It wasn't often that Saren was allowed out of the pride, but as a special treat for behaving well, his Dad escorted him across the border. It was unfortunate, though, that he couldn't come and go as he pleased. Well, actually, he just couldn't really go. Not that he would ever just run off without permission or something - he was raised better than that! Still, he was supposed to stick close to Chozi, but that... just didn't happen.

The speckled Cheetah turned his head for one moment - a small, barely noticeable distraction - and Chozi was gone. Well, a bit more than a little distraction really. Saren had spotted something moving from the corner of his eye, and he wandered away from his cheeton father. He couldn'gt really be blamed, right?

Still, he was by himself now and he would take this chance to explore the new area. Saren had grown up in a barren land and the lush green of the plains was a huge change. He had been told storied - mostly by his three story-telling siblings - of forests and spanning rivers and wondrous things that he could never imagine. Celes even told him the barren lands had once been filled with water, covering the entire lands, but he couldn't even imagine that.

This new place, though, was real. He could feel the grass between his toes and the smell of moisture in the sky. He hoped it took a while for his father to find him, at least.

When she'd first re-found her father and then joined up with a pride, the young cheetah had been fairly well content. She'd had a little bit of family around her; she'd found a nice job helping transport goods back to the barren and cold lands the pride lived in. Farai now found herself too comfortable, almost bored by bringing in what others found. True it was her job, but if felt like the gatherers didn't appreciate her. It was hard to do a job no one thanked you for.

The cheetahess had decided to go out into the roguelands just for some time to herself. She'd had half a thought to go out and find something wonderful to bring back that would impress the others. It was a foolish dream but it was in the back of her head as she walked. Her pale eyes scanned the surrounding area for anything that might be of use to her pride. Movement in the distance caught her attention. Farai curiously moved toward it until the shape formed into a male cheetah. She hesitated.

Should she approach or keep her distance? It wasn't clear if he'd caught sight of her yet or not. She'd had some experience in the rogue lands before reuniting with her father. Not everyone was friendly.

Despite finally wandering away from his family, Saren was kind of... lost, really. He had never truly been on his own, and he decided it was kind of strange not to have the constant chatter of a sibling or pride members distracting him from the daily lull of life. Still, he was sure he could find something to do - explore, definitely!

He could absolutely find something, of course. This place was a whole new world to him, after all. He decided he liked the feel of the grass between his toes. He hoped his home would have grass soon - his father promised that he was looking for a solution.

When he glanced around again, looking for a direction to go, he spotted something - or rather... someone! "Hello!" He called out cheerfully.

A cheery hello called out to her. Someone cheerful. That's exactly what she needed. With a perk of her ears, Farai approached the cheetah male. "Hello to you too!" Now that the initial greeting was over she felt at loss for words again. Curse her new frozen pride. It was numbing her mind. Farai tried to smile so he wouldn't notice her awkwardness. She just wanted someone to see her as Farai and not a thing that took their catch back.

"How are you?" It was the best she could come up with. The female stopped far enough away to talk, but not invade any personal space on either part. She played her paw in the grass. So much different than snow under her paws. For one, it didn't require her to watch how cold her feet got. Snow could get tiring in its own way. Somehow it didn't seem to affect her father. Maybe it was his white pelt?

Saren was a chipper young Cheetah, though sometimes his home thought he was a bit of a troublemaker. It wasn't his fault he couldn't really sit still! The speckled cheetah bounced on his toes a bit with his pent up energy. "I'm great!" He told her. "How are you? Are you from around here?" He asked. If she was, she probably knew the best places. He only had a short amount of time before his dad found him, or someone worse. Like a guard, or one of his siblings. Despite his bouncy cheer, Saren kept his distance a bit. He had been swatted at a few times to know not to get too close.

He took a quick glance around with his mis-matched eyes, looking for anyone from the pride that was looking for him.

She had to grin at this enthusiasm. Farai decided to put her troubles behind her and enjoy her time out. She gave her scruff a quick shake to throw off the last of her gloom. Watching him bounce on his toes reminded her that she hadn't had that much energy in a long time. "I need a pick me up! How about a quick race?!" Farai thought that would help her get her blood flowing again. She crouched down, ready to run soon as he said yes. "Not really from around here. My home is always covered in snow. What about you?"

She hadn't considered if he was from here or not. The cheetahess followed his gaze as he looked around. "Are you looking for someone?"

Oooh, a race sounded so fun to the bouncy male Cheetah. He wasn't sure how far he could run though, or if his dad was still looking for him. Saren could easily find and return to the pride as soon as the race was over or something.

"A race sounds sooo fun," he agreed easily. "My home is that way," he gestured with his paw. "It's covered in sand and dust, and not much else! it's kind of boring. That's why my dad brought me out here, so I could explore."

He didn't mention that he was supposed to stick close to Chozi, but that didn't really matter, right? Chozi would find them maybe, and he would get scolded but he had a chance at a friend and a race and that sounded so fun!

So so sorry for the long delay! Are you still interested in breeding them? I'll make an effort to get her rps done.

Farai glanced in the direction the paw pointed. Almost as if she suddenly expected to see a pride appear on the horizon. Of course nothing did. Sand and dust; it sounded so different from her own home. "Is it very hot?" Even now she was realizing she was slightly uncomfortably warm. She wanted to pant, but refrained. Farai found herself amused that both of them were exploring far from home.

"Great! We'll race to that big tree down there k? On your marks, set go!" With a wiggle of her rump she was off. Farai didn't expect really to win, but a fun race with a new friend made her happy. She decided she would let him win, but that didn't mean she'd make it easy for him.
