[STAFF BOOTH] RISE & SHINE! Egg-Cracking Eggsellence! [OPEN]

Peaches and Cream was excited. He had heard about the booth, whispers travelling among the tribe members. Here was a chance for him to shine! He loved mixing eggs with his sweets.... although making them the perfect egg cooked in the same way it escaped the shell was another thing entirely.

He was up for the challenge, though!

Peaches and Cream snagged an egg to try his hoof at the booth, so to say.

Ugh! Shells! He was better than that! Peaches and Cream deftly snagged the shell pieces from his egg before it could fully cook. But at least the yolk was in one piece, that was something!

Mystery decides to give this a shot, and watches Best do his magic. She stares wide-eyed, and then contemplates how to maneuver her own clumsy hooves into working with her to achieve something. Honestly, anything at all. Sometimes she could barely walk on her own, let alone something as precise as cracking a perfect egg in two. She carefully steps up to the hot rock, and nods. "Okay... I'm ready!"

She steps up and cracks an egg, square in the center. It's ALMOST perfect, she thinks to herself... until a tiny chip of shell crumbles from the side and lands square on the yolk. She smiles oddly anyway, proud of herself that she was able to crack so well anyway on her first try. "Wow! Yay!" she cheers herself, and then watches as the egg sizzles away on the banana leaf. When its ready, she takes a bite, and swallows. Eggs were a rare thing to taste in the swamp, and she chews slowly, savoring it. "So good! Thank you! I shall come by again and try for that perfect crack!"

Shiny Thing looked around nervously as she approached Rise and Shine's little event. Paranoia was beginning to set it. It was more than coincidence now. The frogs were stalking her. No doubt about it. But, it did look like the site was mostly amphibian free. She did give the fiery salamander a wary look before reassuring herself it wasn't one of her stalkers.

And the smell of delicious food did help ease her worries some. The display of goodies set out was tempting, but the commotion around the hot stone slab demanded her attention. She watched as Best demonstrated his perfect egg-cracking technique and decided to have a go at it. If nothing else, she'd get a free meal out of it and who was she to say no to that?

"Mind if I give it a try?" She carefully picked up an egg, after getting the buck's approval, and held it over a stone. With a quick motion, she cracked the egg against the rock and dumped its contents onto a leaf. There were a couple piece of shell and some of the white had splattered onto the rock instead of the leaf. But, overall, a pretty decent attempt if you asked her. Snagging her meal from the hot slab, she quickly gobbled it up and pondered on where to go next.

As soon as Flower entered the marketplace her stomach growled loudly. She had traveled quite far to get here this morning and had been so excited she entirely forgot to eat. It didn't take long for her nose to pick up the scent of food cooking, so she followed her nose to Rise and Shine's booth. She licked her lips when she saw the eggs, that was one of her favorite things to eat! Not being the bravest or most socially adept of kin, she hung back and watched the Best's demonstration and observed the attempts of the other kin. She had never seen birds or eggs like these before, they smelled so good!

Finally she noticed a lull in activity and edged forward gingerly picking up a banana leaf and placing it on the hot slab. She tried to crack the egg as expertly as Best had, but the shell crumbled into several pieces rather than two neat halves. She did her best to pick out all the bits and was left with a pretty decent meal after all, and two tokens to boot! She profusely thanked Best and Pull Through for the delicious treat, but in such a quiet voice she wasn't sure they had heard her. Too anxious to repeat herself she decided to just slink away, hopefully unnoticed.

Blue Blood was not attracted to anything but the scent. Cooking things always was a surefire way to entice his curiosity and his hunger. He was just a simple kin after all.

Listening to the hiss of the leaf, he watched the demonstration utterly transfixed at what was happening breath catching as he watched the egg cook and the smell reached him. Forget it being a game, the smell alone was making him salivate.
"All right" He said, taking an egg as gently as he could in his mouth. Dropping the egg onto his leaf he was impressed with himself, almost forgetting to remove the shell. It was all in all a delight, and while he'd never considered a tribe before.... The eggs were tempting. Very tempting.

