Relating to each other, surprisingly.

The waves were calm, rocking back and forth with a soothing rhythm that could calm the soul of any troll whom had the pleasure of witnessing it. Empty eyes watched the tumbling waters as snowflakes fell from the sky slowly, falling upon the snow laden wood of the Civisect boardwalk, the scene seeming almost like a painting. Cold hands covered in gloves tucked themselves into a plushy black jacket.

One Forera Serpen was standing on the windy boardwalk that day, long hair pulled into a high ponytail, face partially covered by a thick, winding scarf. She seemed thoughtful and silent, a first for her usually eager personality. The tealblood adjusted her scarf to cover her face, cheeks flushed from the cold. It'd be easy for her to get thrown to the pits should another troll arrive on scene, and while she was usually hyper nervous and/or scared about that fact, at this moment, all Forera did was simply watch and be calm. It was a seemingly rare moment.

The tealblood's black combat boots kicked at the snow lightly, watching the cold whiteness fall to the winding depths of the ocean with a blank expression. Where the younger Forera would've left already, tired of the same scene, same thoughts, same feelings, this Forera stayed. She seemed lost, distracted, and most of all, empty. Brooding, of course, something of which was normal for her in her time as a rebel, having traded her previously jaded and easily complacent life for one of fear, toil, and loneliness with (almost) no support. Simply because of her deviant morals and radical views. It was bullshit.

      Forera kicked the snow again.

She'd left both her lip piercings in, finding small comfort in tugging and playing with the two behind her scarf. It was better than constantly biting her bottom lip and shredding it to bits with her shark-like jaws, as that just left it aching and sore the next day. It calmed her. Relaxed her. She didn't know why, it simply... did. The teen exhaled slowly and fiddled with the belt on her comfy pants.

Forera turned, taking in the lavish city of Civisect in the distance, expression blank as ever. This place had been hers once, before the Vast Glub happened, leaving her hiveless. Anguis had been there for her. They'd lived together as twins. She could protect him and vice versa, they'd been double trouble. They were golden.

      That hive was abandoned now.

And honestly, probably rotten. It must've smelled terrible from the rotten food in every corner, and the occasional splashes of blood on the ground must've scared all the looters(hopefully). Not that there was anything of true value in there, save for maybe the piercings. She'd hadn't returned since she'd moved into Salamire. Maybe the gerbils she'd found were living in there now. Maybe they'd become little warriors, battling for victory against the others in her hive. Forera couldn't help smiling at the thought.

Shuffling away from the shore, the tealblood pondered a little more, mind lost in the days of the past. Of the Tunnel Snakes, the war of Old Hemisect, their capture in Chittentown. Of their being hunted, the loss of a good friend... Of Vulpin. Oh ********, Vulpin... Forera's stopped walking, jaw setting, squeezing her eyes shut so as to not cry. She couldn't go to them, she didn't want to risk it. She didn't want to ******** things up even more. They'd been separated, ripped apart, all because she chose to follow the Initiative, and they chose safety.

      Forera continued walking.

She didn't blame them, not for one second. They'd always been flighty, always put themself above the rest. It was the right way to live, considering society's very own motto was pretty much "kill or be killed." She just missed them. She missed their soft smile, their beautiful eyes, their snarky remarks and the way both liked to tease each other. She respected them, found them so cool after saving her... They'd hadn't much time to really connect after Bloodfest. Forera smiled to herself wistfully, eyes holding most of her emotion. She soon felt a hard bump to her calf, glassy eyes blinking alert as she stumbled to the side and stared at the item blankly-- Oh. A bench. Forera reached out and cleaned the seat before falling upon the chair and relaxing, releasing a loud exhale before deciding to simply take a minute and rest her eyes. She needed this silence.

