Rock Sugar was having a pretty horrible day so far. He had woken up late, he never wakes up late! His hair was not being nice either. Not that he cared much about his hair looking nice but he didn't want it to look bad. No matter what he did it kept going every where today, it was seriously odd.

He decided going by the park, one of his favorite places besides the library, was a good idea. The foal was going to write in his journal but had forgotten a pen. No writing utensil made it hard to write. He stuck the journal back in his bag, and got up. Rock trotted over to the path and all of a sudden, right in the middle of the path, his bag strap broke and some of his stuff from inside his bag fell out.

Rock was so twisted up in the bag and his hair and this miserable day that he didn't see someone was coming down the path. It should have been obvious by the fact the skateboard made noise as it rolled along but he just wasn't paying any attention. He heard the skateboard clatter off into the grass and the thud from the other phony landing on the ground.

Bag contents everywhere, the foal looked up the at mare, he probably looked like a mess. "I, uh, I'm sorry. My strap broke and I couldn't get it in time."

Not good enough? What was wrong with his excuse as it was totally true! This wasn't a terribly nice mare... "Sorry but..." Rock was then interrupted as she pointed out the pencil in his horn? He wouldn't do anything like that on purpose either.

At this point he was feeling a bit upset and hurt at being yelled at for something that wasn't his fault. He sniffled a bit, forgetting about the pencil lodged in his horn. "It isn't stuff on my butt, it is part of me." Rock was still pretty upset sounding as he sat there still on the ground all tangled up.

The foal took in a deep breath to help calm himself. That helped a little but once this foal got upset, it took a while for him to chill out. The mare cursing and apologizing made him smile just a little. At least she wasn't that upset sounding anymore.

Rock grinned a little more when she started to help me. At least she didn't yell and storm off on him, that would have made things worse in his opinion, for him at least. "Is it? My siblings and me all got these weird mutation things for some reason..." Another breath, no crying, nope. The foal stood up and helped gather up his items, hair all in a mess still. "I'm ok, just a little... startled"

The relief seemed to be contagious and the foal giggled a bit. "Laughing feels better." Much better than almost crying but he wasn't going to say that much out loud.

"Is it? It makes certain things weird but it is pretty different." Rolling over was awkward but that was about it. Whoops, he totally forgot about the pencil stuck in his horn too! "Oh thanks!" Rock laughed a bit at the thought of walking around all day with a pencil all in his hair and horn.

Rock looked over his bag and nodded that everything was back inside. Now everything wasn't in it's place but it was good enough and he could organize it better later. The foal straightened his hair as best he could.

"Really? Different usually gets me laughed at though..."

A few emotions crossed the foals face, first a grin at the thought that he was awesome. If this cool mare said he was, he really felt it. A small gasp escaped his mouth at the almost bad word she said and the fact that he should hit those mean others. He settled back on a grin though.

"I think that laughing with them is the best idea! Laughing feels a lot better. Though I'll let you know if I ever need help." Sure was a nice mare.
