A cold wind blew from the north east, where the vast mountain range loomed, casting shadows upon the lands at its base. He was far enough away from the mountains that they appeared to be nothing more than hills, but he knew them for what they really were. The stallion held a sort of respect for the unmoving rock, for many died each year trying to cross the range. Blood soaking its earth was a common occurrence that in some places the rocks had been dyed red. Or so the stories went. He wished to see this blood stained canyon, but it would have to wait, for he was still searching for suitable carriers to be the mothers of his offspring so his Vengeful Goddess mother could have her minion army. Vortigern de Morte had found a few mares that were promising, and had told his mother. She was still deliberating, but she knew what was best.

One mare he had met on a hot day at a lake, she fascinated him and the other was a queen. Not quite as regal and awe inspiring as his own mother, but she would do. Who would be the third mare? What traits would draw him to her or her to him?

The stallion had traveled all over Kawanii; he had been a prison guard/torture expert, a fake ally, and so many other wonderful things. During that time he had gained more skill in his poisonous art, sometimes it seemed all the fun had come out of death, so he concocted new poisons that would kill their victim slowly and painfully.

It was beginning to get a little more difficult to travel now; the wind, catching up with the changing seasons, had burned her face as she walked, hooves crunching deep into the snow. This journey had no end, but a little bit of cold air didn't scare her away...there was too much to do. That blasted fool of a stallion had finally left her in peace. It had been a blessing, the day he left, and the mare reveled in the solitude that followed, but she couldn't help but feel a tad....disappointed. His persistent, misguided admiration for her was endlessly tiring, and she hated every second of it, but...well, he was company. Ugh, no, she couldn't possibly think that way! No! He had been annoying! Ugh! Giorgia shook her head in disgust, the lingering memory of Bly creeping up on her unexpectedly. She absolutely refused to give that stallion the time of day, let alone allow him to occupy her thoughts!

In reality, Giorgia was disappointed because she now lacked a victim - a soul to corrupt and potentially kill - and she was back to square one: finding someone new. The task wasn't difficult enough, there were plenty of foolish stallions who were blinded by her beauty enough to fall for her tricks, but she was growing tired of having to put on that front in order to trick them. She was not...violent, necessarily - just mean and cruel - and couldn't very well hold her own in a fight, so she couldn't outright kill her victims. She instead brought them in harm's way, and let nature take it's course. It had been that way since she witnessed her first death as a very young mare; a pretty little mare much like herself had fallen victim to a kalona, the screams of terror and pain echoed through Gigi's soul and woke up a monster within her, and she'd never been the same. Tracking skinwalkers, kalonas, and otherwise vicious soquili had become her hobby - and helping them catch their kills was her obsession.

She was aware it could bite her in the rear one day, but she didn't care - it was far, far too much fun. Plus, she was intelligent enough to stay far enough away once the killing began - it was really only the screams that she craved. So much so, a thought had occurred to her - a thought so sinister, she had surprised even herself. It hadn't been that long ago that she stole her younger brother's from their baskets, tearing away deep into the forest to raise them as little minions - and together they successfully murdered their own father, his screams still echoing in her ears.

It brought a smile to her face, to think about it. Yes. She did indeed miss Bly, if only for the missed opportunity to hear him screaming as he took his last breath. Ah, what a disappointment.

He was quite the actor; he could pretend to be the dashing stallion coming in for the rescue when in actuality he was the beast that they should be running from. He enjoyed toying with his prey, experimenting with his poisons upon their flesh or in their food. His favorite were the slow agonizing potions that seemed to melt the insides of the victim, their hope of survival would drain from their eyes with each passing day until they were nothing but a husk of themselves. Their screams of agony, of a life no longer to be lived, always sent shivers down Vortigern’s spine. Perhaps before finding a suitable womb for his mother’s minions, he will find a new plaything, just to curve the urge.

On the horizon an outline of a soquili appeared. His wish had been granted, a new plaything was only a few minutes away. With a giddy skip to his step, Vortigern nearly pranced to the shadowy figure. He was like a moth to a flame, except the flame would soon learn that the moth had no intention of being burned.
