Hollandaise had found the bare walls of her room stifling and had slipped outside. This was nothing new for the warder - the inorganic stone and lack of plants often drove her out, towards the forest. She felt an odd kind of guilt in the forest, even though it was not hers, as though she deserved no forest at all. Her toes dug into the autumn-cooled soil and she shivered. Even the afternoon sun was cool; the weak beams of light to lazy to provide more than a passing warmth. She made a note to visit Junko for clothing knowledge - she would need something heavier for the winter.

With a bemused hum, she slipped her phone into a pocket. Critter helped her sometimes, she thought. Although Zar was forever annoying. The thought of Zar and his mutable bits had her shaking her head with enough force that her hair flew out all around her in a dark wave. Abruptly, she turned and headed back towards the dorms. Now was the perfect time to remind Mellow of what a clingy boil he'd been!

With a bounce in her wooden toes, she neared her dorm again, this time electing to enter in through the front door. A familiar green head exited the dorms and began walking along the path. With a start, Hollandaise slid off of that same path, to wait in the shadow of an old and gnarled tree. A smile curved her lips - this much be very like what it was to wait for a human to come close enough to scare. As he passed, she would reach out one hand to lightly rest on his shoulder.

"Hello Mellow," she said, a laugh barely disguised in her voice. "Remember me?"

Ignoring Holly, Mellow went for a run with Chaya, they said to meet at the woods outside the dorm. He was full of energy and expectations for a forest run with maybe -a new boil friend, the pony walked with some skips like a happy pony. He can't wait to feel the autumn breezes and race like a horse, like a ready-to-dash horse, his feet dig the ground covered in yellow crispy leaves gently. Mellow's ears twitched lively, enjoying the rattles of the leaves, they were pleasant for him.

He squealed at the same time he jumped, sprang a few steps far from where he was. The tail perked up straight like holly's branches slowly softened and slumped, but his heart was throbbing. "Jack! It's you!" He rarely yelled.

Of all responses, Hollandaise had not expected that. When Mellow jumped, so did she, inhaling in a breath that sounded like the rattling of bare branches. Pressing a hand to her chest, she exhaled slowly. She spent several moments in shocked silence before moving, circling around to another side of Mellow.

"Uh, yes. It is I. Are you expecting other creeple to reside under trees to talk to you? I came to say hello. And tell you of how you used me as your pillow." She folded her arms under her chest and shot him a look.

Holly should expect that, all the clues at prom and Critter all told her that Mellow was a scaredy cat pony, traumatized by all the ghouls. It was her fault, not his, responsible for the startle.

She shouldn't look at him like that, he didn't do anything wrong!

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Internally he flipped many tables already, yet, his fear of ghouls didn't show him that side. ".....I didn't." The "......" was a silent reply for her first question. Yes, some ghouls he knew would assault him when they saw him, he was always on caution. The hand barely raised up to reply the greeting.

As for the second, he still couldn't remember what happened, though he woke up with a light headache the next morning. In his belief, he strongly didn't think he would use a ghoul, a GHOUL as his pillow (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻

This ghoul! This ghoul! That was a serious accusation to a mighty pony!!!

The pony boil returned the judge with big-rolling stare.

"Really?" The corners of her mouth twitched. Mellow looked more than a little silly trying to be stand-offish. If he were another boil, she would reach out and poke him. But Mellow might bolt then, leaving her in the dust. She snorted inelegantly.

"But you clung to me so hard, Mellow. You could not let go." Her voice was teasing and contained barely concealed laughter. Hallondaise's hands squeezed and her shoulders wiggled, as if she were hugging herself. "Check your Critter. You even wrote about it!"

What does this ghoul want? ( ̄へ ̄; )

The muscles between his rather big eyes knitted together, relaxed, knitted together and relaxed again, the boil seemed to be thinking a lot of things in his mind.

He couldn't believe what she said, assisted by some exaggerated acting that he felt being mocked. There was zero possibility that he will actively approach a female creature, considering how terrible they are under their pretty skin. Even if they lured him with his favourite thing, he would hesitate, observe for a long time before he sacked and fled in the speed of the light.

Cling? Won't let go? Hehe~ She didn't even think before she said that <( ̄︶ ̄)>

The confident boil snorted in his heart, and picked out his phone to fiddle with.

He slowly scrolled down his creets calmly with occasional eye blinks. His face was emotionless, and then a quick frown, pulling the scene closer at one of his posts. He didn't look at Holly but opened his eyes widely and squinted, as if it was just an illusion. After a few minute, he put it back into his pocket, blankly said: "....That's not me....maybe hacked....I don't write like that." when he confirmed it was really there.

Mellow spat words after words, it was hard for him to talk that much but he felt the necessity to clarify the matter.

