IN THIS EPISODE: Someone finds Nightvine once again dead asleep in an open, unprotected place and takes him in for the day until he's awake when the sun sets. He finds himself in a strange place yet again, but can't figure out how he wound up there.
Bell finds Nightvine out cold on a bench and the weather is turning into a cold sleet. She scoops him up and takes him to her brand new efficiency apartment. He might awaken to some of her slightly haunting flute music.
Nightvine, yet again, is out on a winter night and not keeping track of the time as he should have. This time, he's as least got a sweater and his backpack full of supplies! But his inevitable inner clock soon says it's time for sleeping and the slightest trickle of sunlight sets his eyelids lower and lower...
He's soon lost consciousness and fast asleep who knows where.

Belldandy's umbrella lifted and opened with a soft pop as she exited the music hall. As he magic held the umbrella aloft, other phonies exchanged rushed goodbyes, using unfurling their umbrellas or using large instrument cases or sheet music to shield them from the cold rain that had started to fall. Rehearsals had been ended early as weather reports were warning that sleeting raid and large hail was on its way, possibly a ice storm. For the moment only cold rain pelted Bell's clear umbrella, decorated with black music notes. Securing her flute case to her saddle bag and winding her long scarf around her neck, she set out to get home quickly before the weather got worse.
Passing through the park at a quick trot, many other phony dashed by. Parents ushering foals home, younger phony splashing through cold puddles as they raced to warm kitchens, and a familiar blue and green lump snoozing on a park bench. Bell paused and walked over to the curled up colt. Yes that was Nightvine and even in his sweater he was starting to get wet and look cold. The mare considered propping her umbrella up next to him to protect him from the rain but that wouldn't help him with the cold. She could take him home, but she didn't know where he lived! She could put him somewhere safer, but with the bad weather rolling in, no where but a place indoors would be safe!
As if to spurr a decision onto the indecisive mare, the soft pattering of rain was turning into the harder tapping of ice. Indoors it was then. She gathered up the colt and and his backpack on her back and headed back to her own home.
It had only been a previous night since Babby Umbra had given him the advice to start packing more identifying equipment. Nightvine's father had a GPS tracker ordered, but those things took about a week or so to arrive in the post from the Phonyland Phactory.
So all he had equipped was his name on the inside of his pack scrawled in washed out marker. It was supposed to say "NIGHTVINE", but night rains and infrequent washings made it read more like "NIOFNINF" only less defined.
He may as well have been a corpse, because the rain and the sound of other people on top of being scooped up and whisked away was not enough to stir him. Not even raging thunder gods could have waked him, it was the sleep of the dead. That was his mother's oddly programmed nanotech at work.
(( Bell is so pretty, omg! I remember Maxx streaming that one. <333 ))

((Thank you, I think she turned out super well! heart))
It was much for difficult to balance a foal on her back then Bell would have thought. As she tried to hurry back to her apartment, Nightvine slid and bounced, almost falling off several times. It took a few tries, but she managed to find a fast trot she could do to that kept the colt on. Reaching her apartment complex, she took the elevator up to her floor. The mare lived on the very top floor in a efficiency apartment at the farest end of the hall. She wanted to bother the fewest people when she played.
Belldandy opened the door to her home, flicking on the light and levitating her umbrella into the stand. Despite her best efforts, she managed to get the both fairly damp while juggling the foal, all their bags, and the umbrella. Standing at her threshold, she flicked her mane a little, shaking some water off. At the sudden jostle, Nightvine slid off her back and fell with a light thud onto the floor.
It was a wonder that no phony came running down the hall at the sudden, blood curdling wail that echoed down it. Her neighbors were getting used to Bell's sudden mini meltdowns, though they much prefered her flute music.
"I'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRY!!!" the unicorn wailed, picking the colt's sleeping form off the floor. "What have I done?! What if he's hurt? What if I broke something? Ohh Ohh!! Are you ok? Please tell me you're ok!"
Nightvine gave a yawn, not finding the strength even open his eyes. He didn't notice the rather bumpy ride all along the trip. He'd later have no memory of any of this come sundown.
"No, Dad, it's not a cheesecake," Nightvine muttered. "I like my mittens crispy on the outside."
He started to snore, his legs up in the air and his hair in his face.
(( Just call him Dead Cousin Ted. ))

