and genuine and Bee wanted to shove his litte grub for making him worry. His charge could be so dramatic sometimes. Bee was surprised that Nictor was making that face at a troll though. He'd always gone a bit heavy on making sure Nictor knew how bad and dangerous trolls could be and maybe he'd gone a little too heavy on it because Nictor was so nervous around them but better safe than sorry, right?

But Nictor was sitting there smiling at this little redblood. Bee was still, watching Kolako carefully. How would she react? Bee could already feel himself gearing up if she decided to scorn his little grub. He wouldn't stand for that.

Kolako watched him carefully, observing his reactions as he carefully cradled the small bouquet and watched him relax and be confused. Kolako released a small giggle. She was definitely gonna tease him about this in the future! He seemed so confused! Wasn’t this normal? His stuttering caught her attention and Kolako neared, tilting her head slightly releasing a soft hmmm? as she watched his face contort into a wide smile, something she’d never seen before right then and there.

      Kolako gaped.

His excited happiness startled her, making her eyes cut to the side. Her curiosity knew no bounds, and normally she wouldn’t be so surprised over a smile, but— She’d never received that sort of smile. A smile that was pure happiness.

He’d turned the smile from his flowers onto her.

      Kolako’s insides tumbled.

Kolako didn’t know what to feel. She just knew what to do, pulling away slightly as she offered him one of her normal laughs. “If I’d known you’d be so happy, I would’ve given them to you earlier! Mucho mas temprano, for sure. Jajaja!” Kolako offered a full on grin. She straightened some, giggling a little as she extended a hand. “Here’s to being friends, right, Nicky?” Kolako asked, feeling very privileged to have seen such a radiant smile as his own.

Nictor Sabbat

Bee immediately settled back down at the positive response. Nictor had never worn that smile in the company of another troll before, so it was a special moment. It was odd to see Nictor reacting this well to another troll, and Bee felt uneasy about that. Trolls could be fickle and difficult things, never mind that Nictor was a troll. Still, Bee hadn't done anything to discourage it. As a matter of fact, he found the redblood a pleasant troll overall. Bee was just very cautious with his little grub.

Still, this looked to be the start of something good.

Nictor as shaking just a little. The shaking wasn't new, but the cause was, making the whole sensation rather strange. He felt warm and a bit fuzzy and good.

He's definitely felt that kind of stuff before, but Nictor was having a hard time reconciling that a troll was the cause of it all and so wasn't quite ready to name those emotions yet. Because that nice feeling was getting gifts from Beehemoth and being curled up under a blanket while cuddling with Bee and stargazing on a hill with Bee clicking and humming tunes. It was budding feelings of happiness and contentment and connection but those didn't associate with trolls in Nictor's head. Fundamentally, the two just didn't make any sense together. Had no business being near each other.

Yet here he was , feeling happy and awed and befuddled because of a Kolako.

Nictor sucked air in, leaning back only slightly as Kolako's hand extended, more due to being off balance a he was than anything else. his eyes snapped up to her face, wide and vulnerable. Friends?

Friends with a troll, those dangerous creatures that choose to destroy and hurt and trick each other?

Friends with Kolako? A redblood who was lively and capable, just a kid like him but capable and outgoing, and she wanted to be friends with Nictor?

Beehemoth was Nictor's only friend, always had been. Bee was a source of comfort and kindness and Nictor liked to make Bee happy and being around him made him feel good. It... it wouldn't be so bad to have another friend. It sure sounded nice in theory. So far, interacting with Kolako had been nice too.

So, friends?

It was tentative, and slow and with that same care that he took the flowers that Nictor reached for Kolako's outstretched hand. The grasp was light at first, but then grew firmer, just a little more than you'd expect from Nictor's demeanor. But while he reached out, he came to a resolve.

"I'd...Y-y-yeah. Friends, Kolako."