What am I even doing…

Eridia stared long and hard at the scenery before her, yet didn’t really concentrated on it. She wasn't quite sure how long she'd been in Gerard’s hive nor was she sure how she'd gotten in and, after exploring it halfheartedly hoping to find the adult, Eridia couldn’t help but think of him. Now she wandered out on the cold streets of Civisect, alone, lonely, empty… She was her only company and she didn’t precisely enjoyed it-- yet she forced herself to. The highblood still pictured Gerard’s hive, the place was wrecked and even if most of his valuables were long gone, she found something he'd offered her-- a flask.

It just wasn’t fair. Why was she the one most affected, if what she felt was nothing more than admiration? Why was he gone-- out of her reach? Each passing moment that Eridia went to his hive and waited, felt as if a sweep had passed, an eternity. Each moment was as slow and transparent as glass. Each moment, each time she waited Eridia could almost see all her infinite moments lined up, as she wait. Waiting….

Why has he gone where I cannot follow?

It hurts... To breathe, it hurted her. To live without him, withstanding the slings and arrows of a series of outrageous events and not being able to stop them. To die, to sleep… Was that what she really wanted now? To dream – as simple as that. And with that sleep, to end the heartaches and the thousand natural miseries that she was forced to endure. Her winter tailcoat danced to the wintry breeze as she continued speculating, thinking… drowning herself in her ever lasting thoughts. You can't just make yourself matter and then die… She thought, hating the feeling she experienced lately. As if she was there, but at the same time she wasn’t. Wondering if someone cared. But they don’t. No one truly did. As if she belonged somewhere else, anywhere but here… She now began to think about the trolls in her life. How she knew that most didn’t give a damn if she solved her problems with a naked blade.

She had daggers now… and… Eridia blinked back to reality, noticing she was now at the boardwalk. She wondered if it was really worth it-- to continue searching for him when he could be dead. A jump, all it too was one jump or one slash and she’d…

She wouldn’t… Eridia wouldn’t…

Had she become insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity? She shuddered and step away from the railing. “Breathe girl, breathe....” She muttered to herself. “You are overthinking my dear, you are!”

“Are you really going insane? For sole admiration? Or are so so drunk with their lingering presence, so ever dependent of it? Is this all necessary my dear? Must you really search for that very feeling that keeps you alive?” Actually… It was a good monologue for a novel. That and talking to herself calmed her. Kept her mind busy. She spotted a bench not so far and decided to approach it so she could rest for a bit. She slowly sat down, making sure her tailcoat wouldn’t get wrinkled and fixed her cuffs to start writing, not taking notice of the troll next to her.

“My dear look at yourself…” She said as she looked through her bag and pulled out a journal and pen. “Look just how insanity has corrupted you... Look how you ponder, your recurring thoughts my dear, you are doing the same thing, over and over again… However you are expecting different results… Expecting some sort of hope…”

She wrote and wrote, her eyes slowly got teary with every word. “Look at the way you talk to yourself, as if you knew how no one cares to listen! Why is that hmm?” Her smile faded, feeling suddenly drained.

“It's because I’m the only one whose answers I accept…” Eridia looked up and gently wiped the tears away with gloved hands. Oh, there was someone sitting as well. The hemoanonymous troll cleared her throat and looked at the other with a faint smile.

"Ah... Lovely night isn't it?" She said, trying to grasp on her old jovial mood. "As it's meant for one to think..."

The quiet loneliness of the boardwalk kept Forera calm and sane, posture relaxed and lenient, almost surrendering. Should a guard come, the tealblood wasn't even sure she'd put up a fight, feeling almost empty inside. However, the minute the tealblood heard a voice speaking, she sat up a little, attentive. She looked around, seeing a strange, busty hemoanon with a tailcoat walk directly in her direction, talking to themselves before sitting directly next to her, causing Forera to sort-of scoot. She wondered if she should've moved, but her words were curious. Forera eyed her carefully, eyebrow arching as she listened to the lady and watched her, interested in her words.

