For those few that knew her, Seriav always presented a good face. Best hoof forward and all that. They didn't know that her sweet and innocent nature, while all very true, was at war with the Music she could hear in her heart. Being a Fayth meant hearing this music most of the time, and the music she could hear was not the music of her Mother or of her Father, it was chaos and discord and.... violence, if that was a thing one could put into music. She loved it, though, the sound, the way it moved and flowed, and how it connected her to her brother. One of her brothers, at any rate. Ser wasn't sure if Kelakohr would understand it, if he felt more in the Light or in the Dark side of their family. Ser put herself firmly in the middle because as much as she loved her brother, Aveshar, she knew he could do bad things. Offen to members of his own family. And she loved her Mother and her Father, though her father still treated her like a little filly most of the time.
She could blame that on the fact she could utter no sound. It must worry her parents to death that she could not so much as cry out for help if she needed it. That's why they had given her Vire. He could be her voice, in a way, understanding her in a way that others couldn't. But he was also a rotten spy for her father and she was so mad at him!
Seriav landed hard, a bit out of breath from flying faster and further than her companion could keep up. Vire would catch up eventially, but until then, Ser had the whole world to herself. Well, not really, but no nagging about not meeing others because they might be dangerous, no disappointed looks when she danced to the song only her family could hear, not humming annoyance always at her ear, ready to report everything she did back to Father.
And it wasn't like Sseriav did anything wrong. Ever! Even though the Dark side of the Faythsong made it's home in her the same as it did her favorite brother, she was not him. She was kind, and considerate, and treated everyone she met with both of those things.
So WHY. She stomped her all her hooves on the ground, trying to vent some of the frustration that had built up in her and just made the sound of the Song so much more real in her veins. Why did Vire have to tell Daddy that she was seeing Aveshar as often as she could. It's not like she was turning into him or anything. She just liked being around her brother. And her parents has no right to try to deny her that, either. Because they knew, they had to know, the song she carried in her heart, how it was the same as the one Aveshar and his line carried. It was only normal to want to be around those who, at least for a little while, felt in sync with her.
Seriav couldn't speak or sing or share that side of herself with anyone, ever, and she didn't let it bother her most days. But when they were trying to deny her even that most basic connection, it infurated her. And it was all Vire's fault!
Stomping around for another minute did nothing but made her feel stupid, which only fanned the flames of her ire. She needed a distraction. Fast.
For the first time since landing, Seriav actually took notice of her surroundings. It was a lovely meadow she'd touched down in, soft and sweet smelling grass coming up to near her knee as far as che could canter in any direction. It was sunlit and so very green. It was lovely. A perfect place to stop. A perfect place to reflect and to calm down. Maybe. Still, a distraction would be nice. It got so noisy in her head sometimes. She as a creature of silence, though, and that always won out.
Glancing around the meadow, she wondered if there was anyone nearby who could distract her from the fact that her familiar was trying very hard to catch up to her. He would eventually but eventually was not now and she should enjoy her freedom while she could.

Seriav blinked her glowing lavender eyes a time or two when she heard wings on the wind. The edge of her anger had subsided, as it always did, in the face of something new. Watching the Soquili in the air, she wished for her familiar was there for a brief moment. True, having Vire there would make it easier to communicate, but she was still angry at him, even though it wasn't anywhere near the level it had been when she took off. It would be interesting to try and strike up a conversation with this new stranger without him there to translate. That was enough of a distraction for her to watch the strange mare land and start toward her.
Seriav tilted his her head as the mare moved toward her, to the side and down slightly. The mare has the look of Angeni about her, but as she was completely on her own, it didn't hurt to be cautious, and lining up her glowing horn at the stranger was a threat and a question all in one. She kept her body language open, wings loosely folded at her side. Seriav wasn't sure of the newcomer. True, she did look like an Angeni, and had the horn of unicorn, but that didn't always mean that she was going to be good.
The indroduction and smile went a long way to make Seriav feel better about the stranger, this Ku. Of ronce, she was glad she couldn't speak because the name sounded like a mouthful. Ku was nice, though, a pretty sort of name. And new here, apparently,
Seriav bowed her head slightly in greeting, not taking her eyes from Ku, but offering a smile of her own, bright and a bit carefree. She hadn't had to communicate without her bird fo a long time, and she was a little bit rusty. And it probably didn't help that this strange would have no idea what she couldn't actually speak.
