(9:57:03 PM) sesshiyasha: Maiko had taken up post on the side of the road. She had been doing floral arrangements with the flowers she had found that morning. When she wasn't doing floral arrangements she was dancing. She enjoyed her time, even if she was never certain where she would be at night, or when she would eat. She was fairly good at living off the land. Herbs were her friends, she had studied them for a long while when she was at the old Okiya she used to reside in. She had developed a love of herbs, for the things they could do and the many different uses that they could be used for. She was always finding new and interesting things to use and do with them. She had learned some things from an old medicine woman she had known in her old land. She had studied under her until she had found a way to escape, and once she had learned that, they helped her to escape from that life.
She had run away from her lover and her home. She had fled when the emperor had shown too much interest in her. He had wanted to take her from being a geisha and make her one of his wives. She had cast her lot in with the emperor initially and figured it was inevitable, and inescapable. That was before she learned that the herbs could help her get away. She couldn't tell anyone about them. It was her secret. It was also before she had fallen in love. He was a regular and one of the guards of the emperor. She had fallen in love with him, but she dared not put him in danger or utter a word to another soul. This had been her secret.
She shook her head to clear it from the ghosts of the past that still lingered. That was then and this was now. She had escaped, and that was what was needed. She turned her attention instead to the flowers in front of her, until she heard the happy giggling of the little ones, she looked up to see a large pawed stallion with a fluffy tail. She was unsure of his type, but she was intrigued by his markings, and his mannerisms. He reminded her of the world she had fled. That long ago and far away land, where she once had a lover, and friends. A world where she wasn't alone.
It must have seemed odd, one who was sitting there arranging the flowers, being so completely captivated by the stallion in front of her. For a Geisha to lose herself as she seemed to have just done, it was something that she would normally have been scolded for. She accidentally dropped the flower she had just been working with. and with a small gust of wind off it went. She looked down to the ground as the flower soared through the air. She needed to finish up her arrangements in order to hopefully sell them and potentially find work for the evening. She set her mind back to her work.
