Kodama crouched down low to the ground. The element of surprise would be his best defense. In his mouth, the foal held a good sized stick, the tip worn and stripped of bark. The playful fox wiggled his scintillating blue sparkled rump. Dual orange tipped tails wriggled and shook with anticipation, trying hard to keep still so as not to give him away.

The field Kodama played in was green and fresh, with the crisp cool smell of new growth. A gentle breeze rippled across the grass. Parents for the young fox of a foal, were nowhere to be seen. Kodama only had a mother. Well, sort of had one anyways. Kodama's mother wished upon a star, and the spirits gifted her with a foal. Kodama looked nothing like his mother though. Ceremony turned out to be a strange parent. Most of the time, Kodama was free to romp around on his own, without a care from his mom. He is well used to fending for himself, and taking care not to wonder far enough away to get lost.

Kodama wondered if his mother would care, if she knew he was fighting dragons. Fire breathing, gold hoarding, princess nabbing - dragons! Fearlessly, he waited in the grass, eager to strike his foe.

A rustle in the grass beyond the young foal was heard, as Kodama listened carefully. His head moved forward an inch, as if to strike in response to the noise. Still, he remained at his current position. Gently, he adjusted the stick in his mouth, his mouth getting sore from holding it so long. That small rump wiggled again, and then he took off! Orange tipped ears pinned back, as he ran as fast as he could. Charging the front lines, a flock of black and white dragons took flight! Startled from the arrival of the large foe. Amidst the center, one brave dragon remained. It looked up at the purple fox, and squawked a mighty roar. Hoping from foot to foot, and flapping it's wings as the foal ran towards it.

Kodama had him now! He pushed forward fearlessly, weapon in mouth. Blue flames spilled from the sides of his eyes as he ran. Upon reaching his target, he launched the spear towards his foe. The branch flew past the dragon, and landed on the ground behind the it. "Got you!!" Kodama cried out.

The dragon, unhit, still feigned a great blow to it's wing. It wrapped a wing around the stick, squawked and flapped. Kodama pranced around the dragon. "Victory is mine! I have vanquished mine enemy! I have traveled far. Your castle was great, and your strength, mighty. All good things must come to an end, when reigned by the darkness in your heart." the young fox said as he marched. Part of his feelings, projected into the part about darkness being in the dragons heart. His own mother had darkness in his heart, but that was a foe he didn't dare try to defeat, for he loved her even still.

He struck a pose over the dragon, proud of all he had accomplished.

Empress Asterië had been to this field before. It had plenty of wide open spaces for one to relax and roll around in the grass. Though, being who she was, her parents never approved of her rolling around in anything. Nevermind outside of their watchful eyes and herd. And ESPECIALLY not in grass and dirt. After all, such a pretty Princess shouldn't get her perfect fur dirty. Today she didn't care though. Or at least not as much as she usually did. Why was that? There was something going on in the herd, a celebration of sorts. This meant she was able to sneak away. She had tried to convince her sister to come along as well, but the twin simply didn't want to. Not that Asterië could blame her. Their step mother would be beyond disappointed at her. And her lighter fur is much easier to see the dirt on her.

As she came into the edge of the field, closest to where her herd was staying, she saw a flurry of black and white feathers take off into the air. She wasn't sure why they would be taking off into the air like that. It was certainly unusual for this quiet area. Asterië's ears flicked back and forth listening for noises that would tell her some kind of dangerous Soquili, or other animal, might be in the area. Her nose started to flare, trying to find the scent of a potential Walker. Not finding anything out of the ordinary, she slowly continued into the field, on high alert.

As Asterië came closer to where the birds came from, she settled down, seeing nothing dangerous. The only thing her eyes came on was another foal. This foal seemed to have the same kind of darker star studded coat as herself. Which was certainly an interesting thing to her eyes. The next thing that caught her attention was the large twin tails coming from their behind. It made her small wings flap a bit in anticipation. She needed this other foal to come over and tell her about them. Needed to get a closer look at this other. In her herd she saw plenty of other foals, but being of a higher breeding, she simply wasn't allowed to play with them. Or her own sister really. It was more important for the girls to learn how to be royalty. To learn how to act and what was appropriate manners. It was a lot for anyone to take in, nevermind the sisters who have been taught all of this their entire lives.

Slowly Asterië actually came up behind the other, her paws softly touching the ground, and not making a sound. As she came closer, she gently cleared her throat, though not loud enough for the other to hear. She needed to clear her throat in order to prepare herself for what she was going to do next. "Hello there." She gently lowered her head into a bit of a bow. As she did this, out of nowhere, came her familiar, Castor. He has been with her since she was born into the world.

