[PRP] Being Diplomatic (Aya/Kae)

Ayane gently placed the basket down beside the tree on the outskirts of campus. Normally she would have sought a place with more creatures to listen to her play - but it had been awhile since she had picked up her ruan, and she did not want to risk the shame to her pride if her playing was not spot on. Pulling the blanket out of the basket, she laid it down beneath the tree, then slowly sank down onto it, tucking her feet under her as she rested on her knees, back against the tree.

Calling her ruan took her, she slowly tuned the instrument, taking her time and giving it the sweet and tender care that it deserved. It was an old instrument, but well cared for - having been passed down from mother to daughter for generations untold. Once she was sure the instrument was in tune, she began to play.

Her sigh of relief was almost audible as her playing carried across the air, the sound of the ruan's strings sweet to her ear. She was content, and completely focused in her playing now. Her only regret was there was no one else to hear the beautiful instrument but her.

She'd been exploring the area, simply put. Wandering was her... typical excuse. She just walked. Cras might fly out ahead of her, land on the branches and wait for her to catch up before he'd move along or return to her shoulder. The reaper just... wandered. Just followed her gut. Things always seemed to work for her that she'd just... end up where she needed to be, far as she was concerned.

This time, that seemed to be just in the right spot to hear music on the winds. Cocking her head and glancing to her familiar, she followed the sound, bare feet barely making a sound against the forest floor. The music sounded quite nice, and she'd not heard much like it--least not that she could place. Cras moved on ahead, letting out a caw of greeting to the oni when he'd spotted the performer.

Though it took his reaper mistress a while longer before she caught up, eyeing the raven that had perched further up on the tree watching the female playing the... instrument. "Sorry, hope we're not interrupting. Heard the music and wanted to see the source." The reaper eyed the oni, keeping a distance until she knew what was acceptable or not. She didn't exactly feel like picking fights for the time being.
