The green leaf is draped over him in a way to say it is but a gift from the forest itself. WALK WALK FASHION BABY Name of Kin: Through The Mountain [Totoma] Division: Critic [Designer] Brief Character Bio: Through The Mountain is a stubborn and determined kin who rarely takes "no" for an answer. As far as he is concerned, he is always right, and there is no room for discussion about it. If you want what is best for you, you'll listen to what he has to say and leave it at that. He's incredibly protective, and while it comes from a place of love it can certainly be overbearing. Artist's Statement: Anyone can fly if they believe they can, using their mind as the wind to carry them. Through The Mountain adopted this fashion, presented by another designer, because he admired the concept. Would you like to be considered for the contest pets? Yes
WALK WALK FASHION BABY Name of Kin: Ghost Of What Was [Zikwa] Division: Model [Designer] Brief Character Bio: Ghost Of What Was is a somewhat aloof kin. He always seems to be in his head, and in truth, he often quite forgets to speak aloud. He would be much happier if other kin could simply read his mind or hear his thoughts, but alas. He will often try to communicate with gestures rather than speaking out loud, but when he must speak, his sentences are brief and to-the-point so that he can speak as little as possible. He does not mind others speaking, and in the right circumstances can even find the voices of others to be soothing... But more often than not he would prefer to stay in his own head, experiencing the world around him more than fully interacting with it. Artist's Statement: Even with broken arms, the swamp will always guide its children, and shelter them from harm. Ghost Of What Was is modeling his own design. YOU OWN EVERYTHING Name of Kin: Fallen Feather [Smoothback] Division: Designer Brief Character Bio: Fallen Feather is always twenty or so steps ahead of himself. He has a lot of trouble slowing down and paying attention to what is happening in the moment, always rushing to create his next big idea, or prevent the next inevitable disaster he sees rushing towards him. He rarely stays still unless he is sleeping, and he is always wandering the swamp and looking for inspiration -- whether for his designs, or just for what to do with his day. Proof of Concept:
Feathers. Feathers were the new thing, absolutely. Feathers of all shades and sizes -- but what he really wanted to do this time was work with monochromatic feathers as an accent. Monochromatic feathers on each piece, complimenting the model's fur color -- or, perhaps, contrasting it! He would do a headpiece with shades of red on a hat of woven branches. A cape of feathers in shades of blue carefully strung along vines. Plaits of green feathers stuck to a kin's haunches with sticky spiderwebs. Yes! It would be fabulous! (wrote this before getting his name and ffff now it seems sort of silly, haha, but I'm leaving it~)

YOU OWN EVERYTHING Name of Kin: Love You Left Behind [Garter] Division: Model Brief Character Bio: Quiet and unassuming, Love You Left Behind is somewhat easily manipulated. She is aware this is her nature and thus keeps to herself most of the time. It is, however, impossible for her to stay alone for very long -- despite the dangers, she thrives in the company of others. She enjoys being able to laugh and love, and opts to remain optimistic that the interactions she has will stay positive, even if she is often proved wrong. Proof of Concept:
Love You Left Behind had become very good at standing still. Designers were always so picky about the way their designs fell, and she was happier being cautious than moving and "ruining everything". Even when she was told that she was free to finally move, and in fact should move to make sure that everything was secure and looked proper in movement, she often took those first steps cautiously. Luckily, one could usually tell if things were in order within such first steps -- and when she finally felt comfortable and really got moving, she was flawless. She could strut forever, and she could take on whatever attitude was necessary, and she was confident in that. Once you knew everything you were wearing would stay, you could be as secure as the fashion sported.

WHAT IS THIS A TRIBE FOR ANTS Name of Kin: Swift And Sure [Blueboy] Division: Model Brief Character Bio: Swift and Sure is very good at being molded, he can fit whatever look you need him to fit. He is happy to give the crowd a grin, or some attitude, or a stern glare. Outside of his work on the runway, however, he is all pleasantness and smiles. He would love to talk to you about anything under the sun for hours. Just, maybe don't dig too deep. He's very good at surface discussion, but when you try to delve, he becomes a little lost and isn't sure how to verbalize all of his thoughts. He can think deeply! But he can become lost in the murky waters below... The Look:

WHAT IS THIS A TRIBE FOR ANTS Name of Kin: Walking After Midnight [Stitchgirl] Division: Critic [Model] Brief Character Bio: Walking After Midnight is a sweet girl at heart, but she's not afraid to speak her mind, and her mind has plenty going on. Her comments aren't always bad, but they sure aren't always good, either. The doe is very matter-of-fact, but she won't cut someone down without at least a brief description of how they might go about fixing themselves or the work they're doing. She just doesn't see why anything should be less-than-perfect when perfection can (in theory) always be achieved. The Look:

Fashion must be a delight to the senses as well as a feast for the eyes. The smell of musk, the tang of blood, and the plush kiss of freshly killed fur against the skin. He dismisses anything droll or cerebral, although he likes a bit of coy humor. Pollen's designs accentuate a kin's natural weapons, both offensive and sensual. Give in to your most base nature, darlings. Artist's Statement: The fertility, the power! It's an exploration of sex, of course. How can you talk about collections? What a word for fashion! It's as if we are speaking of an elderly totoma collecting bits of wood in case she came across hard times. Can't you feel the anticipation of a new season racing through your blood? No one's really sure how she got in here, although everyone assumes she's a respected avant-garde...something. Mostly she is really hard to impress. She may just be using this as an opportunity to make pithy comments. But what if this design is the one that will finally win her over? She has to like something, right?

