The sign is written upon the rock face in a dark charcoal high above the small area. Pools of water are scattered in the small area, and as you approach, you notice that the pools are murky or deep from what you can tell. It's impossible to see anything in them, and as you gaze into their depths, the passive voice of a kin rumbles nearby.
"Hello." He yawns, and motions to the various pools of water here and there. "It's a simple game. In each pool I have put an item. You dip a hoof or leg in, feel around, and tell me what you think it is. If you're right, you get a token." He blinks slowly before yawning again.
"It is simple no? Nothing should hurt you though, do not worry."

How to Play:
Rolling 2d100, line your dice results to the ones below. In order to claim your Token win, you must have RP'd the result in a minimum of 50 words!
First die:
1-10: You feel something slimy and your hoof nearly slips off it. 11-20: You feel something hard and it sounds like a shell of some sort 21-30: Your hoof goes into the water and you notice that there is a light tingling feeling like feathers but more alive. 31-40: You feel something mossy yet lacking in the familiar soft texture. It's brittle and well, cold. 41-50: You feel something very faintly brushing not you hoof, but your whole leg. As you pull away it almost feels likes its try to suck you back in. 51-60: You feel something attach itself to you then abruptly let go. You feel nothing after. 61-70: The water is cold, so cold all you can tell is that whatever you are touching is rubbery. 71-80: You feel something furry and warm. 81-90: As you feel around, you notice the water getting thicker and become darker, nearly black. Pulling away, you realize the water has turned to black slime. 91-100:You feel something that OW! It BIT you! It wasn't teeth though, more like a beak. A peck really.
Second die:
1-10: You give your answer to Deep Water Fears who smiles and very calmly states that while a good guess, that is not what you have encountered. (No Token) 11-60: As you tell Deep Water Fears what you think it is, he grins, pushing a token towards you. "Very good. Just keep it secret." He says with a wink. (Token win) 61-70: As you make your claim, Deep Water Fears just shakes his head, saying to try again later. (No Token) 71-90: Deep Water Fears notes your kins word with a long hum before pushing a token towards them. "You are very good at this. Please, try again a little later!" (Token win) 91-100: As you explain Deep Water Fears looks slightly concerned than says very slowly, "That is not.. I... I am very sure you are mistaken." Their look of confusion is only matched by their worried gaze to the pools themselves. (No Token)
Interactions with Deep Water Fears might earn cute arts. Or something he found. Hard to say. If you'd like interaction, just be sure to quote me!
It seemed unwise to go dipping your hooves into water when it was near freezing outside but he was built for such weather. After all, the icicles hadn't bothered him. This shouldn't either. Nut Smuggler picked a pool at random and shifting his weight carefully backwards, he submerged one thick hoof into the water.
It was... warm. That in an of itself was alarming as it was at the bottom of the pool of water but even as he realized that he noticed the water itself wasn't all that cold either. His first thought was possibly one of the rare salamanders that lived in the swamp but upon further inspection the solid object felt more... furry? than anything else. Nut Smuggler withdrew his hoof and looked at the dark blue kin before him. "It's a moss covered rock. One that's been warmed near a salamander?" That would explain the warmth of the water around it too.
Herbal Remedy nervously plunges a hoof into the icy cold water. It's so bitingly cold that he can hardly feel a thing and can only tell that whatever he's touching it's slick and slightly squishy. "Maybe it's a dead eel?" he guesses. Deep Water Fear's concerned response confused Herb a little, but either way he was wrong so he shrugged and walked away, wiping his hoof off on some nearby grass.
He was captured at the word "Mystery". Always up for a bit of adventure, especially something that promises to mysterious, Evermore finds himself at the edge of the pool, looking down, as he contemplates trying. Finally, he gives a small shrug, and a faint smile that seems almost dreamy.
"Let's see what happens."
He puts in one small hoof, feeling around, and cocks an ear to the side at the rather strange sensation. "Odd... I'm not sure if I've ever felt something quite like that, before. Is it, perhaps....a bit of ice, frozen pelt?" What else could possibly make it cold? The look of concern given his way, however, certainly melts his expectations of receiving a token.
"Oh... well, perhaps not, then. I suppose you couldn't tell me, could you? Would ruin the surprise. Ah, well... maybe I'll try back another time."
After watching the first few participants, Evolve stepped up to one of the pool for her turn. Slowly she sank her hoof into the water and began moving it methodically around to make sure she didn't miss anything. It was then that she felt something attach itself to her and quickly let go. When she tried to find it again, it was apparently eluding her touch.
The Kiokote retracted her hoof. "It's an octopus," she told the game host with blunt certainty and accepted her token.
"A...hoof?" asked Westward Bound, quite clearly puzzled. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to feel much - but - oh. Oh, some of those kin were dipping more than their hooves in. That...made a bit more sense. He guessed the point was really just to not look. He could do that.
He trotted over and put his hoof into the water obligingly when it came to his turn. Then he pushed it deeper, because it was barely getting wet. And...deeper again? Uh. He didn't really know what he was doing. Was there anything in here besides water? And...the bottom of the pool? Hm. Um.
He pulled his hoof out, a look of confusion on his face - but then quickly noticed the pool becoming blacker, and more viscous. That was concerning - but wait...
"Did you have ash and black sand bundled into a leaf?" Sun asked, gesturing at the pool. "I'm afraid I might have, ah...punctured it."
He took the token reward with some puzzlement.

