Those muscles were so impressive! Look how they bulged and retracted so quickly, with speed he'd not expect from another outside his own kind. It was definitely a pleasant surprise though. The more and more their mini-spar went on, the more the stallions eyes started to light up, the brilliant gold glazed and burning like a freshly birthed flame. He couldn't take his eyes off of Uru, as if in a trance of some kind, in this intricate little dance of theirs.

The grin remained in place as he was poised behind the canine, reacting to the retaliation that he'd been waiting for. However, the grin faltered slightly as that fist took on a different form. Were those... claws? blinking with surprise, his wings gave a flash of a beat and pushed him backwards to create a little more space due to the shock. His eyes widened as the boil he'd been dueling with began to shift and transform right before his very eyes! Mouth slightly agape in awe, it only seemed to drop just a little more when that revealed new form was presented.

Wow...

Transforming wasn't something he was oblivious to, but seeing it for the first time from a breed he'd only recently become acquainted with was a shocker. But look at how magnificent this beast was before him! His features slowly started lighting up, grin cutting back across his face, his own teeth exposed with an actual genuine, full on grin.. the first one he'd had since coming to this place. In fact, this was the first time he'd ever felt, and looked, so alive since that fateful day. He was brimming with mounting energy, pumping through his entire being! A light chuckle echoed faintly from under his breath at that powerful growl, eyes trailing along that massive furry body, as his own began to lower into a sort of crouched position, wings flaring out to their full width, prepped and ready. He could feel Uru's power emitting from across the way, fueling the horsemans excitement.

The ground shuddered under his braced feet, as the large hellhound came rushing at him, wings pushing to give him the maneuvering he needed to dodge those brutal attacks. But his grin kept peeled in place, eyes wide and attentive, a look of.... happiness..? etched on his face. It felt so good to be this alive again, his heart pumping, muscles working hard to react in time in even the most split of seconds! the danger, the thrill! As those strong arms came down, Qui gave a mighty push backwards into a back flip, wings snapping out to cushion him and slow his momentum down as he landed. That was a close one. He'd been able to feel those claws graze against a few tendrils of his hair! It reminded him of when he'd wrestle the wild creatures back home, enormous beasts that could break every bone in your body if you weren't skilled enough! But he was a horseman of the War clan. He was bred for this!

He had a light panting going on now, chest lightly heaving, but not at all fully winded. A light gloss of sweat faintly accented along his skin, tingling with sensitivity. A slight narrowing of his eyes was given, non-threatening of course, but more so playful, as he got into a ready position again, "Show me what else you can do." he encouraged, more then welcoming to see what else this big boy could do.

His heart swell with pride, and some vanity, as he watched that grin falter and left the male awestruck at his visage. To be fair, Qui moved like the wind. It was the only way he was able to describe him. Recalling a book he had read, the Horseman moved like the grass, bending at the most gentle of pushes, yet strong as bamboo stiff and hardy but yield to the wind. Leaves danced in their embrace just as his form lifted and fell with such grace that could make the most delicate and trained dancers jealous of how effortless he made it seem. His wings sprung to their full length was breath-taking and how they moved as he glided down from the air with a grace unlike this world's ever seen. It was almost angelic... and for a demon, that was damning.

Uru's Hël'würgen shift was unlike most other hellhounds. In fact, every hellhound had their own unique transformations, but his family's was unique in that it was instantaneous. Uru was unique that the wisps were not blue like his family's where their forms burned away in a blaze of blue flames but in wisps of shadows. He had attributed it to being his father's son, but everyone knows that Halloweeners take after only one of their parents. Unlike other hellhounds, his clothes did not rip and tear off into shreds on the ground, he didn't double over in excruciating pain as his body went into shock as his organs collapsed, expanded, shrank, or otherwise, he didn't cry out in pain as his body was ripped apart. No, his form simply shifted from a six foot humanoid to a near ten foot (while standing straight) hound. However, the downside was that he was incapable of speaking in this state. Only those who have been trained and mastered in this form were capable of speaking in it... like his mother. Like his father.

