Welcome to the first cub contest for the Mlima Tuokoa!

One of these two boys will likely become very important in the future, but instead of just giving them to a friend, I'd like to give them both away through a roleplay contest.

Due to the potential possible rank one of these boys can obtain, I would like them to be active and be around for plotting with Ann. I don't mind if it doesn't work out and neither become her betrothed, but the character development is something I really want and is the reason I bribed for this breeding. Please be around and willing to plot if you enter, thank you. <3

Both of these cubs must remain in the colony. They cannot leave without my permission.
There are no naming rules, but there are traditions of using alternative old English names that fit SoA's naming rules, as well as naming a child after an ancestor, or a slight variation of one.

These two cubs will be taking open ranks: prowler, guard or priest, when they hit adolescent in the Mlima Tuokoa. They also have the potential to later become a consort.
Their mother is extremely proud of these cubs and will be giving them all the love in the world that she can possibly give to them. Sadly though, work will take her away from them more often than she'd like and without a father around, the cubs will be spending a lot of time with a nanny or other members of the colony. As a prowler, they won't have the best stuff in the world, but they will have a sort of sponsor in the form of Saikhan, who the cubs can spend time with when their mother is away hunting.

Saikhan has taken an interest in Suk'tamu, if only for the simple fact that Eduard, her husband and brother to Elisheba, has as well since the moment the female leopard was rescued after the avalanche. The lady is infertile, unbeknownst to the entire colony, including her husband, so she will have a special interest in these four cubs. In fact, she'll be pushing Suk'tamu's cubs to becoming playmates with the royal litter, and even going so far as to try and set up one of these two boys with Ann, the crown princess, on Suk'tamu's behalf. Unable to say no to such a kind offer, these two boys will have the potential to become betrothed to Ann.

Name: Christoff
Meaning: None really
Future Rank: Guard

Personality: He is very sure of himself, for sure confidence is not something he lacks. Being selfless, he will often put others before himself, helping others with just about anything they need. He considers it his duty and responsibility to protect any and all who need him. To most, he can be seen simply as a very confident protector, but to those he is close to, he's a sweet silly push over. He enjoys playing various silly games and often daydreams when he's not working.

Your mother just informed you that lady Saikhan has set up a playdate for you and crown princess Ann. You'll be by yourself, but apparently Lori, the ever-watching raven guardian of Ann's will be there and keep tabs on you both. This will be your first time meeting Ann. Are you nervous? What do you plan do to do during your playdate?

Christoff was a bit nervous about this particular first visit. Although he enjoys meeting plenty of new lions and generally doesn't keep his mouth shut after a few minutes with the new lion. This one would be different though. This was a Princess. The Princess. He wasn't really sure what he would do with himself if she didn't like him! She at least had to like him for this one visit. Though he really couldn't see why she wouldn't like him. He is certainly nice. And he likes to talk! She was bound to like him. What would they do though... A game would be fun. What kind of games would she like? Maybe a game of tag. A game of tag would be fun after all. Though what would the raven do? Would the raven play as well? Or just watch and report how well they got along? He hoped that the raven would play at least a little bit. After all, a game of tag would certainly be much more fun with three instead of just two!


As a note, if I get chosen and there is a problem with his name, I will be happy to change it. I like the name, but wasn't sure if it really fit the theme.

Name: Aleksandr
Meaning: A form of Greek Alexandros, meaning "defender of men."
Future Rank: Prowler

Personality: He is a typically boistrous boy as a young cub. Always looking for something to do and easily bored. He loves new things, be they people, items or experiences.
He is at heart a kind male, with a honest, humble manner which will show itself as he grows. He has no great asperations to become any kind of hero, but he will help anyone in need, quietly going about trying to make the lives of those around him better. Though if asked he refuses any claim to greatness, saying he only does what any decent leopard would do. As such he takes the role of Prowler like his mother, proud to be able to provide for those less able. He will often be found making extra trips in order to bring food to those most in need, either injured, old or sick. If he sees a way to help he will do so, regardless of any personal risk or loss of comfort.

Of course he was nervous! He hadn't had much chance to play with anyone but his family and now, everyone was whispering about the playdate in husked tones. Yet when he asked what was going on they smiled and made soothing noises.

What was with the secrecy!

Oh, he hadn't been worried to begin with. He had been excited at the chance to make a new friend. And it being the princess was just extra cool! After all who else could say they got to play with the Princess? He wasn't too sure why everyone made such a fuss but they seemed excited, not worried, so he hadn't concerned himself. But now the whispers were starting to get to him. What did they mean? Was she mean maybe? Would she tell on him to her mother and get him into trouble? Or... maybe she was really ugly!

Wrinkling his nose he peered up at the two gossips near by. The moment they noticed him they stopped talking and gave him bright, knowing smiles.

What the heck?

