He had fallen onto jagged rocks, barely made it over a rickety old bridge that could barely hold his ridiculous weight, got lost in a forest, fought some kind of creature he'd never seen before, and stumbled around for an entire twelve hours bleeding and wounded and out of his mind with worry for the other students. That wasn't even beginning to touch on the massive sense of guilt he felt for causing his best friend's death.

He couldn't, wouldn't, allow others to die. So when he got back and found the Bogeymen to tell them what happened, and they laughed at him, brushing him off as a stupid kid?

He kind of went <******** beserk. Something inside of the Leshy had snapped (it was about time, given what he'd just crawled out of) and suddenly there was a loud boom of angry Slovak pouring out of his mouth and filling the building as he attempted to bludgeon the nearest officer with his fists (because he'd dropped that sledge hammer off of the bridge - but man, he'd like it right now).

Oops.

Apparently too many button presses activated beast mode.

It had taken Mathias some time...okay, make that a lot of time...to make his way off of that island (assuming it was indeed an island), and back to Halloween Town. He was battered and bloodied, though most of his wounds had been patched up by band-aids and bandages, and he limped along at an unsteady gate, his ears drooping and his clothing torn, stained, and his appearance overall quite disheveled. He was exhausted, sore, and emotionally strained (though he chose not to show it, as best as he could).

But he had made it, that's what was important, and if there was anytime left at all to get to the bogey's and let them know what had happened and where the others were, he had to make sure he at least tried.

In his condition, it took longer then expected to reach the office, and when he pushed through those doors, his ears immediately perked and swiveled to the direction of what seemed to be quite a commotion, one familiar voice cutting through the rest (though the words themselves were lost on Mathias).

"Aurel?" He didn't mean to sound so surprised as he pushed himself the rest of the way in, following the sounds of the other boils shouting. "Vut is happening?" Red eyes wide, as he reached up to grab at the demons arm with dark clawed hands, attempting to pull him back, while gaze flickered between the boil and the bogeymen in front of him.

Lucky for the bogeyman that Aurel had attempted to assault, he was a little off his center and missed him - not able to keep up with the man stepping away from the Leshy.

Lucky, as well, that Mathias' voice hit him like his misplaced sledgehammer and he stilled for a minute (though whether it was from being touched or from the fact he didn't want to hurt his new friend was entirely up in the air) and vainly struggled, "They don't believe me! They won't go!" His words came out barely understandable, still heavily accented but at least they weren't in angry Slovak anymore.

"This boil," The Bogey said, indicating to Aurel with a less than pleasant look on his face, "Claims that he and a group of his classmates were kidnapped by the escaped criminal and held hostage and tortured. If you could just take your little friend here so we can keep trying to find him with real leads, it would be much appreciated. Before we arrest him for attempting to assault an officer."

"BUT I AM TELLING THE TRUTH! Mathias, tell them!" He turned to look at the jackalope with wide, desperate eyes. He could tell them. They couldn't possibly discount two students. Especially when they both looked like hell...right?

Mathias was tired, bone weary, his brain feeling like mush after the hours upon hours spent attempting to find a way back to Halloweentown. It took him a long moment to process just what was going on, what the bogeyman was saying, what Aurel was saying, his wide eyes blinking once, twice, before black claws slid away from the other boil's arm.

"But vas kidnapped." Mathias frowned, something lurching in the pit of his stomach. He felt nauseated, quite suddenly, and dizzy, and all he wanted to do was find a place to sit. "Vere both kidnapped. Vas just finding vay here." He closed his eyes, swaying on his feet, before taking a deep breath and holding it, willing the wave of queasiness to subside. Letting out the breath slowly through his nose, he opened his eyes again, but this time it was to direct a pointed glare at the bogeyman that was accusing them of wasting his time.

"It is true, all of it. Am Mathias, a volpertinger that is attending Amityville Academy. Me and many classmates vere being kidnapped, and held, in a building on island. He vas letting some leave, but took many hours to find vay here."
Or so he assumed. Frankly, it could have been days and he wouldn't have known at this point.