The demon watched as Qui flittered back a distance, putting space between them. He could smell it. He could smell that sweat. He could smell ... the excitement? It was sweet and warm honey, that was how it smelled. It was the smell of excitement, happiness. It was then that the challenge was made. Ontop of running around campus, sparring as a human and as a demon, he was getting close to his limitations so landing a hit would be necessary here. Then again, limits were meant to be pushed.

Snarling, Uru charged forth, lunging with his large paw as he swung down. As the swipe was evaded, his momentum continued as the shadows overtook him once more revealing his humanoid shape, bringing his leg down with a hard, overhead arch that connected his heel to the ground. He had been working on this for a while but never actually done anything with it. He had figured if he fought a Hunter, or something worse, that his patterns and style would be recognized and read as a humanoid or as a demon, but how could one predict him if he was constantly shifting? Uru came at Qui with left-right hooks and uppers, following with heavier strikes that required him to shift into his demon wolf. Still, he kept his trained eyes on Qui, one gold, one blue. It was the common feature among his forms. In the brief moments that he shifted from humanoid to demon, his attire fell away to reveal his flesh, his muscles, the small triskele marks on his right wrist and below his rib on his left flank. His fur seemed to cascade over the bundle of meat underneath the surface as he moved, the light gliding over his form as he danced that brutal dance. His wolf slashed and snapped, jumped and lunged. His humanoid jabbed and kicked, thrusted, feinted, and pivoted.

If all else failed, his canid form lunged on a full on tackle with his massive form and weight. That was more of a mix signal of himself where he had shifted between the mentality of a wolf and himself resulting in a clumsy ball of fur and muscle tripping over himself.

Oops.

Now that was something Qui had never seen before! The rapid transformation between boil and beast was so very impressive! Surely something like that must feel quite strange, not to mention the effort it would require to adjust to the vast differences in size, mass, and weight. The stallion was entranced by the sight he was beholding, smile brimming, and light chuckles of laughter trickling from under his breath very subtly once in awhile as they continued their dangerous bout.

For a brief moment, he toyed with the idea of what it must be like to ride such a creature such as Uru's demon form. But that idea would have to wait for later, as he had to really up his game and raise his awareness another level in order to avoid getting an unsavory impact with a massive claw, or a clamp from those powerful jaws. It was a challenge, to be sure, causing quite a few close calls for the horseman, and a few of his feathers getting nicked in the process, the bones littered on him rattling with his more sharp movements.

The feathers got tangled in the currents from the rapid motions of the duet, adding to the atmosphere between them. Unfortunately... while maneuvering his various limbs was something Qui had been used to since birth, he was so caught up in his fascination with Uru that his attention wasn't fully atune to his own self. It was then that Uru was able to land a punch through the feathers on one of the grandiose wings. But Qui's instincts heightened at that moment. As Uru made his last charge, the stallion leapt and his hands raised to place onto the beasts shoulders, vaulting over the shifted form!

Landing on his feet after a somersault, he quickly looked over his shoulder, only to find... a most peculiar sight. Blinking a moment at the sight of his faltering opponent, Qui slowly raised himself to stand straight, wings lax at his side. It didn't look like the guy was hurt, thankfully. With a more modest grin on his face, the clansmen turned around fully to stroll calmly on over to his sparring partner, "That was quite fun." He crouched down beside the figure that'd stumbled just moments ago, wings folding neatly at his side, fluffing themselves in their natural way to get comfy. "Can't say I've ever seen something like that before."

*cough* you're welcome.

Close calls, that was all he was able to manage even with the display of his shifts between boil and beast. Trying to concentrate with the shift was difficult to say the least, his body feeling the pull from one consciousness to another, yet he was still the same. He often called his instincts his 'wolf' and that was what it was, instinct that took over, guiding him as it saw fit. On top of that, he had to consciously consider his movements that befitted his style of combat between kick-boxing to wild, reckless abandon of tooth and nail. The difference between weight, height, and limb lengths was something he still had to consider whenever he shifted which would be his reasoning of why his attacks were either too short or too far on the target.

