Li Shou's usual monthly trip to the maul had begun. His parents, who had been oddly quiet in response to his many letters home, still managed to send him an allowance (though it seemed like the seed bags were getting strangely lighter).

Either way, his first stop was always the candy store. Swedish fish were more important to him than all the other foods in the world. They sustained him. Kept him hoping in this bleak, uncaring world.

And he usually got 3-4 lbs every month... Which never seemed to be enough.

"That'll be 30 seeds, kid." The bored cashier sighed, handing over the bag as Li Shou forked over the money. Ah, yes. His addiction had been taken care of, and now he could do the rest of his shopping. Hm. Where to go first?

There were a great many scents that Frost was accustomed to when he went out. Food, being one, plant being another, and metal, as odd as it was- Frost's nose was top notch and he was fairly used to the regular scents that pervaded his day to day life.

Cats on the other hand? Cats made him have to stop to smell. Especially when they were cats he did know he'd smelled before but wasn't sure if he'd actually met them. Or caught them. And catching cats was important.

So that was how Frost ended up getting sidetracked in the maul to seek out the scent of a cat.

The candy store was reeking of sugar but he could smell cat and following the trail, he stopped when near. Peeking over one of the short displays he saw the cat.

Frost had found his target.

Li Shou, blissfully distracted by his fishy fix, was completely unaware of Frost's approach.

Clinging to his bag, the boil prepared to leave when he heard something... Odd.

His ears perked, swiveling this way and that before he briefly glanced over his shoulder.

Was that guy looking at him?

Li Shou could feel the fur on his tail prickle as a sense of deja vu hit. This was incredibly familiar but he couldn't remember why or where he had seen this older boil.

His head turned, eyes panicked. It was time to power walk away. Not run. Running means you know something is wrong. Power walking could mean you're just a fast walker. Yeah, nothings wrong. Everything's cool. I'm not trying to flee the scene...

He just needed to find a place with a lot of people. Yeah. That's it...