An eyeless Zikwa's head is obscured with a mossy veil, with scales made of bark cascading down its shoulder blades. Each strip of bark is uniquely chosen. and alternates with light, dark, and patterns.

WALK WALK FASHION BABY Name of Kin: Glides Over [Totoma] Division: Critic Brief Character Bio: Glides Over considers himself a firm but fair critic, a stance reflected in his no-nonsense style of judging. Though blunt, he never bashes, only critiques. After all, only amateurs spew baseless comments and Glide has something to prove that simply doesn't allow such negligence; though his rugged looks and gruff exterior may make him out to be anything but a denizen of the fashion world, his inner self is one of elegance, and he won't let anyone tell him he doesn't belong. Likewise, he believes design should never cover who a kin is, but rather compliment it and make them blossom. Glide is a kin who is true to himself. Artist's Statement: A rough exterior is the canvas, yes, but beneath it is a kin of poise and grace. Glides Over is honestly no designer, but through commission he's achieved a look that speaks of his true self; it's a costume that doesn't cover the strength, but instead compliments it. WALK WALK FASHION BABY Name of Kin: Only This [Zikwa] Division: Designer Brief Character Bio: Short and to the point, Only This likes to keep things simple in more ways than one. His designs are minimalist and generally focus on stark contrasts of color and material. Too biased against cluttered designs to go anywhere near the judges' table, Only This instead sticks to what he believes he does best, and that's design. As company, he can be a bit of a handful, wild and sporadic in his interests. Only This tends to fixate on one thing for a while before dropping it entirely for something completely different. Still, he can be a genuinely friendly kin and is rather laid back despite his pension for saying the first (sometimes unintentionally hurtful) thing that comes to mind. Artist's Statement: His current outfit is a representation of one thing, a common practice for Only This. That theme is tree, plain and simple. WALK WALK FASHION BABY Name of Kin: Sharp Eyes [Toto] Division: Critic, who dabbles in modeling Brief Character Bio: Got his name from his very discerning eyes, and always has his signature eyelet accessories, to make sure everyone knows he's watching. He's a stern guy who likes bright colors and eyes, and likes when designers can emphasize those features (which he will also model). He knows when to be constructive and when someone needs a swift headbutt! Artist's Statement: While Sharp Eyes didn't design it, the artist who made it says: "With two sets of eyes you can judge them twice as hard." Would you like to be considered for the contest pets? Yes

No, they care about the details, the fine work and small little things that create the whole picture. A critical thinking they take a different approach to how the critique, focusing on only minor details before expanding to the bigger picture. Small might not be what they and their ego are, but its the little things that keep them going. Artist's Statement: Go big or go home- everyone knows to be seen you need to seek out the most eye catching items. And what better way than to have second set of 'eyes' for that? WALK WALK FASHION BABY Name of Kin: Eye Cant See Division: Model Brief Character Bio: Obedient and trusting, Eye Cant See depends on the judgements of others, and while yes, they can indeed see things, they know they are not the best, so they put themselves at the mercy of others- at least where fashion is concerned. It's hard to upset them and even harder to break their trust because to Eye Cant See, there is beauty in everything, and if you can't see that? Well, perhaps you ought to get your eyes checked. Artist's Statement: Colors need to POP but compliment. The Natural gold tones are made all the more vibrant with the fresh green leaf, and, it adds a certain pleasing scent. YOU OWN EVERYTHING Name of Kin: Slip Something On [Garter] Division: Designer Brief Character Bio: Slip has a terrible habit, and that's that she focuses too much on herself before focusing on others. This obviously makes it difficult to do her job, but when she buckled down she knocks it out and it focused until the end. She's not airheaded or selfish, but rather insecure, and breaks from it only in one massive show before she recluses herself once more. Proof of Concept: Simple ant to the point- Hoof stains. No one ever pays attention to hooves. Deep rich colored painted on, dried to set the colors- accent with some leg warmers, (fur, vines, bark, feathers, leaves) and those hooves will be stars of the show. For the sky prefers the extra ordinary in all things. Attitudes and looks especially. (He however is fairly timid in one on one discussions. It was time for the grand finale.
With the last of the models returning from the runway, stepping (mostly) elegantly over a puddle of mud that had been left behind from an earlier look (backstage a model was still crying about that debacle), it was time for the show stopper. The last and fabulous design that would have the crowd in a frenzy was being given finishing touches.
Leaping Fish tugged at Dove’s hair, tangled through with enough feathers to cover three very fat chickens and hoped it would hold firm.
"You can do it. Walk out, turn and come back." She kissed Dove’s nose and smiled. "You’re so very pretty."
It was a collaboration of sorts. Leaping Fish had done most of the design and Crow had added his snide yet helpful comments, while making sure each item was in place and Fish didn’t just dress Dove up as a complete disaster. This was everything Bird Bird Fish was striving for. This look was the height of fashion and would set the tone for the rest of the year.
The crowd fell silent.
"Go, go, go," Leaping Fish felt like she could jump out of her own skin and take flight alongside Dove.
There she went, down the runway, the epitome of elegance and style. Splashes of colour from the butterfly wings carefully stuck to her legs with sap, her hair coiled and braided with hundreds of feathers of rainbow hues, meticulously placed fish scales running down her throat. An homage to bird and fish.
A successful and perfect ending to Bird Bird Fish’s first grand fashion show.
Even if Dove never did make it past that mud puddle.