She listened to the others plight, feeling as if she'd interrupted a truly intimate moment, but stayed quiet-- She was clueless in somehow calling her attention without breaking the train of thought of the other. Her words struck a chord in the tealblood. Forera sighed to herself. She kept her eyes averted from the other, already feeling awkward by knowing a few innermost thoughts from them, trying to respect the others hemoanonymity. She was either crazy or misunderstood, and the tealbood felt like she understood both almost too well. Forera stayed quiet until she heard herself being addressed. The tealblood hiding as a high blue blood kinda glanced over, fiddling with her hands, debating. This troll had something to hide too. Though, she was rather sure it was nothing like her own.

Forera decided to stay, keeping calm. If she were a spy, the tealblood would whack her in the head and knock her right in the ocean. Her rumble spheres'd make a good weight to sink'er down. Forera speculated, before pursing her lips as if she'd been in deep thought about something else-- Wait, she had been. Vulpin. Forera adjusted her jacket, releasing a chuckle that fell into a sigh. "It sure is quite-a-view, I guess." Forera's leg slid into a comfortable slouch, eyes moving back toward the ocean. She appeared thoughtful. "'Could do without the cold though. Or thinkin'." She murmured under her breath, voice dull.

She stayed silent for a bit before her eyes fell on the boardwalk, thinking. "Those things ya were sayin' earlier-- I heard ya, by the way... Were ya... writin' somethin'?" Forera asked, swallowing hard. "I'm kinda..." It was an inner debate to tell her how she felt, but in the end, she reassured herself with how fast she could run. "...feelin' the same, y'know. At least, kinda. With th'whole "insanity" and "hope" type-o-thing." With each quote, she made hand motions, before simply shrugging. "Hashtag, totally relatable." The tealblood mentioned, tugging her scarf higher, so as to further hide any feature below her nose. Her voice was slightly muffled but audible, making it harder to discern if it was actually Forera or not. Maybe that'd help trolls not recognize her...?

"Heh..." She couldn't stand the cold at all, and the thoughts-- she was trying oh-so hard to ignore them. Eridia chuckled and rolled her shoulders a bit before she moved to a comfortable position. While she did so, she got a look on the stranger she was speaking with out of the corner of her eye. A blueblood, nothing out of the ordinary. Although she couldn't understand why she keep on attracting them wherever she went. Whatever. Her lower lip slightly dropped as she mentioned that she had heard her. Well, she wasn't being too quiet about it, neither did she thought she was being so loud. It was safe to say, that was glad she didn't freak the other much with her sudden onslaught of words. The highblood cleared her throat and fixed her ascot tie before sighing out, "Yes... We could say I was."

She glanced at her notes and looked up to the scenery once more. "Nothing too interesting though, still need to work on that opening hook, you know?" Eridia shrugged, it wasn't as if she wrote as a hobby but more to admire her handwriting. She couldn't understand how could someone relate to the things she said, or felt actually. Half of the time, the teen swore she was the only one who felt like so. Unless the stranger's doubts were caused by something, or someone, else.

"Such a shame, actually. 'Tis a horrible feeling we share then? Self-doubt and possible insanity..." Eridia chuckled bitterly. "The name's..." Yeah, she couldn't possibly use her name, not while she was hemoanonymous. Think, Eridia THINK.

"... Aelden. A-aelden Touzel. Enthusiast writer and quadrant specialist, still must work aplenty to fully become an expert." The lavenderblood tipped her head with a smile. Is that the best I could do?! REALLY, Aelden? COME OOOON!

"Glad to make your acquaintance. In all sincereness, I hope your source of mental distress is nothing like mine. I've been living a true dreadful daymare. Not even sure if I'm intimidated by it or simply stuck with it eternally." Which is boooring if you ask me.

Again she heaved a heavy sigh. "Ever experienced quadrant induced feelings? If you haven't, do stay away from them. They'll make you stupid." The highblood chuckled as she flipped through her notes. To be fair, she was trying her best to lighten up their moods. Eridia was sick of feeling sad and empty-- with nowhere to run or hide from it. With no one to rely these things, as friends became enemies in a blink of an eye. While strangers, would aways be strangers. So she didn't care what she'd say to this stranger as she was sure she couldn't do anything with the things she said.
