Gourdi hummed an angry tune to herself as she browsed through one of her favorite shops in Four Fronds- a small, dingy thrift store specializing in used books, clothes, and furniture. It was a shop run by a happy redblood with two large tufts of hair gathered into pig tails at either side of her head. She was a chubby-faced troll with a large ugly mole at the corner of her eye, and The faint smell of old leather wafting around her... but her wares had always proved to be quite useful, thus Gourdi forgave the store owner for their low placement on the hemospectrum and the purpleblood did her best to ignore both the store's owner and its customers entirely as she browsed roughly through the plethora of fabric at the back corner of the shop.

Gourdi wore a floppy, wide-brimmed black moonhat atop her waves of dark hair and a pair of large circular dark-lensed glasses that, together, hid the majority of her face. The juggalo was doing her best to keep her identity a secret from the other patrons milling about the tiny shop, and she had foregone any type of hemotyped clothing or accessories like she usually might adorn. Preferring, instead, to drape herself in layers of all black cloth. She reached out a hand to touch one of the many fabrics, frowning when it felt more rough than she had expected. She stomped her foot and whipped away from the pile of linen.

What caught her eye next was an unexpected find. She raised one of her thi k brows as she surveyed the large book shelf off to her right. She tilted her head to read the titles shoved haphazardly onto the shelves. One in particular caught her attention and she moved towards it without a second thought- slamming right into another troll that too had taken an interest in the collection of cheaply priced books. She frowned at the trollish obstacle, her dark glasses now askew on her face after having been jostled by their collision. Noticing the child was a few inches taller, Gourdi pointed at the book she had taken such an interest in. A Detailed Description Of A Troll's General Anatomy as written and illustrated by Humpus Lumpur. "Retrieve that novel for me, ********> She said, without even thinking about apologizing for colliding into the other only moments ago.

It was unlike Stemma to enter an... establishment such as this. Ran by a lowblood, entertaining the consumption of fellow dirt-eating warmbloods, and a pock mark on the grander society of Four Fronds, too. Still, her curiosity did get the best of her every once in a while, when she had the time to indulge it.

"Certainly a thrift store in Four Fronds is better than one in Chittentown, Krampa," Stemma argued, though more to herself than to her lusus. Krampa was quite certain he could keep his charge safe in any situation. Taking his hand, she entered the store on a heightened alert, only to relax slightly when she found the book section.

Absolutely delightful! Stemma was excited to find that her curiosity was not unfounded. Interesting tomes that had lived many years. She of course had to be careful not to pick up any old propaganda, but she was fairly certain Krampa would also warn her if she picked up such a thing.

She reached for an old, thick book with an almost illegible cover. Fantastic Flora, Fauna, and other Natural Things, she finally deciphered. Curious, she opened to some of the middle pages, quickly determining if the material was appropriate to her standards. She was about to flip one of the thick pages, when she felt herself rudely shoved to the side.

Bristling, she whipped around to confront what she assumed would be a rude lowblood. She gave a scoff, giving the troll a once-over and closing her book with an exaggerated clap. She couldn't see any hints of hemotyping on the troll before her, which put her on edge. Still, the other girl spoke to her with a tone of demand unlike that of lowbloods or even midbloods. And to be wearing that much cloth? She had to have some considerable status. Perhaps she didn't need to leave the premises immediately. For now, she'd test the waters, and test this other girl's mettle.

"It would be in your best interest to mind your step." Stemma advised, generally polite but with a hint of venom punctuating her words. "You don't know what kind of troll you might bump into," Stemma fluttered her eyelashes, smiling dangerously. Hovering over the two, Krampa procured the book in question with a stern delicateness that was all too common for the lusus. He handed it to Gourdi with a gruff, standing defensively behind his charge.
