It had been a rather dreary day. The dragon boil had awoken to an empty bed and rain clouds in the sky which split open with a loud crack of thunder. Although the rain wasn't too bad, it actually had a relatively calming effect for him. He couldn't understand why, but when it rained he felt the most at peace.

Back home he would sit outside for hours watching the rain come down. Listening at the drops of water hit ground and stone. The rumbling thunder in the distance was like a low purr that threatened to light up the sky.

He decided that he would head outside. Sidron donned a heavy cloak that he often used in these situations. Pulling the hood up over his head to keep the rain from soaking his head and making him sick. While he enjoyed the rain he did not enjoy getting sick. Although that would give him a good excuse to have Amy come over and play nurse. Though being sick during that wouldn't be any fun.

So he stepped outside the dorms.

The rain wasn't too heavy yet but it was enough to create large puddles all around and make any dirt a goopy mess of sludge. The dragon took a deep breath of the crisp, moist air. Letting it go slowly with a sigh of satisfaction. And so he began to wander. But it wasn't long until his silent and peaceful wandering was interrupted by what sounded like some kind of barking. Orange eyes glanced around to locate the sound but he saw nothing.

Again the strange sound.

He turned his head towards the distant trees. It sounded like it had come from over there. The boil had decided it really was none of his business until the sound seemed to become even more desperate. Jack, ok. He'd go take a look. It was probably nothing.

Clearing the distance between him and the trees quickly he made his way into the wooded area. It was quite muddy and a bit slippery. If he wasn't careful he would end up face down in the mud. He stopped and listened. Again the strange barking noise. His head spun this way and that until he saw something moving at the base of a tree.Something small. Something covered in mud.

Something with it's head stuck in a hole at the base of the tree.

He approached the tree, watching the mud blob as it was struggling to pull it's head out. Sidron suspected that the hole it's head was stuck in was beginning to fill up with water. For a second he thought about just leaving it but had a change of heart. He couldn't just leave it there to suffer and die.

Sigh.

Reaching down with a clawed hand, he grasped the tiny mud blob. Giving it a few good tugs until finally it's little head popped out. And it went into a flurry of barking fits. It's head flailing back and forth as the dragon gripped it. How was it that something so small had so much energy.

He couldn't hold onto it anymore, it was super slippery. The mud blob fell to the ground, running in circles as it made that strange barking noise. Well, fine. So much for gratitude. Sidron began to make his way out of the trees and started heading towards the dorms. He was kind of muddy and wet now so going inside and cleaning up was the only thing to do now. As he reached the door he heard the barking noise again. Turning around his eyes narrowed. The mud blob had followed him....

"Shoo. Go home." If it had a home.

The creature whined. Wiggling it's tiny butt as it bounded up to Sidron. Working it's way through his legs and looking up at him with tiny, pleading eyes.

"No, go home to your...whatever it is you have." As he opened the door to the dorm the mud ball darted inside. Yipping and yapping at him as it got mud everywhere in the hallway. "Jack dammit I said go home..." It whimpered again.

Sidron let out a sigh. A very long, exasperated sigh before he reached down and picked the mud ball up by the scruff of it's neck. "Fine but you're not going to get mud everywhere." He pulled the hood of his cloak back before heading down the hallway to the bathroom. It was a bit of a struggle but he finally managed to get all the mud off. Wrapping the thing up in his cloak as it was still soaking wet from the bath. It shivered in the folds of the cloth.

When he reached his room he quickly went inside. Unwrapping the now ex-mud ball, grabbing a towel and re-wrapping it. Settling the little bundle on his large bed. He removed his own cloak and wet clothes, slipping into something clean and dry before he went to sit on the bed. Staring at the tiny eyes that peered back at him from inside the towel. He reached over and began to rub the towel all over the creature until he assumed it was pretty dry enough. So he opened the towel to get a good look at his tiny new 'friend'.

It was small. Black with white spots. It began to, what he could assume, groom itself. And eventually the wet looking creature was all dry and fluffy. Sidron sat back on his bed, getting comfortable as he listened to the rain pick up and pummel the roof of the dorms. The mini, finished with it's grooming slowly crept up to him, peering at the dragon from over his side.

Sidron quirked a brow. The mini shook until he boil gave another sigh. "Fine. Come on." With a yip the mini bounced onto his chest, making a few circles before finally curling up against him. It's tail flopping over it's nose as it settled down and closed it's eyes.

"I'm not naming you though, if I name you that means you're mine and I really don't want a pet...." But the mini didn't even seem to hear him as it drifted off to sleep.