More water? Of course Stump was going to investigate, and if he was going to bother with that, then he was going to play. So, he dipped his hoof into the water, shivered, and tugged it back out. Shaking his entire body, he tried again, but the cold water made it tough to know just what he'd touched. "Must be a mushroom that's been in the water too long," he guessed. "It's gone all hard and rubbery. Not good eating, that's for sure."
The shake of the blue buck's head was sure sign that Stump had guessed wrong. Ah well. There was always next time.
Thundersteps eyes roamed from the pools to the buck hosting the game and back again. He wasn't so sure he trusted what lay beneath the dark water. He didn't really trust water that wasn't clear...
Still, it was only a game. Thunderstep sucked in a breath and approached the pool. Thunderstep sticks his hoof into the nearest pool, touching something hard, and almost shell like. He tests it a bit before pulling out and reporting his findings to the buck. "There's a rock down there" Thunderstep nods, he doesn't want to assume its a turtle..or snail..or something worse. Rock is the safest hard thing he can think of. Maybe it's a crusty rock covered in shells? Shells of things...that had likely been eaten by other things..
Thunderstep shakes the thought off and accepts his token happily.
61-70: The water is cold, so cold all you can tell is that whatever you are touching is rubbery. 71-90: Deep Water Fears notes your kins word with a long hum before pushing a token towards them. "You are very good at this. Please, try again a little later!" (Token win)
Quailbeak was floating. He was coming out of this festival quite well. It was a good thing that he had that egg earlier, or he might have had to call it a day awhile ago.
He stepped up to the next booth. It had pools of water, and he had to pick one. He stepped over to one and stuck a hoof in to see if there was anything there. Brrrr. It was quite cold! He was committed, though, and kept feeling around. "Hmm, well... it must be a..." Quailbeak smiled.
"I'd like to venture a guess," said Soothe, with a little smile. She walked forward and dipped her hoof into the pool, and then - ah - um. She felt something hard, but springy. What could it - no, not a sac. "Ah - it's dried sap!" she said, eyes alight. "From...a tree."
Oh - she'd been right, then? Excellent. She nodded and turned away, glad that she hadn't fallen into the trap of guessing fish just because the buck had looked like a fish.
Streams of Silver stuck a hoof into the water, looking curiously for whatever it was was in there. She stirred her hoof a bit, waiting, until she felt a touch of something... yielding, and rubbery, and immediately retracted her hoof.
"It's an octopus. Was it a smart idea, putting one in here? They can crawl out of water just fine on their own," the doe said surely– she'd been to the shores to know that. Perhaps an squid, but she didn't think so. Still, the perplexed, and then anxious, look from Deep Water Fears, and his careful statement that she had been wrong– sent her away from the water.
41-50: You feel something very faintly brushing not you hoof, but your whole leg. As you pull away it almost feels likes its try to suck you back in. 11-60: As you tell Deep Water Fears what you think it is, he grins, pushing a token towards you. "Very good. Just keep it secret." He says with a wink. (Token win)

Kiss managed to find another booth where many have not played. Over here there were... Puddles? Or..? She stared hard and focused on one of the puddles of water. Is it shallow? Deep? She had no idea... But as she gazed she could not see past the surface for it was too dark.
There was an unfamiliar voice that greeted her and she looked up. "Hey" okay, what is it this time? First it was a lizardy kin, and now this? He looked very blue and so mysterious.
She listened to Deep Water Fears as he explained the rules and went to pick a hole to her liking. It felt wrong to dip a leg into them, but since he said it's safe, she sighed and felt around.
"Oh..." It was squishy and alive... She felt for it again to confirm with herself. "This is.... Definitely an octopus. And still alive." How did he even catch one.. Those things are like in the ocean. No one can journey back once they have ventured that far out...
He had handed her a token for guessing correctly. "Hehe, thanks," she replied with a creepy smile, "your secret is safe with me."
"Water pools, prizes at the bottom, gotta guess, yadda yadda! I get it!" Land Shark flapped her fins at the other fish-boy as she strutted past, sneaking a look back at that sexy tail of his. Sand would kick her tail if he caught her, but she didn't care. Not much, anyway. So, returning her short attention span back to the game at hoof, she pranced around until she found a pool of her liking. She sniffed it, she licked it, she plunged her whole leg in without a second thought. She fumbled around a moment before prancing back up to fish boy. "It's a coral thing! From the ocean!" She shouted with glee. The blue boy tossed her a token and she returned his wink with a toothy grin.