Hollandaise watched his face twist and untwist and twist again. It was really kind of comical, but she refrained from laughing. For some reason, this seemed very hard for the little pony to take in. The Warder didn't quite understand his fear of ghouls, but it was clear that the fear was serious. And in that moment, Hollandaise decided that someday, she would try to cure Mellow. Maybe not today, she amended, hearing the way he spat out word after word. Hollandaise breathed deeply,

"Not hacked," she said calmly. "-maybe drunk. Or some other state of inebriation. You were overly friendly, Mellow, but you did write that. And you did cling to me." She rocked back on her heels for a moment, a calm smile quspreading across her face. A part of her wanted to reach out and take him by the shoulders and over-explain until he got it, but she had promised. Hollandaise would try to avoid touching him and try to avoid teasing him... too much.

"I don't think you can really deny it. Do you think you should try hugging me to see if you'll remember?" Hollandaise made a concentrated effort to look as non-threatening as possible. She thought she did quite a good job of it, as warders spent quite a lot of time blending in with trees.

Sorry, Holly, Mellow was so serious about it, not for a comedy.

When you would worry about if your drink was added something, if you didn't pay attention in classes but sensed the predator gazes all on you and scared to think of what would happen when the bell ring, or simply trained to be the fastest runner in the town because you don't want to be caught by any of the hands chasing after you, then you can say you learn his fear.

The boil wasn't arrogant, it was just a matter of fact. Because of his rather adorable face, he was so loved. It was too much that it became a burden, a dread, a nightmare.

"...D-Drunk..." It was a question through mumble to her and also himself, he never drink because something bad happened before, without his acknowledgement. Honestly, he did not remember what happened between the time after they went to game booths and when he woke up the next day with a sore headache.

Mellow looked at the Warder, her tone was friendly but what she said was too difficult to believe. Together with the conviction that ghouls all have conspiracies, he didn't trust her. The pony boil had his eyes looked down left and right as he contemplated, just not looking towards Holly.

Somehow, the breathe of forest from her was pleasant, only if he could ignore the fear in his heart. However, hugging a ghoul actively? He grudgingly could allow Trisha to touch him, but not the other way, not to mention a ghoul he didn't know very well. "......I will die." It was a short rejection.

After all, despite of his docile cute appearance, Mellow was obstinate.

Hollandaise barely swallowed an indignant snort. He would die? What sort of theatrics was this? "You obviously will not die," she reasoned. "-since you've done it before." Hollandaise's toes wriggled into the dirt. She didn't know why, but she found herself curious if this boil would ever touch a ghoul. It made her want to push, to get up in his space.... but she, too, typically didn't like creeple touching her. Her leaves hurt when pulled off, her branches snapped. The warder shivered and tucked her hands at her sides.

"I do not think you can go without touching a ghoul forever, Mellow. It's not so bad. What about little touches at first - have you ever tried that?" This pony was certainly a strange pony. Hollandaise couldn't deny that she'd felt hurt when Mellow had rejected her out of hand on Critter, just after learning she was a ghoul. Maybe this is how Aisha felt: a little angry, a little hurt. Aisha had probbaly felt worse. She resolved to be a better friend.

"Try a little touch? What if.. I do not touch you at all, but you touch me. You'd be in control? Do you think that would work?" She held out her arm.

She still insisted that he touched her, what a horrible accusation. ".....I can...." The ghoul was convincing - not tempting him to try, it was obviously a trap, like just carelessly covered a deep hole with sparse dry hay. Yet, it was somehow alluring. The breathe of woods from her alike that of the forest they were at, but also have a stronger pull like the sweetness of the sugar cubes.

Who says equines eat grasses and hay only, please, they're more prestigious creature.

Return to the topic, the boil was kind enough to answer holly's questions. "....Nope, usually the ghouls do." It was short, but enough to inform the Warder that he would never initiate the touch thing, it was not necessary.

He stared at the tan-color soft seem-to-be soft and firm reached out, a desire to reach out abruptly rose and subsided momentarily.

So close.

Even it was just a thought, it frightened him that he -

- hit his head against the trunk nearby to wake himself up.

"Mellow!" Her voice was startled and high as he slammed his head into the tree. Her arms reached out to stop him, but she dropped them. A touch would only spur him to fight and possibly hurt himself more. Instead, she moved to touch the tree. "Please do not do things to hurt yourself, Mellow," she said, and then her eyes flared, casting a golden glow on the tree trunk.

A sort of sleepy confusion washed over her, a sense without words that the pony's headbutt had befuddled the tree. But it passed, although the oak's feelings still had a hint of irritation. Luckily, the little pony did not have enough strength to truly hurt the tree in one movement. Her thin fingers stroked the wood in small patterns as she sent it thoughts of stubbornness, and laughter, and finally, reassurance. Gently, slowly, she traced out words on its bark, although the tree would not understand them. Hollandaise had no issue with the use of plants as food when needed, or the inevitable abuse and death of grasses as they were trod upon... These things were normal, everyday. But the wanton disregard for plants made her angry. She felt as though she must become angry on their behalf, as plant's sleep-slow emotions faded and accepted even the most unfair of things.

