Future Dreaming (Ramiel X Phasianidae)

She had seen this prayer performed a number of times in her life, but it had always been from the perspective of the herd watching. Now, standing before everyone, listening to those words, hearing her and Ramiel's name within the prayer, it was a beautiful thing. Now she truly understood the joy that the previous couples had shown as they stood up here and had the prayer said for them. Her gaze ticked to Ramiel for a moment to see if he was as moved by the words as she was. It was hard to tell, Ramiel was good at keeping himself free of emotions on the outside, it fit well with his role as Guardian.

When it was her turn to speak, to acknowledge the words of the prayer, Phasianidae worried that her voice would waiver, not because she had changed her mind, but because she was so emotionally invested in this. She wanted foals more than every. Taking a calming breath she spoke. "I, Phasianidae, verify that the prayer has been made in good faith. That I will follow the path placed before me by the Oneiroi, and with Ramiel will raise the dream creatures that they provide us to follow in the ways of the Oneiroi." Now it all rested upon Ramiel, if he backed out now the consequences for the herd could be disastrous.

This was a prayer that Ramiel had heard many times in his life, but it was the first time that he had been mentioned within it, in fact the last time that he had been mentioned in a prayer had been when he assumed the role of Guardian and that had been a very long time ago indeed. He had almost forgotten what it felt like to be singled out in prayer, to be put forth for the Oneiroi to judge. It was..both intimidating and exciting, perhaps this one was even more so considering what it was they were praying for. Casting a quick look at Phasianidae the stallion could see how much she wanted this, it was written on her in way that no one could mistake and oddly Ramiel found himself wanting it just as much.

"I, Ramiel, verify that the prayer has been made in good faith. That I will follow the path placed before me by the Oneiroi, and with Phasianidae, will raise the dream creatures that they provide us to follow in the ways of the Oneiroi."

"Then the Prayer is complete, may the Oneiroi honor your wishes and grant us the blessing of Dreams made real." Drifa replied, completing the formal part of the ritual before turning back to the herd proper.

"At this time the herd may speak of any concerns or blessings they have of this pairing, the Oneiroi may still be listening and take such words into consideration when making their decision." With this statement the floor was opened to those gathered should they wish to say anything to the couple.

Today Phasianidae and Ramiel are going to be praying for dream creatures, foals. Nebula, because of her blindness never 'saw' it coming. If they were showing affection to one another she never would have known and so she fears she might have given off the impression that she wasn't happy that they have chosen to Pray together. So she wanted to make sure that at the ceremony she gave proper support for their decision.

She didn't know either then very well; as a newer Oracle she knew that Drifa would preside over the ceremony. So she listened carefully to the words that her once mentor spoke. Her ears titled forward, she let her mind wonder to the words. It was just the other day that Nebula had taken the time to think about her future. She was leaning very heavily toward wanting to have foals of her own but... Well she had been so busy training and working toward her current position as Oracle that she never thought about who she would take as a partner. However Magellanic had been very friendly towards her lately. Maybe this was a sign from the Oneiroi.

When Phasianidae spoke Nebula gave her head a tilt listening to her leader and then Ramiel. She listened to the tone of their voices. She could hear that they were both looking forward to the coming of foals. Despite not hearing Ramiel speak often. And from what she has heard the two would bring gorgeous, strong children. The thought of young life in the herd brought a smile to Nebula's lips.

When the ceremony ended, the young mare waited until the area cleared out before she carefully made her way toward Phasianidae and Ramiel. Even though she had been in this herd for a long time she still had areas she was unfamiliar with and had to proceed with some caution to avoid hurting herself or others. She following the voices and let her senses feel out when she was near the too. Hopefully not encroaching on their person space.

Nebula lowered her head in respect to both, her long purple falling forward. "I'm so happy for the both of you. " Her voice was gentle and proper. When she raised her head she did her best to look in their directions. "May the Oneiroi grant your wish, and may they be beautiful and strong like the both of you." She had no doubt they would. She stared off in their general direction for a moment longer before she lowered her head again. She could sense Drifa off to the side after speaking her well wishes, which she hoped would be happily taken she made her way slowly to move to the side.

