It was said with slightly widened eyes, a hand pressed against his chest, like a teenage girl thoroughly engaged in a crush conversation -- for about five seconds. Then it melted to a roll of his eyes, instead, his attention sliding down Liam and then back up to his face. "This isn't exactly high school anymore. Not that it's the real world either, but..." 	"I think so." The wariness was back again, tone darkening with a creeping grumpiness over the the prolonging of a very uncomfortable conversation. If he'd been more confident, he'd have been smug. Turning the fact that a pretty girl was interested in him back in the blonde's face. But he wasn't, so he didn't. He'd taken a small, unconscious step back at the drip of eyes, cheeks darkening just a touch, and all at once Liam remembered that he wasn't wearing a shirt. and be blue

	"She definitely never mentioned you to me." It was warm -- overly so, in fact -- mockingly so, even. There were implications behind it, and even if they were entirely true, they were designed to set Liam off balance. Nothing new here: this was probably a game that Austin had played before. Harper wasn't even remotely his type, had barely even filtered into the realm of fantasy.... Austin straightened, tugging his coat back into place and straightening out his scarf. 	Austin meant to prickle, picking at insecurities, and he had always been so good at it. Liam blinked up at him, trying not to let the doubts that statement drew up flicker across his face. She cares. She cares. She cares. He repeated it over and over, focusing on the curve of her smile and the taste of her lips. Maybe if they hadn't already spent so much time together. Maybe if they hadn't just slept together no more than a couple of hours ago, the biting comment would have dug a little deeper. It made him a little bolder, just a little. "You know I'm a heavy hitter." Baseball wasn't his sport, but he'd been good at swinging a bat. and be blue

	"If you say so, Liam." He put a healthy amount of doubt into his voice as he stepped around the other man -- almost immediately tossing the pen back into the air with an easy little twirl, as casual as he could be. Once again, Austin swept a look over Liam, just over his back this time, assessing as he went past. "Burn hot and fast." It was casually tossed over his shoulder, Austin apparently done enough with the conversation that he didn't even look back as he said it. beejoux

	It was as close to a win as he ever got. Which was to say, not very, but Liam would take it. He kept up his eye on Austin as he passed him, noted the way pale eyes slid down his back, and gave a small huff as he started for the showers again. Ignoring the comment Austin shot back at him. He didn't know what he was talking about. That was what it really came down to. He was just talking, just trying to get a reaction form the smaller man, and if he just didn't respond, he wouldn't be giving Austin what he was after. and be blue
