Looking down at the young foal that was soundly sleeping, the batwalker couldn't help but relish in the fact that she was able to take this precious life away from those that she was out to destroy. Now all she had to do was to form him into a creature of her own making, a creature fit to work beneath her. To follow the same goals as herself. This could be quite amusing. Yet, at the same time she was finding it hard restraining herself and "playing" the more motherly sort. If she was to succeed with this plan though, that is what she would have to do, as disgusting as it may be.

Neva continued to watch the foal sleeping, and she wondered just how brokenhearted those skydancers must be now, with their precious baby gone. She would do whatever it took to destroy them. To break them down and shatter them into tiny pieces. Oh what satisfaction that would give her. Deciding that the foal had enough time to sleep, she nudged him roughly awake. "Get up. Now." Her voice was cold and rough as she spoke, no sounds of love would ever come from this skinwalker's voice.

Perhaps today she would show him just what it was like to be a skinwalker, what it meant to be cruel to others. Yes...that's just what she would do today. It was a perfect day to do such a thing, with the skies covered in dark grey clouds, and a cold breeze that sent chills to the bone. Though, before she could do anything at all, she had to get this foal awake. A part of her really wanted to do nothing more then to just lash out at him, scratch up that pretty little body of his with it's pale colors, but, that wouldn't do well for a first lesson. No. First she needs to gain his trust first, and then she can destroy him. Well, destroy him after he completed the goals she has in mind for him. She just wondered if she would be able to last that long, and be able to keep her natural instincts at bay. That pale coloring was just so tempting to make bleed, having the red of the blood staining it. Oh how pretty that would be, but no, she had to restrain herself...for now.

Lucian, who had previously been snoring lightly, looked up blearily at the mare he called his mother. As far back as he could remember, she had been there, pelted and distant. And he adored her. He adored the scent of her, the feel of her pelt, all of it. He even adored her while she sneered and bit and shoved him away when he curled up against her on cold nights. Mother is god in the eyes of a child and Neva was Lucian's. She could kick him across the room and he would still come back to her with blood in his teeth.

The ferocity with which Lucian adored Neva, however, he matched in the ferocity with which he obeyed her. As soon as she spoke, he jumped up, tail switching against his sides happily.

"What are we going to do today, momma," he chirped, nuzzling against her to fend off the cold of the drizzly morning. "It's cold, there may not be anything around to hunt..."

"Quiet. Haven't you learned yet not to speak without permission?" Neva snarled at him as she lashed a wing out, scratching just slightly. Oh how hard it was to keep her temper down enough, but she so desired to see that bright red blood just run down that pale coat of his. No. Focus. If you kill him then it ruins your plans. Keep control. You have to keep control. The boy was right though, it was cold, at least for normal creatures, so there may not be anything about.

"I want you to go out, and see if you can find anything to hunt. Go alone. Be quiet. As soon as you find something come back to me and I'll teach you how to properly play with your food." The pale colored batwalker instructed the foal with a cold voice, wondering just how long he would be gone. If he failed in finding anything, then she'd just have to punish him and then maybe, just maybe, she could see the blood run down his beautiful pale colored coat. She only just wished that it was her mother's blood that she was spilling though. Those skydancers were such a menance. She had to destroy them. She had to destroy them not by killing them outright, but by breaking their minds. If she could get this foal trained, she could use it against them. Have them attacked by one of their own. Oh what sweetness that would bring. Neva could almost hear the pitiful crying of despair.

Lucian recoiled form his mother's scolding and from her physical lashing. She was right, he had learned better, so why had he spoken out of turn? He whimpered one before recollecting himself, knowing full well that any extended display of pain would be punished tenfold. He straightened his back and stood tall on his fright-shaken legs top receive his instruction. Play? Lucian liked to play! His tail flicked against his hind legs excitedly as he listened, eager to begin his hunt and games.

He rocketed out of the cave into the drizzly grey day. The good news was that the mist cooled him as he ran full speed. So far, he had been right in his assumption. Nothing was out in this rain, but still he searched. It was fear of punishment and longing for approval that kept him out for hours, stalking and searching. Eventually he found a small rodent straying from its home and dashed after it. It was a rush and for a few moments his world was a blur of green and the smell of dust int he rain. He loved it. Within seconds the furry creature was in his jaws and he snapped down just like his mother had taught him. Warm blood ran down his chin and he could not wait to break his fast from the night before but wait he must. Mother was going to teach him a game.

Happily he trotted back to the cave, slick with rain and shivering with excitement. He dropped the fresh carcass at Neva's feet and grinned, blood in his teeth.

The batwalker watched as the foal ran out of the cave. She had a feeling that he would screw things up, but it just meant that she would just have to punish him. In the meantime, she stood in the opening of the cave and stared at the rain, picturing what it would be like to finally destroy those skydancers. First she would break them down mentally and emotionally. Neva loved watching others just slowly break down, losing their hopes and dreams. Granted, physically destroying someone had it's enjoyable moments, it just ended much to quickly for the skinwalker. The skydancer's cries from their lost hope, just made the batwalker giddy. She needed that to happen, and happen soon.

Some time had passed and finally the foal came running into her sight once again, breaking her from her thoughts. "Is that rodent the only thing that you could find? Disappointing." Glaring at the dead body of the rodent, she prodded it with her hoof. "Eat the scrawny thing, and then I will take you out myself and properly teach you how to do this since you apparently can't do it on your own." Neva was starting to get angry with the foal, was it really that complicated to do what she wanted?
