Jaime is a very rambunctious and spirited individual, to put it nicely. Often spending most of his off-time at bars, surrounded by booze, cigarettes, and beautiful women, laughing and sexing it up, and lavishing in the fame of being a Gourmet Hunter. Foul-mouthed, womanizing, heavy drinking, chain smoking, and with an addictive personality, Jaime doesn't mince words. If he doesn't like you, he'll let you know. And he rarely likes anyone.
Jaime also has quite a temper. Though he's hardly a match for most other Gourmet Hunters, he's not afraid to throw down if it means having fun, putting on a show for the ladies, or defending his pride.
To put it in the worst way possible, most would say that Jaime has very few redeeming qualities. That's just not true, though. Not many know this, but Jaime has a soft spot for animals. Yes, he'd prefer eating or killing them most of the time. But when he's not doing either of those things, he really treats them very kindly, even more so than he does other people. He also has a rather unusual habit of giving any animals he meets a rather cutesy name. His own motortiger is a prime example.

Jaime wasn't always the total a** he is now. He was born in Hex Food World to a bakeneko mother and a monkey-like father, inheriting traits from both of them. His mother was a Gourmet Hunter, his father a chef, who together formed a Combo and fell in love. Though they were often away on their business, they still raised him well. Jaime decided that when he turned 16, he'd become a Gourmet Hunter as well.
The young lad, however, set his sights too high. The second he left Hex Food World, Jaime made a beeline straight for Gourmet World. It was while in one of the most dangerous areas of Gourmet World that Jaime fell afoul of several beast with over-100 Capture Levels. What happened? Jaime won't talk about it, and asking about it will likely get you a black eye. But whatever happened, Jaime lost an arm, an eye, and got most of his scars from it. He only survived because he was picked up by a small tribe of Gourmet Cell-mutated humans living in a well-protected and well-hidden part of Gourmet World nearby. They managed to nurse Jaime back to health, mostly by feeding him Gourmet Cell-laced food over the course of several years.
After spending so many years with this tribe, Jaime picked up their rather unusual accent and lingo they had developed due to their isolationism. When Jaime left their hidden village, he went straight for the Human World to start over from scratch, and from the bottom, rather than trying to take a shortcut to the top like years before. Jaime has been a Gourmet Hunter ever since. He'd prefer to be called "Hammerspace" after the ability he developed due to his years of Gourmet Cell ingestion, but most people instead call him "Jaime the Almost Omnivorous", due to his insistence of only eating, and hunting, animals or by-products of animals. For example, one of his favorite drinks, and the drink on his Full Course Menu, is Mellow Cola, which is an animal by-product of the Salamander Sphinx.