More Love had never really tried to cook anything. She was intrigued by the idea, though. Truly warm food? Most of what she ate, if it was warm at all, had been heated by time in the sun, not by a clever little salamander. And weren't they just the cutest?!

So she took an egg in her teeth as carefully as she could, and tok-toked it against the stone, just as she'd watched Best demonstrate. Miraculously, it didn't shatter when she did so, which was something, but she must have bitten down crookedly or something, as one half of the shell dropped away but the other fell in pieces on the surface of her egg.

She wrinkled her nose at Best. "Mmh. Crunchy eggs don't seem very appealing. Still, I guess it's a start! I'll try again."

Ok let's be honest. When you played as hard as Ducks did, you worked up quite an appetite and the smells coming from the Rise & Shine crew were just about murderous in their deliciousness. Ducks mouth was near watering when she finally got her turn to crack an egg.

Well that wasn't too bad! Frankly she was in it for the food so she'd have been pleased anyway it fell but still! There was a little wriggle of pride as she retrieved her cooked treat.

Fierce had never thought of cracking eggs to be fun before, it was a festival though! What could the harm be in trying something new? "Well would you look at that!" Fierce grinned at her egg as she cracked it, and managed to avoid getting shell in it. As an added bonus it tasted good too!

He couldn't stay away, the hunger from the first egg making him crave another. Trying his best not to just look plain hungry or guilty at his blatant interest in free food, Blue blood attempted to crack another egg as he'd done the first time. He was spot on and was even better, much of the shell removed, nearly perfect. Smiling at himself he let it cook before greedily munching his prize. Token or not, the egg alone was worth it.

False light was feeling peckish right now. And she maybe always in a foul mood, it's just going to get worst. Walking through the fair and looking for something to eat, she smelled something...delectable. What was that?

Her stomach rumbling and licking her chops, she wandered over to the smell and saw....eggs? And...chickens?

She doesn't know what any of these things are but they sure smell good. Wondering closer to the booth she saw...that it was a game as well? Well she will be getting food AND tokens here.

As she cracked the egg, like the game said, she didn't do it very well. For she left some cracked shells and broke the yolk add that.

"Oh well," she said as she ate the egg when finish (actually liking the extra "crunch" it gave), took her two tokens, and left.

Oh, she loved eggs! Waddling Duck stepped up and tried to mimic cracking the egg. It was so gooey. Oh bummer, some shells were in it. The doe cooked it anyways and then slurped it up. Who chews eggs anyways?

Mystery tries again and definitely messes up this time. Some shell shattered off all around the edges, a chip got into the egg on the delicate yolk, but she manages to carefully brush it off and dust the rest of the shells off before it manages to break anything! She watches it sizzle, happy she was able to do it again, but realized she needed to practice some more.

When it was finally finished, she took a deep breath of the amazing smell and then carefully licked it up and chewed the whole thing in her mouth. It was delicious. "If anything I'll come back for more eggs," she said with her mouth full, and glanced around. "Even if I'm not a master at it," she joked.

True to her word, More Love was back to try her luck at cracking eggs again. It was such an intriguing idea that she just couldn't stop after one sort-of-success.

She chose her egg, held it carefully in her teeth and then dropped the egg, hoping against all hope that it would go well.

It did!

"Oh. Oh! I did it!" The doe hopped in place and beamed at Best. "Thank you so much for showing me how! That is a wonderful trick!"

In her excitement, she forgot the prized egg. Not to worry, she doubled back, collected her leaf sheepishly, and hurried off again.

Distant Tidings was starting to feel rather peckish again, and the tokens he held carefully in his mouth were not ideal snacks. He could hear the sizzle of cooking egg just a bit away, and thought, yes, it was time.

"Hello, fellas," he chirped, depositing his tokens on the ground for the moment, and picking up a pretty egg. With an expert tap and twist - there it was, pristine, cooking on the leaf. With a rather smug grin, he picked the split shell off.

"Looks like I haven't lost my touch," he hasn't stopped grinning, "cheers, Best. Pull. Thanks for lunch!"

And the leaf would make such a nice little sling for the tokens.
