The Imperious Coliseum
This RP is open to all shop trolls. Trolls are not required to roll and may post as frequently as desired. Posts containing rolls must have at least two sentences of RP to be counted. If trolls interact with others and reach 500 words doing so, this RP can be counted for 1 RP point. Each roll watching fights or participating in fights at the coliseum does not (and likely should not) need to be a new day or long passage of time in character, and can simply be a new action that the troll takes any time after the previous action.
The A.L.G.
The Alternian League of Gladiaterrors is an organization run out of Four Fronds, with competitors hailing from all across Alternia. Traian Munera heads the operation in tight order. Gladiaterrors are contracted for regular appearances for entertainment, fighting each other for rank and status as well as higher pay. They are also primarily used to deal out punishments upon criminals, who are not considered to be official members of the Gladiaterrorial league prior to proving themselves via success in combat and popularity. While members of the Phoenix Initiative and other groups not endorsed by the Alternian government may join the League, they must keep their allegiance a secret if they do not break ties with such controversial groups, and most often enter as criminals with the odds stacked against them in battle.
Private selection of gladiaterrors for fights and other under the table dealings may very well happen in this organization, as hired muscle is plentiful and purchasable within ALG.
Housing is available in the Coliseum area itself; on-site housing is required for recently sprung criminals, and low-ranking fighters may apply for housing of not much higher quality. However, highly esteemed gladiaterrors are treated well and have cushy hives near the Coliseum, and are treated to special privileges. They also have separate preparation areas in the Coliseum itself for before fights.
The nature of combat is as diverse and terrifying as any Alternian bloodsport. Executions are frequently carried out in the form of entertaining battles played out for the masses. Representations of historic battles are recreated with criminals on the big stage, and grotesque displays of criminally charged trolls including wild animals, handicaps and special circumstances and even their own lusii may take place. However, many prized fighters may simply fight for sport in events put on by the League without risk of culling. These events have a huge following, and have become some of the most popular forms of entertainment in the Coliseum as they offer drama, action, and continued storylines to tease the entertainment-loving crowd of Alternia. In a typical event between established fighters and enjoyed by the casual public, fights are not carried through to the death.
There are also occasional openings for amateur fights in the Coliseum, and during these times outsiders are welcome to try their hand at a fight on the big stage. After all, the original purpose of the Coliseum was to celebrate Regina Marian's rise as Empress in a public Battle Royale. On that note, non-combat oriented events are also carried out here, often sponsored by the government.

About this location:
The lobby and stage area are always open for visitors, but during events trolls will need to pay admission (an in-character fee). Trolls may roleplay in these locations in this thread. Because of the nature of this location, it is requested that roleplays taking place in the private areas such as the backstage, the locker rooms, dormitories and preparation areas for gladiaterrors are played out in separate RP threads to avoid a lot of action in many different locations at once, especially while events are taking place.
The lobby contains merchandise booths, a concessions stand and plenty of places to sit or stand and wait for matches, as well as huge framed posters of previous gladiaterror champions and images of (of course) Regina Marian herself.
The ring is an immense and multi-purpose theatre space. It is highly customizable and state of the art, and features immense jumbotron screens for seeing the action up close. The stage can be reassembled to create all kinds of battlefields including scaffolding, natural landscapes, and can even be used to stage naval battles or bizarre and complicated obstacle courses.
When there are no Special Events going on, trolls can come and enjoy fights at the Coliseum. Roll dice to determine your wrestler's appearance and how they fare in battle, and make bets to get some credit rewards!
Dice Rolling Rules for Observing a Match!
Roll 5D8 to determine which fighter you'll be betting on, and the result of their match. Each die corresponds directly to one of the pools below. The fifth die determines what happens in their match! You are welcome to describe what happened during the match and how your character and the audience responds. For additional flavor, consider the opposing fighter to be the fighter generated in the post preceding your troll's.
Betting:
When rolling for your fighter and for their match, you can make bets on the outcome! Before rolling, guess if your fighter is going to win, lose or tie their match by changing your post style and state the amount of credits you would like to bet. A SHOUT post style means that you bet your troll is going to win their match. A WHISPER post style means that you bet your troll is going to lose their match. And a THINKING post style means that you bet your troll is going to tie their match. Due to a glitch on Gaia's part, styles other than Shout and Whisper are not working when using post actions. Please roll 6D8 instead of 5D8 if you would like to bet that your fighter will tie their match. The sixth die will not affect the results, and will merely be proof of your bet prior to receiving your results. If you do not use a post style (or in the case of a tie, roll 6D cool , you are considered to have not bet that round and do not gain or lose any credits from watching the round!
Winning:
If you correctly guess the outcome of your fight, you'll win credits! If you guess incorrectly, you lose everything! You get 2 free credits each new day you post in this location. You can bet on 3 fights per day. The payouts are as follows:
LOSE: 2x credits put in!
WIN: 3x credits put in!
TIE: 8x credits put in!

RESULTS
1. It's a blow-out! Your fighter steps into the ring and gets squashed immediately. Ouch. [LOSE]
2. Your fighter has a grand entrance, parades around the audience, and enters the match. The fighter who has been waiting while they showboat takes them out like the trash. [LOSE]
3. After being placed in the ring with a top-tier fighter, your fighter puts up a valiant effort before being knocked out cold. There they go on a stretcher... [LOSE]
4. Your fighter and their competitor square off and fight for a solid period of time before it appears that the other took a crushing blow... Then, out of nowhere, a second wind! The crowd goes wild as they get the slip on your fighter and take them out to the crowd's delight.[LOSE]
5. In a strange match, both contestants appear on the ring in a fury. They tussle, referees slide everywhere, and out of the struggle emerges... A disqualification. [TIE]
6. It's a long, arduous fight with a lot of close calls, and... Your troll comes out on top! [WIN]
7. Your fighter gets up there and -- what's this?!? The top troll in the card?! There's no way your fighter can pull out a win, but some sneaky tricks allow their victory. [WIN]
8. It's a veritable smack-down up there!! The audience is entertained for a solid fifteen-minutes before a winner is declared, and even after the audience demands blood. BLOOD!!! [WIN]

Example
I have 2 credits. I bet both of my credits that my fighter will LOSE their match, and use a whisper post style. In the same post, I roll 5D8! The result is:
3, 5, 2, 1, 3
So my fighter is a springy tealblood wearing a skimpy outfit and a mask. According to the 5th die (3), they lose their battle with the troll who was previously posted. Since I correctly bet on the loss, I gain x2 credits! (2 x 2 = 4). I now have a total of 4 credits. I can bet on 2 more fights today.
