Dark Woods

The Dark woods is a place of danger. The canopy is so thick that sunlight seldom pierces it's leaves. Many often choose the roads leading around this forest. Fearing what they might encounter within.

A shadow portal appeared about fifteen feet above the forest floor. The shadows that made it were writhing and churning, the opposite of the way this type of portal normally formed and indicated that something was wrong with it. After a moment, something fell out of it and plummeted towards the hard ground at a high rate of speed.

The fall wasn't a smooth one. There were tree limbs in the way. There were also a few nasty vines in the way. And a few large rocks on the ground.

Needless to say, it wasn't a very good landing...

Sebastet finally rolled to a stop in some high grass, hidden but for the fact that the white areas of her fur tended to appear as if it was glowing. And that short downy fur was now liberally splattered with her own bloon

Jake slowly moved out of a shadow high in the canopy. He was crouched, but in a weird manner, as if he was actually contorting his body to resemble branches. In reality he was manipulating his shadow coat, so that it was in the actual shape of leaves, and branches. His crimson eyes were shielded with a thin layer of shadows. Which blocked the glow of his eyes, as well as allowed him to see from ever shadow around them, giving him a complete three-hundred and sixty degree, third person view of the area. Far below he found the object that had been responsible for the crash. He could also smell the blood in the air, it was similar to his own. It was a woman, a woman with cat like features. It was then that he recognized it to be a Hylarr, which could only be one person, Sebastet.

Jake released the shadows, and then dropped out of the tree fifty, or so feet to the ground. He landed without a sound, Towering over the woman. " Lady Sebastet? You have crossed into one of the Domains of the Blades. Do you reqire medical attention?", He asked with a very formal demeanor. His face as stoic as it could possibly be. His voice like a crumbling mountain of iron.

Sebastet gave a pained groan as someone started to talk to her, seemingly babbling a bit of nonsense until her head cleared a bit. She didn't move beyond lifting her head enough to see who it was, then she gave another groan for an entirely different reason, "Oh... It's you... Medical attention would probably be a good idea but I seem inclined towards telling you to just let me die here," she said in total honestly.

Right now she had several broken bones, numerous cuts and lacerations, a headache of monumental proportions... And a three inch wide tree branch impaling her side...

Why she wasn't dead yet. She had no clue...

But for his imagination, she was apparently botching a suicide attempt. The reason was obvious to anyone who knew what to look for: Namely, the silvered scar of her Mating Mark showing that she'd lost her mate again...

Jake had waited in silence, for her response. All the while, he was giving her a once over. Noting the large branch in her side, and the signs of a concussion. His eyes scanned the ground around her, finding that she had rolled to her current location. Following the evidence with his eyes, he found the location she had fallen. It was obvious that she had fallen from a great height. There were broken branches lying everywhere, and a nice blood splatter on the rocks. It was obvious now that, She had been the one to cause this harm to her person.
With a mask void of emotion, the reaper crouched down to her level. Then forcefully removed the branch from her side. Tossing it to the side. " Then If you would be so kind, as to hurry up. I do have duties I must attend to, One of them being to extract any soul I come across.", Jake was a cold man, and hated those who would waste a life like that. In the back of his mind a voice was chanting, what it was saying he could not tell. Instead he ignored it, passing it off as that strange soul acting crazy. However, he should have listened closer.

The reapers boot came up hard, aimed for her chin. The Shadows that formed his hood began to split into thin tendrils, blowing in the light breaze like hair. His crimson eyes blazed with an ancient furry. " Or, you could get off your a** Seb. None of them were worth it. . . Grann didn't deserve dirt. So why would you off yourself for the likes of him... The blackbloods are to blame for everything wrong in this world.", His voice was filled with venomous hatred. His face was as cold and as still as any marble statue. The way he held himself at this time was different. He carried himself as if he Ruled the very Night in which they stood. Very uncharacteristic of a Nomadic, Recruiter.

She gave a pained scream when he pulled the branch out of her then panted with the pain that continued to move through her. So it was justifiable that she missed the first part of what he said. The last bit caught her attention, though.