Bell heaved a huge sigh of relief. Gathering herself back up again, she decides the first thing she needs to do is to get that wet sweater off Nightvine before he catches cold. She sits him up a bit awkwardly and his body wobbles as she tries to carefully peel the soaking piece of clothing off his body. After a few moments of struggle, the colt's head pops out of the sweater, and then his body topples backwards with a thump. The mare's blue eyes begin to sparkle with tears. "AHHHHH! I'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRYI'MSORRY.."
"..sorryy..sorry.." she murmured, sniffling, and using a part of a fluffy pink towel to dry off Nightvine's mane. After picking the still sleeping colt off the floor again, Belldandy used a large, warm towel to wrap the foal up so she could dry him off and to help bolster him up. "There.." she declared after awhile of rubbing. He was a bit fluffy and his mane and tail were greatly mussed but he was dry. The mare then scooped the baby unicorn up and carried him to her bed, tucking him into the nest of quilts and pillows to make sure he stayed warm and was comfortable.
*Kerchoo!* Bell sneezed as she walked over to her music stand, using the towel to dry her own hair.
Nightvine didn't need an alarm or the sun to realize it was late in the evening. One eye opened very slowly, like a flower opening its first petal.
"Hnnnnuuuh..?" he sat up, foggy headed and inflicted with the worst case of bed hair he'd ever had before. He struggled to keep his head upright. "Wh-what...?"
He looked around, though his eyes weren't completely registering what or where he was. Nightvine sat there, staring out into nothing. He may as well have been asleep sitting up in Bell's bed. It sure was soft where he was. The temptation to hunker back down into the covers was tremendous.

The lights are down low, except for a small lamp turned on over a music stand. Belldandy is playing much quieter than usual in effort to not disturb her house guest. The tune is soft and rather melancholy, but also slightly wistful. The music is interrupted by a tiny sneeze, a sniffle, and then after a moment resumes as quietly as before.
It takes a moment for him to get his bearings. It took him a long time to even realize he was no longer outdoors. He looked around and blinked over and over letting the images hit his foggy brain before his ears even started to work.
Then the sounds started trickling in. What on earth was that? A radio? A funeral? Who the heck plays funeral music on a radio?
"H-hullo...?" he said softly, fumbling out of the bed to have a look about.
((I'm sorrr-ee~ Yesterday was rather odd and hectic. ))

The music comes to an abrupt end. Twisting around and spying the little colt sleepily emerging from the blankets and pillows.
"Well good evening Nightvine." Bell said, setting her flute down and turning the lights up just a bit. "You might not remember me but I'm Belldandy, I've seen you in the park a lot when I was smaller. I brought you home tonight because of..well..that..."
She drew back a window curtain. Outside, tree branches had icey shells and the wind caused everything to creek in a sound only cracking ice makes. No phony was in sight. "I didn't know where you lived, and I just couldn't leave you to become a phonycicle, so I brought you here. I hope your parents won't be angry with me."
Nightvine looked out the window in bewilderment. It was raining buckets and buckets outside. He wondered if he would have washed away hadn't Belldandy found him.
"I love on Cucumber Lane," Nightvine said. "But I don't think I wanna go out again without wool scuba gear!"
Nightvine propped himself up on the window sill and pressed his nose to the glass to get a closer look outside. He saw the rain sliding down newly formed icicles.
"This what they call freezing rain? I never seen it before!"

"Me either actually.." she said, watching the weather as well. "But it looks like something no phony should be out in unless it's urgent." Stepping back from the window she went over to her stove and turned it on. "Want something warm to drink? Tea? Coffee? Coco?" she rattled off tea names, pawing through her cabinet. "I can make you something to eat too."
Bell floated two cups down from the shelf while she filled the kettle. "I hope your parents won't be too worried. Shouldn't you call them?" she asked.
(( I'm a terrible person who's been gone too long. ))
"I'd like some coffee, but Dad says I'm already up enough during the night as it is," Nightvine laughed. "Dad knows I wander around at night, but I fell asleep again before I could get home. I'm not sure the phone's are workin' right now, anyway."
Nightvine looked around and realized something.
"Didja happen to see if I had my knapsack with me? It had my emergency phone."

"Napsack?" Bell though as she set the kettle on stove. Oh no! She must have not seen it when she grabbed up Nightvine! It was most likely still in the park! Oh how stupid of her not to look around before she just ran off with colt!
There was only one thing to do..
"Y, yes it's downstairs in the front corridor. I sat it down as I was hitting the elevator button! I must have forgotten to pick it up." The kettle began to sing. Bell sat the coffee on the table next to the cups and poured Nightvine's cup full of hot water, replacing the kettle on the stove. "Please, make your coffee how you like while I grab it. I'm sure the doorman must have put it to the side by now. Warm up and I'll be right back." She was out the door before he could protest, taking the stairs down.
"please let it still be there please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please.."
By the time Nightvine turned around, she was out of sight.
"...-Man? Where'd ya go?" Nightvine left his place from the window and wandered around the place, looking under furniture for Belldandy. "Wh-What's a doorman?"
He had heard a door, but wasn't sure which door. He roamed and spied the kettle and the cup. Nightvine approached the thing as if it were a wild, alien creature.
"I don't know -how- to make coffee," he explained to no one.
