Wren was waiting at a bus stop right off a busy road. Her boyfriend told her to wait there for him so he could pick her up when she got off of work. They only had one car, they were the richest of people. It was a bit chilly today. Wren was wearing a heavy denim jacket with a sweater underneath. It was less cold than it was windy, but Wren hated the wind. It meant she couldn't light her cigarette. "s**t man!" She muttered as she tried to get her lighter to light. She already had a cigarette in-between her teeth, but she couldn't get it lit so what was the point? Some other guy that was probably waiting for the bus overheard her struggle. "Here miss." The guy came over and cupped his hands around her lighter to help with a barrier. The lighter sparked to life and Wren was able to light her cigarette. "Wow thanks. You're a life saver." She said with a sweet smile. She inhaled the hot smoke until she felt it fill up her lungs. Ahh, the sweet smell of cancer. It truly did calm her. She'd been smoking since she was 13, and her mother was a smoker as well. Her mom had actually encouraged the lifestyle. If Wren ever came crying to her mom about a problem she'd hand her a cigarette and say "Here you little s**t. Now stop bugging me". Everyone was an addict for a different reason, and Wren was lost in the addiction of nicotine.

Josiah was late picking up Wren. They only had one car which they shared. He had class at the college and then he had to head over to his job right after so he had needed the car today. Wren had been fine with it and he had promised to pick her up. He was running just a few minutes late though and he hated to keep her waiting. He’d forgotten his camera in his employee locker and had to go back and get it. He could have left it and picked it up the next day and he would have been on time. For Josiah though leaving his camera behind was equivalent to leaving a child alone. Finally he drove up to the bus stop in their old rust car and honked the horn to get Wren’s attention. She of course was smoking and standing next to some guy. Josiah had never liked cigarettes very much but he loved Wren so he dealt with the smoking, He did wish she’d top though because he was worried about her health. Josiah was always worried about a lot of things but Wren was always number one on his list.

When Wren spotted their car coming closer over the horizon her face lit up. Josiah was finally here. He honked the horn which startled Wren a little bit since she already had seen the car. She quickly re-composed herself, and smiled towards the car. She put her finger up signaling for him to wait a sec. She quickly took another drag from her half-smoked cigarette then put it out on the ground. She tucked it safely behind her ear then jogged over to the car. "Hey babe." She said as she ducked down into the car. She sighed then shut the door, but she quickly rolled down her window. She new she smelled like cigarette smoke, and she knew how much Josiah hated the fact that she smoked. She cleared her throat as she looked for some gum in her backpack. When she found it she popped a piece into her mouth. "So how was your day?" She asked, then started chewing away at her gum.