Uru laid there, on the ground, his body back as a boil, panting heavily on the ground. A thin film of sweat glistened over his form, his shirt now darkened by moisture, his eyes closed and starfished out. "Don't do that often. Takes a toll." And it certainly did, the shifting was taxing on him mentally and physically. He didn't go through the excruciating pain that some therians do, but there was stress on his muscles that did require to grow to compensate for the new growth of his body and adjust to the shape. With a groan, the demon sat up right, one arming his soaked tanktop off, laying it beside him. Arms thick, his chest strong with linebacker shoulders, slight peppering of hair along his forearm and between his pectorals. The scruff on his face and hair on his chest was mostly a result of not caring too much about his appearance after his exile. But it has became apart of him long enough that they're there to stay. "Didn't manage to hit you. I'll just have to train harder." he breathed.

+ + What a man <33

His own chest kept heaving lightly itself, as he worked on calming his racing heart that'd been pumping that adrenaline through his body and surging forth those War clansmen instincts inside of him. Man it'd felt so good to feel that again. So long it'd been dormant, it felt. Like spreading ones wings after having them folded and tucked tightly away for centuries. Really, he had to thank this guy.

This guy... whose name he realized he didn't know.

Ready to ask such a question, his mouth even parting to begin speaking, he paused. He couldn't help it, really... How could anyone, when that tank top stripped away to reveal such an impeccably stunning sight of raw powerful muscle? He openly stared, too. There'd been glimpses of it during their clashing that he'd gotten peeks of, however it wasn't long enough until it was covered up again by that coat of fur. This guy... was seriously ripped. It was the sort of stature he'd expect to see in the Death horsemen. So stocky, broad, bulky, and bulging... Though he wasn't so sure how a War horseman would fair with such impressive musculature.. or how much the trees would like it. But the mares and surely would be fawning over a guy built like that. And some fellow stallions, too, of course. Smirking lightly to himself, a hand ran through his hair to push it out of the way from clinging to his face, making his eyes veer off to not seem too obvious. "Yeah, I wouldn't doubt it does. Was a surprise for sure."

Glancing to one of his wings, he stretched it out, exposing the spot that'd been punched through.. which was now a bit naked due to the feathers that were lacking. They'd grow back. A hand ran over the space in a sort of curious fashion, "I'm pretty rusty, myself. You came too close for comfort plenty of times. Haven't had that much fun since..." his voice trailed, and he was silent for a beat.

No time for that. Couldn't let a good moment go to waste with memories tainting it!

Looking back to Uru, his head canted slightly, "I'm Quidel, by the way." a hand was extended in offer, eyes very briefly admiring the build again. --How'd he get so big...?-- before forcing back up.

I am so mean XD Innuendos and gratuitous descriptions.

"That was the point." The demon groaned as he pushed himself up. He knew the Horseman was looking. It wasn't a new thing for him. He knew creeple looked at him while he was at the gym. He could hear their whispers, their fluttering hearts, how their footsteps would sudden pause for a moment before starting again. He didn't care if they looked, he was proud of his body, it was a piece of work. He worked out regularly before and he pride himself that he was going to be a demon with the body of a monster. Comparably. However, it wasn't until recently that he had started to work out again, going to the gym, since his stint of depression and psychological trauma. Exiling a member of a pack - the sudden disconnection of ties to a heavily tactile and social creature - it was... impacting. The habit of going to the gym was suddenly stopped and he actually enjoyed the time to be able to stop going there and just relaxing. Staying with the monster hellhound, he found his time spent there or out running. Running was what he should be doing more, his chest was starting to come out some. He rather be lean than so bulky that he needed help to reach places.

Uru's eyes fell to the wing, the spot of missing feathers definitely stood out among the majestic appearance of the limb. It was a shame, honestly, and he would feel a bit guilty. Damien tells him to go out to make friends, meet people, be social, and he goes and rips feathers off an ancient clan of beings that he had never met before today. Good going. "Rusty or not, you did well to escape me. Though, hope that isn't your tactic; tire me out to strike back because you can't always outlast me." He definitely noticed the trail off. Lifting his arm over his head, he glanced at his side where there was a faint scratch of triplicate just under his arm above the triskele mark there. Oddly, he did not smell like one would expect. The scent of vanilla and crisp chill wafted from him constantly, mostly because of his habit of burning Fang Snare. Who needs deodorant when you smell like that!?