Kodama had not heard the approach of another foal, nor had he been paying much attention to his surroundings. The clear voice rang in his ear like a practiced song. It's gentle touch not startling him. He turned towards the noise. A big grin spread across his face as he saw another foal there with him in the clearing. Before he could even respond, or take note of their similarities, a strange critter bounded in behind her. "Well hi there to you. And you!" He grinned down at her critter, fighting the urge to call it by a pet name. Kodama did love all things small and living. However, a bonded familiar had far more intelligence than normal living fur friends of the forest. Most didn't take kindly to being called things like cute, or little, except by their own kind, or their bonded. Judging by the wild coloration, this was obviously no wild..otter? He thought it was an otter, but the horns were unlike any he had seen. The distraction of the otter caused him to near step on his friend below his feet. The magpie had enough of this game. It flipped over, bwarked, and pecked at one of his toes. "Ouch! Heyy.. Not nice!" he called down to the bird, as he shoved his nose into the birds chest, knocking it back over. The birds legs spindled in the air, before flipping back over, and flying off to a nearby tree. Kodama made a face at the magpie, and flipped his tails behind him in slight annoyance.

All this short time, he hadn't really paid much attention to the small purple filly. He had been too easily distracted by the otter and the bird. The scene of the bird misbehaving, caused him slight embarrassment as he looked back to the filly. The embarrassment quickly became a thing of the past though, as he took note of her unique features. "Oh wow. You have feathers!" Instantly intrigued, he sauntered over to her, and began to playfully dote on her. "That is so neat! You must be able to fly! Like a bird! You are so cool." He bounced a little at the thought of flying, and crouched his front end to the ground with his landing. Those two tails of his danced with excitement behind him. Realizing he might be talking to much, he lowered his rump, and rested his tails. Mother tended to bark at him when he got too excited, so he took a deep breathe and tried to calm down. He exhaled loudly, sating off some of his energy temporarily.

As he lay there, catching his breath, he took notice of the other features about her. She had paws like him, and a very similar coat color, with stars that spilled across her back. Not only that, they seemed to salt her bright colored mane too. Her eyes were not on fire like his, but they did shine ever so bright with a color not unlike his own. He smiled when he saw her tail. That was different! This being the first foal he had met, he quite liked that she was more like him, and less like his mother. He wondered if she was a wishing star child too.

Castor carefully considered this other foal. Clearly he was the overexcited sort, probably not good for his Princess escort. But it wasn't really for him to complain. He was a bit more of a babysitter, destined to be an advisor and helper for her later on in life. Asterië would need the help later on in life, no doubt. For now though, he turned his attention back onto the other foal. The little colt seemed to take a liking to him instantly. Strange... That was the one word that came to mind.

Asterië couldn't help the light blush that had started to creep up into her face. Even with all her training, she was still just a filly after all. And a filly with no experience with others at this point as well. As the Magpie squawked at this little colt, she took in a bit more of his form. They were so similar, but so different. Her eyes took in those large fluffy tails, the horns that reminded her a bit of Castor, and especially the fire he had in his eyes. Something drew her into that fire. Something she didn't understand. She needed to know more of this colt. Maybe, just maybe, this would be something of destiny. Smiling a bit to herself, she was sure that this would not be their only meeting. Even if this was their first. She could just feel it in her soul.

As he turned his attention back on her, she was a bit startled by his sudden enthusiasm. Certainly he wasn't taught proper discipline. Though that wasn't a bad thing. As he complimented her wings, the blush came back into her face. Stronger than before. She was sure that the young colt could see it spreading across her nose. "I don't think I'm all that unique. Wings are something that plenty of others have in the world." She cleared her throat a bit. "Have you never seen others with wings before?"

She watched him sit down and how his tails seemed to just lay on each side of his hind legs. It was truly amazing to watch those tails move. "Your tails are much more interesting than my wings. They are so beautiful with their colors... And they look soft..." The blush she had seemed to come even hotter. She wasn't sure why she had such a hard time talking to another. She had training on this kind of stuff. At least Castor didn't seem interested in saying anything to her. That was really important to her at the moment.

Carefully she came closer to the colt to look at him over a bit better. Placing her feet with gentle thoughtfulness, she wandered around him. Her footfalls didn't even stir the ground that they touched. Such was the extent of her training. Just as carefully she came to a stop directly in front of him, placing her feet close together in front of her and a bit further apart behind her. She had been considering sitting. And, as such, was simply staring at the colt with her legs frozen as they were.
