Dream Catcher
[Nightmare Uncert] [Nightmare Uncert w/o Saddle] [Daydream Uncert] [Daydream Uncert w/o Saddle]
As you walk around you come across a peculiar tent, covered in stars and moons. Out front, a old native woman sits silent in her chair, caressing a wolf laying by her feet, eyes closed. You feel compelled to go over and see if she’s alright, for she looks so old you’re afraid she may be dead. It was presumptive of course, but one couldn’t be too careful these days.
As you approach the wolf’s eyes flash open and briefly glow gold. You pause momentarily warily, worried the wolf may attack you if you got too close to it’s master.
”It’s okay child. He will not hurt you.” the old woman speaks, her own eyes opening to look at you contemplatively.
You ask her if she’s alright and she gives a dry laugh, ”Oh yes, the spirits watch over me. I was merely meditating. Would you like to join me?
When you hesitate she laughs again, beckoning you over to sit next to her and her wolf. And when you do her smile widens.
”It’s been awhile since I’ve had company. The boss doesn’t allow many visitors to my tent.”
You quickly think that maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. So you ask why the boss doesn’t allow her to have people visit. She looks almost forlorn as she reminisces of a time long past. She gets up and begins to putter around, going into her tent and bringing out some incense. The smoke floating too close for comfort. As it fills your nostrils you become more and more alarmed.
Your movements sluggish.
”Hush child, the spirits shall visit you very soon. Relax. Allow the smoke to lull you to sleep.”
And despite your instincts screaming at you to run, the power of the smoke along with the old indian woman’s chanting in your ear forces you into an uneasy slumber.
