Xanatos cleaned the last drop of blood from his paw, savoring the taste. It was all that remained of his dinner, and he was feeling very pleased with himself. The hawk had been difficult to catch, as most winged things were, but he had prevailed! His skills as a hunter were increasing each day. It wouldn't be long, he decided, before he would be ready to face the evil cow that had made his early years such misery. He smirked to himself as he ambled away from the pile of feathers that made up the only evidence of his conquest. Filled with confidence and perhaps too proud of himself, he lost himself in fantasies of what he was going to do to his mother when he got his claws in her.