"The others are needing help!" He was getting louder now, teeth bared along with his long, protruding fangs, as his hands closed into fists at his sides. "Ve are telling truth!"

Aurel was doing a bang up job on keeping himself from once again trying to throttle the bogeyman who was being so dismissive - even with another victim there. Mostly because he was worried about Mathias barely standing on his own to feet and could direct his energy elsewhere.

"Look, Kid---"

"What's going on out here?" A second Bogeyman came striding through one of the back doors. The look of annoyed confusion was plain on his face and the look he gave was to the man who had been talking to them - not to the boys.

"Sir, these kids were just saying that they were kidnapped by---"

"Parker Freeman." The second officer finished, dismissing the first with a wave of his hand. He turned to look at Aurel and Mathias, who were obviously distressed, and frowned. "That will be all. You may go. I need to speak with these boils."

The first Bogeyman stared at the three incredulously for a minute before turning on his heel and leaving the issue to his (obviously) superior.

"You both look like jacking hell." He said seriously. "Please, sit. Tell me what happened."

Aurel looked at the second officer suspiciously before slowly lowering himself down to a nearby seat. He tugged lightly on Mathias's shoulder to bring him down with him. "There is no time to waste telling you again." He grabbed his makeshift satchel with the map still in it and thrust it over to him. "Go find, please."

The bogeyman took the satchel and looked toward Mathias. "What happened?" Maybe he could get more out of the German boil.

If not for the second bogeyman showing up, Aurel might have had some help in throttling the one hat was treating them so dismissively. How could he not believe them? Were the students who had gone missing not worth worrying about? He found that hard to believe, and thus thought that the one that they were dealing with was just plain ignorant, a trait that the wolpertinger found to be quite the opposite of satisfactory.

As it was, red eyes flickered towards the newcomer, and he visibly relaxed. It became clear quite quickly that this one, at least, would believe them, and when Aurel sat down, urging him to do so as well, he quickly followed, plunking himself down in the seat next to the other boil.

"Vould be looking like hell too, if voken up in hospital bed covered in cuts." Mathias muttered, crossing his arms over his chest. Now that he was sitting, it was like all of the adrenaline from earlier had seeped away, and he found himself slouching in the chair, suddenly exhausted once more.

What happened? Was Mathias really the best one to answer that question? Though while Aurel had already given his account to one bogeyman, Mathias had not, and could do so now, if that's what was needed to get them moving in the right direction.

"Am not remembering much. Am not even knowing how long vere gone. Voke up in bed like hospital. Vas covered in cuts that had not healed all vay. Vas big explosion, and found self in room with many others. A small...fracs? Is that vut mini is called? Vas vearing a...." Mathias gestured at his face with both hands, frowning as he struggled to recall the word he was thinking of. "Covering on face....mask!" He sighed, slumping even further in his chair.

"Vas told that four could leave if exit vas found, that after vas found, needed to be finding help vithin twenty four hours or all vould die. Said ve had done this thing many times before but had not done it right. He had things that belonged to us. He had rooms that made you see things that vere not there. Ich bin jetzt müde.

Aurel, who knew no bounds of personal space, put his hand on Mathias' shoulder as he slouched down into the seat and tugged lightly - look, he seemed to say, rest here. He was still full of adrenaline and annoyance and couldn't really feel the pain of his own at the moment. Beast mode was useful, sometimes, though it was starting to wane.

"And you said that the map is in this bag?" The Bogey opened the makeshift bag and found the two crumpled maps, frowning at them. "How long have you two been gone?"

"I do not know, I was not wearing a watch." Aurel said sardonically, "Long enough. It takes a long time to get there. You need to go. You need to go ten minutes ago. Please. They will die. They are far from a pumpkin patch. We watched one die already."

And several more had gone off and not reconvened. He was sure they were dead, too.

"...Right. Well. We can take official statements when you are both not in obvious distress and the rest of the students are safe. You boils are free to go, but I do think going to the hospital to have the fear healers check you out and put you right would be a prudent step." He went into action, then, calling out for a squad.

Aurel seemed to visibly relax, at that, closing his eyes. Maybe they would make it in time. "About Jacking time." he muttered.