She tilted her head back the other way, black hair waving in the wind. Her feathers tickled her necj, dried ink on the ends reminding her of the one who was coming. The sticks in her hair remided her of him too. Ser blinked her glowing eyes and wondered how to 'speak' with her.
Still with a smile, she used one wing to gesture at the markings on her throat and mimed speaking before shaking her head sharply, indicating that she could not speak. Ser didn't know if thi Ku would understand, though, and the whole encounter with the Angeni hybrid would hinge on her being able to understand Ser's part of the conversation. If she couldn't... then Ser would be slightly disappointed, but not surprised. Not many could understand her even when she had Vire at her side, translating. It would be an interesting turn of events if someone could.
So, she continued to smile, and repeated the gesture idly, nodding her head, and wishing, not for the first time, that she had a voice to speak with.

At first, Ser thought she wasn't getting her message across, as the other mare looked very surprised at how Seriav was behaving. Of course, that was to be expected. It wasn't very often, she assumed, that someone would find a mute Soquili. She had certainly never run into one before. And wouldn't that be a trip, each of them trying to communicate in silence. It would be so much easier if her Vire was there.
Seriav's mood soured a little at the thought of her familiar, knowing full well that he made interactions with others easier, even though he was a spy for her father. That he tried to make sure she never had any fun. Still, shaking off thoughts of him, she watched as Kuwanyauma seemed to process what was going on. It was good that she seemed smart enough to figure it out.
Smiling brightly, she nodded her head to answer the first question, using a wing to gesture at the markings around her neck again, trying to indicate that they were the reason she could not make a sound, not some other reason like illness or because she was being rude.
Softly glowing eyes sprang open in surprise at the next questions, and at the obvious concern in Kuwanyauma's voice when she spoke. Chiding herself silently, she figured that she had been spending too much time with her brother. To be surprised at a stranger's caring.
She shook her head sharply, though, denying that there was any trouble to be had. Ser smiled and shruged her shouders, wings fanning out slightly. It would be nice to express herself in other ways, but this is what she had to work with. At least, until her familiar caught up. And he would. Vire was very tenaious. He wouldn't allow her to be on her own very long.
Now, if she could only figure out how to tell Kuwanyauma her name, that would be a great way to start. However, barring the spontanious and highly unlikey return of her voice, sharing her name would have to wait until Vire arrived.
Until then, she supposed, she would just smile and try to answer yes or no questions, if Kuwanyauma would ask them.
Seriav felt she could lead the conversations in the right way, though. So, she gestured with her wing at Kuwanyauma, then flared it wide at the clearing around them, trying to ask what brought the mare there. She did remember Ku saying that she was new to these lands. That would make a difference in how she responded, if she guessed at what Ser was trying to say. Seriav also wanted to warn her not to stray too far from the path, so to speak. Her brother's lands were nearby, and he would not hesitate to harm her if he felt like it. One of the reasons that she'd flown this way was because she would be near Aveshar if there was any trouble. Smiling, she figured that there was either going to be trouble, or Ave would cause some.
Again, not something she could do until Vire arrived. Funny, how she didn't want him around, watching and reporting back to Father, but she needed him, or else the conversation would soon end, simply because she could not say anything.
Ser glanced at the sky, back the way she came, wondering when her fast little friend was going to catch up.
Leena-chan I will be bringing in her familiar, Vire, the next time it is my turn, so it will be a lot easier to communicate then. xDDD

Seriav was overjoyed that she could still commnicate without her familiar. She was going to fave to practice more so that it would be easier, so that she wouldn't be so dependant on Vire.
When Ku answered her question, guessing what Ser had to say quickly, Ser could barely keep her feet on the ground, she was so happy. She had had interactions with other Soquili who didn't understand her without her familiar, and worse, made no effort too. There was so much she had to say, with the tick of her wings, the slide of her eyes, the sweep of her tail. Most others she had met just... ignored or didn't see all the things that made up a conversation. It was frustrating when she could see someone and know they were lying, because they had a tell, or know when they were hiding something, holding back. Everyone revealed so much of themselves through subtle expressions and muscle movements.
Since Seriav was always silent, with no hope of ever uttering a sound, she was fascinated with anyone who was smart enough to understand her without her familiar. Only Aveshar could do it with great success, but then, he was used to paying more attention to things that most Soquili.