Growing more and more worried about the playdate he sighed heavily and returned to his sleeping brother. Well, if it was really bad he would simply get her to play 'hide and go seek' and then hide where she couldn't find him. With this plan in mind he felt much better and curled up alongside his siblings to rest.

Maybe the day would be fun after all...

Name: Ekhlekh
Meaning: Beginning in Mongolian
Future Rank: Guard

Personality: Ek tries his hardest to be a knight in shining armor. Really, he does. To anyone, in fact. Saving a damsel? He's up for it! Would probably charge in without thinking, really! That is... until his lack of planning gets them both in deeper danger. Ek is the type to put his whole heart in anything he does, only to have it back fire and muck up because of a clumsy mistake. However, he's not one to let that get him down! Despite his lack of success in getting anything to be, well, successful, Ek is the type to stand up and try, try, try again. He's also close to his brother, Etssiin... though, as time drags on, their similar affections will drive a wedge between them.

"Oh man, we're going to meet a princess," Ek told his brother excitedly, tail twitching with nerves. He's heard mama talk about the royal family.. knew he was going to meet them, eventually... but still, it set him on the edge of anticipation.

He wasn't exactly nervous, however. The guardian, he decided, was to be expected. All in all, Ek was quite positive that there wouldn't be a damper on the fun.

Did she enjoy playing? Burrowing into the snow? Did she make a game out of catching snowflakes with your tongue? And a test of courage to see who will like an icicle? Boy, Ek was excited. He couldn't wait to ask her such things.

Perhaps, during the playdate, he could show her their secret hiding spot? The guardian shouldn't mind... should she? Ek frowned a bit over that. Surely not. If they invited the guardian along, it should be no problem!

((This is sorta kinda plotted in pair with Bull. I can easily adjust, it's just... some plot fever that attacked me. > 3> Plot fever being; they compete for Ann's affection and, even if one does get betrothed, the other still pines for her adoration. ALSO HAD MORE IDEAS, BUT I'LL SHH FOR NOW. )

Name: Herne
Meaning: In Celtic, the name Herne means- Mythical hunter god.. Other origins for the name Herne include - Celtic, Irish, English.The name Herne is most often used as a boy name or male name.
Future Rank: Prowler

Personality: Herne is a very ambitious young cub, always looking for ways to learn how to be better, faster and stronger. He is a proud young lion, especially when he grows up, to the point that it can turn into an ego problem. He does not have very many self-esteem problems and is very sure of himself. He walks with a stride of arrogance that he does not bother to hide from anyone. He has a very serious nature when it comes to learning and doesn’t care much for playing, even when he is a child. Even though he has these flaws, Herne is devoted to his pride, his family and the friends he makes. He isn’t conceited enough to not realize that he is hard to deal with at times which makes the friends he has, so much more important. He is actually very sweet when you get passed how brash and egotistical that he is. Herne also has a tendency to be a romantic, something he hides until he reaches adolescent and adult.

Herne had stared at his mother when she told him of the playdate. It was trouble in his opinion because he could be doing other things, he could be practicing his stalking and hunting so that he would be ready for when he grew up. He felt like arguing with his mother, telling her he didn’t want to go, that his brother should go instead but he knew that wouldn’t work and he’d have to go anyways.

Laying down, Herne realized slowly that there must be something else hidden behind this playdate. Not many cubs were given playdates with the crown princess, perhaps there was a chance for him to show off for her. A smile formed upon his lips as he thought all of this over. They could play tag, hide and seek and maybe he could even show off by catching her guardian. With all of this planned, Herne realized he wasn’t as bored with the idea as he had been, he wasn’t finding it bothersome anymore. He moved closer to cuddle with his brother and deep down he realized he was excited, there was a chance for him, a stuck up and egotistical cub, to make a friend with someone who wasn’t his brother. It helped the young cub to drift off to sleep quicker.

Name: Etssiin
Meaning: End in Mongolian
Future Rank: Merchant

Personality:
Etsy isn't the best. Not at all. But he tries to make it seem like he is. With a sharp tongue and a coy smile, he tries to get others to do his will. Convince the others that he can do a multitude of tasks, even though he, at best, can only do the bare basics. If even that. Manipulative, he tries to get his brother to do any dirty work, as well as anything that he doesn't want to do but wants the credit for.

However; where Ek is a "knight in shining armor", Esty is one who would rather run from an incoming avalanche and leave whomever needs help behind. Damsels, although he claims to want to save them; Etsy would rarely act upon what he says. Even if it's princess Ann, who he highly wants to be with.

This has to do not only with his lack of skill, but also his fears. The cub is practically afraid of any danger, much preferring the comfort of what he knows than what he doesn't. In an argument, he'll always side with whom he thinks to be the victor, and will commonly change his thought of mind to appease whomever he favours at the time. Even if he doesn't find their opinion appealing. The leopard throughout life will commonly follow his brother's lead and try to take his brothers fame and glory.