As she pressed one hand to the hole in her side. She gave him no warning as she twisted a bit and knocked him on his a**, "Don't be such an a*****e, Shade... Even if you still wanted in my pants, you're the one claimed this time. So shove your high and mighty assholeness to the side and get over yourself already," she told him, though only Kedar would recognize that she really wasn't going to off herself...

The Reaper returned to his feet, as if nothing happened. He gave a smile, a twisted little, cocky smirk, one that did not belong to Jake. " Good, now get off yours." , And just like that All traces of this bizarre behavior vanished.

" I see. . .Self mutilation for the sake of feeling something." Jake, slit his right wrist. With the use of a solidified blade, extended out from his left index finger. Then held it out to the woman. " Drink. Then we will go once you can. As per the contract, It is my duty to see you safely to shelter. You being a council member of the Sandman.", once again He addressed her in as formal a manner as He was going to. He had become Irate with this situation, and he did not hold a solid mask as did his predecessor Kedar. It showed in his eyes. Which were a dim crimson pin point within black sockets.

Sebastet rolled her eyes a bit but accepted the offered wrist. How much she took, she wasn't sure. She sometimes got a bit lost when she fed, mainly times when she was this hurt.

She pulled away and licked her lips then shivered a bit as the worst of her injuries healed. There wasn't much she could do about the rest, though, except rest and deal with it.

After a few moments, she finally cracked open one eye to look up at her rescuer. Yup. It was Kedar's new body. What was his name? Oh yeah, Jake... Well, at least she hadn't gone wrong with calling him Shade.

She held a hand up to him and let him pull her to feet, but had to lean into him when the world went spinning, "Don't worry about it, Jake. Just loosen up a bit, you look like you swallowed a rancid lemon... You've been claimed. Your questionable virtue is safe in your kitten's claws," she told him softly, "Besides, it's an old game he and I used to play," she paused there and let him fill in the blankets wherever he could.

Jake, Helped her up off the ground, and even ducked under her arm to support her. He ignored her for the most part. Though her last words had hit a cord. "What did she mean by that?" He thought to himself.
Jake started to help her walk along, but got annoyed with the process, because it was interfering with his thoughts. So, he made an attempt to lift her into a fireman's carry. Then carried her into nothing, pausing as they were halfway through the unseen portal. " He who? There was only you and . . . F*CK!" He said didn't yell, but The curse was Jake's favorite word in these cases. This one in particular, he felt was well deserving of it. That word was the signal, that the Lights had come on, and everyone was home. Then he groaned and stepped through.

Kitiara tugged her cloak around her tighter, using the dark cloak to hide her features. It helped to hide her pale skin and hair, using the darkness to her advantage helped ease her nerves. The forest while rather creepy was soothing, the solitary quiet was oddly calming. Kit focused on the nightly noises around her to try staying alert, and to avoid thinking about the past. Biting back a sigh the werewolf looked up at the sky, checking the lunar cycle for how long she would have to find a place to hide for that night. Just keep moving, never stay in one place for to long... white hair... just in case better to avoid the towns Kit told herself, pushing her heartbeat to stay at a calm lever.

Kitiara checked her appearance in the reflection of the lake, not a hair to be seen. A soft smile rose up in her face from under the mask. Kit checked her supplies and muttered a curse, a slight accent held on her tone. She was running low on provisions, she would need to get those taken care of before moving on. She worked to calm her heart beat and prepared herself to venture towards the nearest town. Maybe she would risk staying the night before moving on. Sighing she adjusted her packs and headed off, humming a song to herself. Course she had no idea which way would lead to a place she could get something. Sadly she would probably end up hunting for it.

gaia_nitemareleft Tenchi walked calmly a few feet behind his sister. it threw him off that she was in such a good mood. shes usually angry and pissed at something, anything. he knew his sister better then anyone else and knew her better then anyone else would but she still has the ability to throw him a curve ball everyonce in a while.
he slouched a bit as he slipped his hands into the pockets of his black slacks.
-we had a place and an unlimited amount of food to feed from, but you wouldnt listne to me and got us hunted out. you damn near slaughtered the entire town.-
he snapped back in a grumble. they blended into a perfect little town before they were in the situation they are in. that was until Ariel was caught feeding from the only person Tenchi warned her to stay away from.
he too glaced up at the sun's defening brightness, wincing at the sick feeling he had. he hated being wekened too.