Her hand dropped back to her side, the glow of her eyes faded, and Hollandaise whirled to face Mellow. "What were you thinking?" Her voice was deceptively calm, although a hiss of anger rode the edge. The warder was proud of that - that she did not yell, or even raise her voice. "You startled the poor oak - it is not here for you to take out your frustrations on. Just because you do not wish to face the truth does not give you leave to-" She took a deep breath.

"Mellow," she breathed out, his name a soft entreaty. He was just so stubborn. But even if this did not work, Hollandaise knew she could wear him down, eventually. If there was one word to describe herself, it was 'stubborn'. But who could out-stubborn the other? "I would rather you hurt me than that unsuspecting oak."

Mellow didn't understand plants, he was more affiliated with water life. He was watching all the way when she did the weird thing with the tree, he saw her eyes glowing in an eerie way.

....Another witch? ....... ....... ... Another witCH?! =口=lll

Believing she was also a hybrid as Anna ghoul, he made and secured his retreating route. The sign of anger in Holly's words startled him and he quavered, soon he braced up, it was as slight as a tiny static shock. What? Now she blames him for scaring the tree? The sulky face didn't go away but intensified. Excuse me, you're the one who blocked my way and startle me at first.

He never have good affinity with reapers, especially the witches. They were artful, evil....annoying, weird....witchy...and evil. The artless pony grew up in rural towns didn't know about mages, sorcerers and other types, female reapers were all called "witches" and his poor vocabularies frankly sold him out.

".....It's your fault." He said plainly, then turned to stroke the tree bark and apologize with a mumble. "....Nope." he won't, the boil looked into the Warder's eyes for the first time but quickly drifted away to carelessly rub his redden forehead. He wasn't easily convinced.

Fine. Next time he will just pinch his own cheek though he preferred headbutt a tree over that.

"None of this is my fault, Mellow. You began it all." She sighed and looked at the pony. He really did have an unnatural fear. One she was unsure how to cure. Stubborness and tenacity were tenements she lived by, but Hollandaise was rapidly discovering she disliked them in other creeple. Her lips thinned as she noticed him rubbing his forehead.

"That's going to bruise. I cant get your some witch hazel to put on it? It will help you heal more quickly." There was a little witch hazel bush just nearby. A peeled off piece of bark would remedy Mellow's head.

The eyes rolled bigger in disbelief, flabbergasted. What? (゜◇゜) She was the one who clogged him in mid-way and insisted on something he didn't have memories that he had done, why it's his fault now? "...You blocked me." His eyes drifted downwards to observe the furthest left and right corners his eyes could look at limit.

The mention of the wound at his reddened forehead gave an alarm. In prompt reaction, he patted both of his hands over it and the ears perked up straight like two green sticks, his tail brushed behind him in an unintelligible way.

He could confirm she was partially a forest witch, she even mentioned of the witch hazel. From his rich knowledge on witch classification, holly was now a partial forest witch with plant specialism.

It might be a bit weird, but scarelings in town hated a place and hardly visited it - library. Ceffyl dwr is a species that love running, moving around lively non-stop, so library is a not a popular spot for the little ponies. Thus, Mellow found it a safe place to hide. During his childhood, he unusually came into contact with books, and among all, the book written about witches. It might be the owner's special weird interests in the witches that many of them were about the evil ladies, how witchy they were and what they would do to others. Under this influence, the pony developed a concept that witch was scary and should be avoided.

The boil suspected that holly was gonna cast some spells on him ran onto a high level alert, he firmly covered his forehead while nailed his eyes onto the ghoul, ready to react to any of her actions anytime.

"There... is no way I could block you completely? We are outside, Mellow." Puzzlement colored her voice as she stared at the pony. He was frustrating to a fault and a large part of her wondered why she was even trying.

When his hands slapped over his forehead, she rubbed one hand over her face. Warders were patient beings, but Hollandaise was not as good a Warder as she should be. She breathed deeply once, twice. Mellow had denied ever clinging to her (said clinging had not been the most pleasant of experiences), and what had started as a little teasing had escalated in Hollandaise attempting to cure his aversion to ghouls. But she could not cure a boil who did not ever care to be cured. And she was tired of trying. Now, even, he clearly did not want her help in soothing his wounds.

"You know what? Fine. Be stubborn." Hollandaise kept her voice silky, the tones soft although there was an underlying thread of anger. "You do not want help - so be it. You will never believe me, even though it is the truth. I am done. Mellow, you are an awful, avoidant little pony and if you never touch a ghoul again it might save our gender all the trouble." Her hands had twisted in the hem of her dress as she spoke, and now she deliberately smoothed out the wrinkles they left. Shooting Mellow a glare, she abruptly stalked over to the tree and leaned indolently against it. Clearly, she would ignore the pony' presence until he left.