Freyr hadn't been to many ceremonies since he had joined the herd and been prayed into reality, but he knew this was a very special occasion. There had been a flurry of activity to get everything ready for the ceremony and the herd was abuzz. Foals were coming...as long as the Oneiroi agreed to heed to prayers. Freyr was pretty excited about the idea of foals. Right now he was the only foal in the herd and it could be lonely at time. Oh, he had plenty of times spent with all the other members during his lessons and downtime, but having other foals around would be great.

He stayed quiet throughout the prayer, knowing it was important to let Drifa do her thing. When the prayer was over, Freyr waited for his turn to say something. "May the Oneiroi bless you with foals." He said to Phasianidae and Ramiel.

















As Shepard of the herd, Eudora was pleased to see that a couple was praying for foals. It had been a bit of a surprise when she found out that the couple was the Luminary and the Guardian of the herd, but seeing them together, she could tell that they would make fine parents and give the herd good children should the Oneiroi bless them. The green mare stood by Freyr throughout the prayers, for soon after they were done it would be back to lessons. The young colt had been adjusting well to his new life and was learning quickly. She truly enjoyed seeing the newest generation of the herd grow and learn about the Oneiroi. Should Phasianidae and Ramiel had foals, then she would have another crop of young members to teach.

When Freyr stepped up to speak to the couple, Eduora followed a few steps behind. Dipping her head to the couple she spoke. "May you be blessed by the Oneiroi with children and may they bring joy to the herd and yourselves." Dipping her head once more she ushered Freyr off to the side, to allow others the opportunity to speak to the couple. She hoped, prayed, that the Oneiroi would see them as worthy and provide them with the foals they desired.

Bru was rather pleased to see Ramiel standing up there beside his Luminary, the Guardian had truly come out of his shell since adopting the little dream creature Freyr and really Bru thought things would only get better with more foals around - plus who didn't love foals? Foals were the lifeblood of the herd, they were the future and the hope and having more of them around could never be a bad thing as far as he was concerned.

Plus..it was amusing the see the typically stoic and so in control Ramiel so completely out of his element, all prettied up and in the spotlight. Truly it was something Bru felt he could tease Ramiel about for a long long time and the opportunity to so pester his friend came about so rarely. Normally it was the other way around.

A slight glint in his eye Bruadair waited as others spoke before all by prancing towards the pair. To Phasianidae he offer a respectful nod of his head before turning a baleful eye towards his Guardian.

"Dear Ramiel, surely with your hide so wonderfully painted and your mane so beautifully styled the Gods will see fit to bless you with foals whose spirit will only be matched by your endless patience. " Bru spoke, and although he had made sure to let Ramiel know that his prettied up state had not gone unnoticed by the champions (who would no doubt never let him live it down) he was truthful and sincere in his hopes for a blessing on the pair.

"My Luminary, the gods could not bless a finer mare, throughout the history of existence surely there has never been a luminary whose light shone as bright as yours.." Bru spoke, his words eloquent and sincere before he nodded his head once more and with a wink to Ramiel trotted off with the rest of the dispersing herd.

Freyr watched as other herd members approached the couple and gave their blessing to the creation of foals should the Oneiroi approve of the prayer. He had always known that the herd worked well together, and wished for the same things, but this ceremony had certainly solidified that knowledge. This was a good place to live and he was even more grateful now that he had escaped the dream world, come here and be prayed into reality.

She could tell that Freyr wanted to stick around for a little while, to see what else might happen. But with the prayer done, the only thing left was for the members of the herd to give their blessings, or if they so chose, to voice their criticism of the couple. Though so far no one had said anything ill towards the couple or their prayer. She doubted anyone would, but sometimes it was hard to tell.

After a while, she nudged the grey colt. "Come now Freyr, the ceremony is all but over, and there are still lessons to tend to." The day had many hours left, and while the ceremony had been a small break for the herd, it was now time to return to ones duties. Casting a final glance at the couple, Eudora led the way back to the Shepard's grove to continue with Freyr's lesson. She would need to make sure everything was set for a larger group of students should Phasianidae and Ramiel be blessed.

Drifa waited as members of the herd filed by, most gave words of encouragement a few gave words of advice and thankfully no one raised any sort of concern about the pairing - not that she had expected such a thing but you never knew how some folks decided to react to things like this, she had been surprised before.

When the last of the herd had come and gone Drifa turned to the pair. "The herd has spoken and with luck the Oneiroi will hear your plea and bless you with the family you desire. Go forth and await the signs." She spoke before nudging them off and turning to the clean up. The ceremony was complete and the only thing left to do was wait for a response.
