The day was bright and sunny, but, unlike most phonies on this day, Jigglybean's mood did not reflect the weather. While he was thankful that the snowy days of winter were finally coming to a close, and that the marketplace would soon be filled with phony-run stalls holding an abundance of fresh fruits and spices for him to use in his candies and pastries, Jigglybean was fretting about an entirely different matter altogether. He was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to find anyphony to befriend. The little purple-eyed, brown-bodied, and teal-haired phony was quite young yet, but he was still old enough to know that he should have made at least ONE friend by now. That is, if Jigglybean were a normal phony. Normal phonies go about and socialize all of the time. Lately, however, Jigglybean had been stuck in his little kitchen, busying away at perfecting his latest candy recipes; cherry-lemonade gumdrops, chocolate covered peanut butter sticks encrusted in crushed hazelnuts, and some super-special lollipops that shifted between flavors as they melt in your mouth. He was quite happy with the results of his labor, and he was now carrying two satchels on his back that were filled with his latest-and-greatest treats, and also some of his oldies-but-goodies.
"Maybe somephony would be interested in tasting some of my delicious new candy?"
Jigglybean continued down the road, smiling at the prospect of sharing his candy with somephony. With a new spring to his step, Jigglybean continued down the path.

Candy Dandy should be fat.
Not the mild paunch you see on babbens and other phonies who had a rough holiday season, but grossly overweight given the amount of sweets that she consumes on a daily basis. She's on a perpetual sugar high.
But how is she not? Running.
Candy loved to run! After realizing that being inside all day wasn't helping her health, the candy maker decided that daily exercise was a must. So she began running.
This was what she was doing on this lovely day, trotting along the busiest pathways of Phonyland. . She hummed to herself between breaths. It felt good to get the heart racing!

Jigglybean, with his lack of experience in social situations, was feeling quite distressed at the mere thought of approaching another phony, much less opening his mouth to offer them some his sweets.. until he came upon the outline of another phony in the distance. He stopped briefly, growing queasy at the sight. It looked like a mare... and she was approaching quite quickly. After taking a deep breath, he trotted his way up to her with a small, shy smile before raising his right forehoof, as if to silently ask her to slow down.
"Would you like to try some of the candy that I made?" Jigglybean had asked. His voice was so quiet and shaky that it was unlikely that anyphony had heard him. It's not that he was nervous about allowing another phony to try his candy - he was extremely confident about his candy-making skills, and did not doubt their quality in the slightest-but he was definitely not so confident about his friend-making skills. His specialty was making candy, definitely not friends!
"What if they don't like me?" he thought, and he could feel the butterflies rushing out of his belly and into his throat, creating a speech-inhibiting lump there.

Candy was so busy jogging, she didn't register the tiny voice coming from Jigglybean asking her for candy. She trotted right on by. The thing that stopped her in her tracks was the smell.
Candy Dandy had a nose for sweets. Some might say a super sniffer. And it was the waft of sweet perfume that caused her to spin round and look back and forth.
She spotted a youngster looking at her, and felt self conscious. "Did you say something to me?" she asked, deciding that the smell was coming from his packs.