Tilting her head sllightly, she looked at Ku for a long second, depating how to answer that questions. In some sesnse she could be considered to live around here as she could get here quickly, once she stretched her wings a it, but it was always something she wass hesitant to admit to a strange. Though.
Watching Ku, though, seeing her curiousity displayed on her face, the open way she held herself, and Ser decided that the other mare was not hiding anything, not trying to advantage. With a happy grin, she nodded, glad for the yes or no questions, they made everything so much simpler. She gestured with a wing back the way she came, indicating that where she lived was back in that direction. It would really be hard to find, not from the air, should this mare need assistance.
Glancing back in the direction of home, though, she thought she saw something blue streaking through the sky. Hard to tell, of course, because the sky was blue. She blinked ones, and Vire was in her face, wings humming loudly, though she could barely hear them over the sound of his his breathing. Doing her best not to startle, she simply raised and eyebrow at him, like she was asking 'what took you so long'?
Vire was fit to burst, heartbeat pounding quickly, even for a hummingbird. Seriav had just taken off without a word, and there was no way for Vire to keep up with her iin full flight. It seems that the only reason he caught up to her at all was that she had stopped to speak to... some strange mare. Vire didn't pay the blue girl much attention at first, anger and worry jangling along his nerves.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, JUST LEAVING? DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED I'VE BEEN?" It wasn't until the words were out that he realized he was yelling, which was very unlike him. Still, it seemed to have some effect on his charge, her glowing eyes going wide for a second, then brightening in defiance. "OF COURSE IT TOOK ME THIS LONG. YOU FLY FASTER THAN ME."
Vire zipped backward enough to avoid the chiding nudge that Ser pushed at him, trying to get him to lower his voice, or more likely, stop talking. For someone who was forced into silence, she seemed the join the lack of sound a great deal.
Seriav raised an the other eyebrow at him, keeping her eyes firmly on him, though, not daring to look at Ku, for fear it would distract the little bird from what she was really trying to say, what the whole little trantrum had been about, really.
She wanted him to stop telling her father everything. Somethings were okay, she understand that Vire felt like he had to be loyal to his father, and therefore her father, but Vire was supposed to be her familiar, the one living creature that understood her completely, that she should be able to trust absolutely. Ser was tired of dodging him, of the fact his presence felt more like a lead weight around her neck rather that something that would carry her up. She let all this play out in her face, in how she held herself. The familiar would know what she was saying. She wanted him to be her friend, not her minder.
Vire hovered for a second, taking in all Ser was saying, before blowing out a sigh. He knew that if he did not agree, and he really wanted to anyway, she would just keep doing this, keep putting herself into potential dangerous situations until he capiulated or until she really got hurt. Vire hated being the go between between her and her father, was tired of tattling all the things Ser did.
"Fine, fine, you win. I won't tell your father, or my father, everything you are doing. I will still tell them if you are doing anything dangerous, and I will probably still try and stop you from meet strangers." It made his heart feel lighter to say, and he smiled when Ser threw her head back in her version of a laugh, front hooves leaving the ground for a moment. Though, with that done and settled, Vire set his sights on the other mare, a blur blur as he flew over to get into her face.
"Who are you and what are you doing here, with Seriav?"
Seriav shook her head, amusement playing through her eyes, as Vire rounded on Ku. She other mare didn't really deserve his attention, but it was okay. She had one this round, at any rate. Seriave stomped on hoof hard, Vire's attention flicking back to her to read her frown, and how she nodded her head, indicating all three of them, now that they could be properly introduced, they should.
Ser watched him sigh, wavering in the air for a second, so she lifted her head just a little bit higher, and Vire took that offer gratefully, landing gently on the top of her glowing horn, pausing to catch his breath. Ser would have to more careful with her movements now, but her familiar looked like he was going to fall right out of the sky. It was really impressive how he had caught up to her so fast.
Vire took a moment to catch his breath a little, sharp eyes flicking of the meadow they were in, before he lifted his head to look Ku in the eye. "I am Vire, bonded to the Lady Seriav Faythern, daughter of Ballad and Whistle. She wants me to introduce her properly, so that you know with whom you speak. Now, introduce yourself and state your reason for being here." There was a decently long pause. "Please."
Seriav word count: 735
Leena-chan Sorry it took so long!!! <3
