Well, that did it, Prime Meridian thought. If he had to spend another second searching for his favorite fake-gem encrusted brush set in one of his sisters' rooms, he would just as soon buy another batch. He pushed into the toy store with a head full of thoughts of how he meant to buy himself not just another brush set, but a mini-telescope to soothe his own grumpiness. He parked himself in front of the toys, his normally cheery mouth pointed downwards, and looked around. Full of self-pity, he heaved a sigh. There were so many! He had to choose something...

Tinker was penciling the last detail of a toy when he finally looked up, currently he could see no one, which meant that there was foal somewhere, or one of the ghost phonies was playing a prank. The later seemed unlikely, he thought as he climbed over his counter and jumped down onto a bouncy carpet, since most of the ghost phonies he had met seemed to lack that prankster kind of humor and went with a more dark and serious stuff. Shaking his head, he trotted around, dodging puzzle pieces and blocks until he spotted his client. " Well, that's hardly the face to have while shopping for a toy!"

Meridian jumped as he suddenly heard the sound of hoofbeats behind him, and turned quickly, nearly tripping over his mane as he did so. "Oh my gosh! he gasped, taking a step backward. He quickly calmed himself. It was just the shop owner! He'd just been too deep in his thoughts. "Oh -- uh -- you're probably right," said Meridian. He huffed, tossing his mane. "Sorry. I'm Prime Meridian. I'm just trying to find a toy -- a toy that would be really super neat and awesome for me, but that my siblings won't totally steal the second I take it out of the wrapping! Is that possible?" He looked up at Tinker Toy, hopeful, totally unaware of how selfish his words were sounding.

Tinker stared at the colt for a moment too long. "Well, um...Hmmm.....That's a very interesting request. Unfortunely such thing doesn't really exist." He stepped over the colt with ease. " But, if I may ask, why are you searching for such specifically dragonitic toy?"

Meridian huffed, sending his bangs upward with the force of his breath. He knew such a toy wouldn't exist, if he was honest with himself. But... he just WANTED it to. "Well... my sisters are always stealing my brush set and none of my toys are safe at home and everyone's always taking them for their own and I just want ONE TOY that nobody else can touch. I mean, don't they have they OWN toys? Why do they keep taking MINE?"

This was not the usual type of selfish Tinker was used to working with. He took a seat to look at the many toys sitting in the shelves before them. " Thing about siblings is that it won't matter what kind of toy you get. I am sure you taken quiet a few of their own toys, because really ,when you got siblings, your toys aren't yours, they are a communal type of thing. Their toys are yours and yours are theirs. Sometimes you didn't really want to play with one of their toys, you just want your brother or your sister to pay attention to you, so you just take it." " Sometimes you want to show them that you share the same interest. Sometimes you really just want to play with that particular toy. The thing is, siblings are funny that way."He tilted his head and smiled down at the colt. " If your brushes are always going missing, then ask your parents to make an art corner, and that the supplies can't be moved from there. Then all the brushes will stay put." " Now keeping a toy to yourself is near impossible, I am afraid, although there is something you can do..."

For a long moment, Meridian looked upset. He looked like he wanted to argue with what Tinker was saying. But as the stallion continued talking, Meridian's expression slowly changed. First to resignation. Then to a sort of acceptance. There wasn't much he could do, and Tinker did have a point. He HAD taken some other toys in the past. He had to admit that. Maybe the blame was more on his selfishness than on his siblings. "That's true…" the colt allowed, half-embarrassed and looking at the ground. As Tinker offered a solution, he looked up. "Yeah? What can I do?"

"Follow me." Tinker nodded slowly as he saw the relasation coming to the colt's mind. He smiled gently and got up, walking over to the counter where the register was. A doll action figure sat by the counter, dressed up in pumpkin halloween custom. " I would like you to meet John. He is my favorite toy ever since I was a colt. I made him myself and he was and still is very special to me, so you can imagine what happen when I told my sisters they couldn't play with him. They would steal him, or ask for him while i was distracted and all manners of troubles came around trying to get him back. Eventually I had to sit down at tea with them and make it quiet clear why John was special, and why he certainly didn't need his hair to be turned purple." He handed the doll to Meridian. " I know siblings can be quiet....horrondous...at times, but at the same time, my sisters understood where I was coming from. It didn't keep John safe from their hooves all the time, but it made a difference on how they treated him, and the toys i said were special to me. They were more careful and mindful of what they did with them. Do you understand what I am saying?"

Meridian took the doll gently in his hooves -- certainly more gently than he would have if he hadn't been listening to Tinker's story about it. That gesture alone made Meridian realize: telling people things were important to someone did change how they felt about it. He smiled up at Tinker and then softly reached up and arranged John back on his place at the register. "It's a very nice toy," said the colt, a little shyly. "And... you're right. My siblings are ... I mean... if I'm honest, they're really, really nice. And they don't do anything too bad with my brushes, so I'm sure if I just told 'em........." He shuffled the floor, looking down. He felt very silly. Quietly, he murmured. "M... maybe I could also buy a few more... so there's enough for all of us, too." He looked up at Tinker with reverence. "Do -- do you think that's a good idea?"

" I think that's wonderful and perfectly good idea." Tinker smiled and rose to his hooves. " Let me show you a few brushes I found to be quiet hardy against glittery paints and being left unclean for a million years! And for such an generous kind colt, I think I can arrange a bit of a discount.."

Prime Meridian beamed, his ears lifting. He followed the stallion with a new spring in his step, glad to have finally figured out a good solution to his conundrum. Tristam Lockhart Sure! <3 Thank you so much!