His greatest fright, however; will make him extremely fidgety around priests. Shan Furen. Obviously, Etsy may try to justify his actions in his mind, but he knows that he's done wrong. And is bound to make him avoid worship and the goddess all together. In fact, at the sight of her, he may faint.

Growing up, he'll try to be a prowler and a guard. But ultimately, he'll fail at these two jobs His pride will be hurt, but he'll still try to worm his way into the princess' heart. Claiming that it was someone else's issue, not his. Eventually, he'll come to realize that his ideal trade, would be a merchant. Someone that can sweet talk their way into sales. And, he'll try to rope a guard into protecting him, regardless if they loathe him or not.

A buzz of excitement ran through his bones, making his tiny claws come out to dig into the ground below, only to retract. The princess. He was going to have a playdate, with the princess. Princess Ann. He was enthralled. Couldn't wait.

But his enthusiasm was tinged with tension. His mother wouldn't be there. Neither would precious Saikhan, the lady who was graciously looking after them both. Who he had grown to rely and depend on. What if---Well, what if he messed up? What if he said the wrong thing? Would she see through him and into his fears? Etsy hoped not.

Thankfully, his brother would be there. He was sure to entertain the little lass if he failed. They could play games, he was content in just talking with the princess. To see what she was about. And play what she wanted to play. Perhaps, even going as far as to find a small trinket in the snow for the female. Favours would probably be won with gifts, not little games in the snow. That was trivial. She was going to be a princess not one of them.

"Be sharp, my dear brother. She's not like one of us." he pointed out smugly, rising up to stand.

There was nothing else to say. The time was here.

((He is a bit plotted with Lolli's, however; I excluded most of the plots in personality in case we don't both win. I don't mind altering any of his plots either uwu Hope you don't mind me including a bit of plot in his personality! ))

Name: Diederik
Meaning: "Ruler of the People" He is named after Derek from The Princess Swan movie.
Future Rank: Guard

Personality: Derik is a hotshot. He has a natural talent for battle and would to spend all day cub wrestling if he could, especially since he usually wins. His ego is far bigger than his tiny body, and all the extra attention from Saikhan isn't helping. He can be reckless and impulsive when the opportunity for adventure comes along, and his bravery errs more on the side of stubborn foolishness. Derik hates to lose and doesn't believe in quitting, even when the odds are stacked against him.
He has a secret and crippling fear of being a failure, which pushes him to be the best at whatever he's doing. Those who refuse to give him their approval earn Derik's hatred, and also his attention. He will not stop until he's changed their minds, terrified that there might be those who don't think he's worthy of anything.
Though he has little time for weaklings and wannabe's, Derik does understand the importance of working as a team. Tasks that are impossible for him to complete alone might be possible with the help of others of his same caliber, so long as Derik is the one leading the charge. He doesn't take orders too well, and will disobey them if he comes up with a better idea. He likes to think up crazy plans on the fly, and being forced to blindly go along with someone else's plan makes him incredibly grumpy and snappish.

Derik grinned. Well of course he was getting to go play with the future ruler. It was about time too. None of the other cubs had been able to keep up with Derik, and having the same play-battles over and over again was becoming dull. Derik wanted a real challenge, a real adventure! He bet all of the royal cubs were being trained by the Captain himself! Maybe they could introduce him to the Captain! Why, Derik was sure the Captain would be so impressed with his skills that Derik would be made the youngest guard ever in the history of the pride!
Or, even better, Derik guessed that the royal cubs got to do all kinds of crazy things that other cubs weren't. Maybe they could go all the way up to the top of the mountain to find Shan Furen herself! And then everyone would be impressed.
The young cub bounced a little bit, hardly able to contain his excitement. This was going to be the best playdate ever! He and the Crown Prince, as thick as thieves....
Wait, Crown Princess?
Derik groaned, flopping himself to the floor. The future ruler was a girl. Now what were they going to do on their playdate? Was it even legal to have boys and girls playing together? Derik could get cooties, and then his entire life would be over forever.
This was a tragedy. There'd be no way he'd be allowed to wrestle with a princess. What was Derik supposed to do with her instead? Talk? Yuck! Talking was boring. And the only good stories that Derik liked had lots of violence and great big battles. Derik always imagined himself as one of the great commanders, leading battalions of leopards and cheetahs against huge monsters! What did the princess like? Flowers? Oh the horror!
Derik rolled over onto his stomach, pawing away the large mouth that had tried to pick him up by his scruff. It was time to go. "Nooooo, I don't want cooties!" He moaned dramatically, dead weight against being lifted up into the air.
Well, at least they'd be royal cooties, so Derik would have the coolest death out of all the cubs that had ever died of cooties. That was something to look forward to.

These two boys were colored by Meepfur. They have two sisters, one owned by Mia Sharra and another owned by Neon Fly. I will be posting them for certing.
Since these two have potential to be very important, I really do want Ann to RP with both of them at some point. If they don't work out, that's fine. c:
