Spark took a leisurely stroll through the trees, sniffing under long pieces of bark for anything to nibble on while she listened to her gurgling belly, tiredly. She considered the alternatives and concluded there was nothing nearby she was even remotely interested in. Rise & Shine had much better available, for sure, and Spark was no cook. The problem now was finding something to trade for a thing or two. She shrugged, and then concluded she'd do that some other time, when she was sure of what she could trade in, and figured she may as well act like a good cook for a while, first.

The sun sloped over the swamp, and cast the trees in a beautiful wash of orange while she stared up at it in a mix of awe, and disappointment. The day had gone so fast, she barely got anything done except rummaging. Of all things to waste a day on. There were a few kin still waiting on a fortune telling she had yet to start or summon them for, and this is what she killed time on? It was just one of those days. She slumped her rump on the ground at the edge of the tree line to watch the sun, sullenly, and was grateful the little orbs above her head and her eyes provided some sort of light now.

Click to show. The evening was quiet and calm, and Streams of Silver was enjoying her stroll with the usual quiet contemplation she gave things when she had the good fortune to be alone. It wasn't that the doe disliked company– she didn't mind it at all– but when the company included someone other than Gentle Heart or her grandson, Subtlety, she couldn't quite put to mind her appreciation of the little things. Her belly full of a rabbit she'd taken down earlier, and her back comfortably weighed upon by Glint, she wound about, taking the time to enjoy her stroll.

It was too early in the evening to see fireflies, but that's what Streams of Silver thought she saw. Not something reflective– it couldn't be– they were soft glows, not blinding glints that disappeared as her angle of approach changed. No, they were bobbing about above a green, shifting...

...of course. Above a doe– and a rather striking one, at that. Certain that if she'd spotted the other, that she'd soon be spotted, she spoke up.

"Lovely evening, isn't it?" she called out.

The sound of the voice startled her, and she jumped, twisting her head this way and that, eyes wide, before settling on the shining grey doe before her, with smoldering orange eyes. She blinked, unsure if whether it was a trick of the dying light or if she was truly grey, and tipped her head curiously. "Hello there," she said, unused to visitors. Come to think of it... Spark had no friends. It wasn't that she didn't get along with anybody, it was simply that she lived alone most days by her giant willow tree, taking refuge under the massive drooping branches like a small hut. Not many ever saw her, if they happened to pass by at all, unless they knew her specifically as "that eccentric kin who tells fortunes." It was a strange life.

"Yes, it is. I love sunsets, they're so gorgeous. Night is so peaceful, and the crickets are going to start chirping soon," she mused. Hopefully her lack of social skills didn't show too badly.

The doe seemed all-too-eager to make nice with a stranger, but she was friendly, if... curious and very obviously unused to intrusions. The gleaming doe stepped forward with a smile, nodding in agreement.

"There's a certain hush that falls across the swamp in times like these," she agreed with the stranger. "I only wish the midges didn't come out in such numbers." It reminded her of why she enjoyed staying near her daughters' home, with the dragons out in droves to pick off their preferred prey.