Standing before the Horseman, the six foot - odd hellhound met the proffered hand, the large hand taking in the smaller. There was a softness there that one would not expect from someone like him. There was a twitch of his lip ... he was at least trying to smile. Sweaty, breathing slowly adjusting down to a calmer level, his athletic shorts riding low around his hips ((luckily, his tail won't let them ride any lower)), his Adam's Girdle framed with the hem of his gray briefs. The small dark tri-swirl triskele on the offered hand's wrist. "Uru'baen." he answered.

hey, we're I'm not complaining. B}

It was an excellent devised plan, on the hellhounds part. An opponent would definitely struggle to read the movements, and reactions from two powerful beings. Heck, Qui was only able to due to having trained with both beast and kin. Perhaps he had an unfair advantage.

The wing stretched out a few times, some more feathers delicately drifting off to grace the ground... which lead him to glancing around at the other feathers that littered along the place from their duel. Was he molting that much? With another light fluffing, the wing tucked itself back into place. However, Uru's prompt brought about another twitch at his grin to make it a smirk, "If I were hunting you, it would be." he mused, casually. Though... he gave pause. "Can't always outlast you, huh? I would be interested on testing that theory sometime." he added on, with playful challenge to his tone. That was how one took down colossal creatures, after all. Since he lacked the brute strength to combat them full on, he had to tire them out, confuse them, and blur their senses. While he was proud that he could wrestle most large cats, it wasn't always the best course of action... as his past rash decisions had proved.

His eyes darted to the odd attachments the hellhound bore along his ribs. What were those for..? Wait.. he'd seen these on the other hellhound he'd seen. Was this part of their species trait? Interesting. What purpose did they serve.. or was it more for aesthetics? With the handshake complete, he gave a nod of acknowledgement. Uru'baen. Cool name. He gave a sideways glance to the towering school in the distance, "Been here long then?" he inquired. Semi-fresh to these grounds still, himself, Qui wondered who the veteran were around this place.

Uru could fight all out. He could fight with calculations and foresight. His fighting changed on his current state; calculated and precise with evasions and strong strikes as a boil or unpredictable, wild swings of evisceration and death as a beast. In either case, he could, theoretically, outlast someone if he did not give into his instincts and go into a fight with the thought of taking someone down. He could learn from Qui to outlast and tire someone out before finishing the bout. Perhaps that's why Brenna beat him as often as she did... "Another time." He offered as he retrieved his hand.

Uru traced the Horseman's gaze to his wrist and to his side. His marks were what was drawing his attention. So it wasn't just his body that seemed to silence the ancient but apparently interested him as well. "They're proof of my rights and my victories. They'll stay there until I claim them. I don't intend to any time soon... not unless those victories decide to show their faces to me again." He answered the unspoken question, his fingers digging into his skin, pulling it to show the dark mark on his side. To him, and for what he was always told, the three spirals indicated the three packs of his area; Umbra, Maero, Cocytus. Bone, Shadow, and Frost. In ways, he held relations to two of the three and never has he met the third. Now? He would never be able to unless they were to come to him. He was a demon and they were bound by laws and rules. Should they agree to them anyway.

"I'm a second year. Completed my exams not too long ago." he replied. It was shortly after that that everything went down. And then a month after that, he had moved in with his only friend on campus. And it had been a few weeks of that until this point of time. At least, that was what it felt like. "Imagine if I used my FEAR." he grinned as he looked over his shoulder to the towering school. Oh how Qui would have been impressed to see blue fire that froze what it touched. As graceful as the being was, he was light and if he was not careful, could certainly slip. Darn, he could have landed a good hit then too. Qui would certainly be pleased with how Uru's body was turned to look at Amityville, his muscles stretched along his flank. Somewhere, deep deep deep down, he was enjoying this attention.

"What of you? I haven't heard of the Horsemen until recently and you are the first." His voice deep and there was a hint of question as if to say - what are your intentions.

The surprise was easily written all over Qui's face when the markings were shown. Instantly, he gave a slow lean forward for a better look at what was revealed to him, head tipping to really examine the intricate designs. Such an in depth culture hellhounds seemed to have. Well, at least Uru did. Victories, and rights... those things looked like they could be uncomfortable, placed where they were. But Qui could respect a rich tradition. After all, his kind was chalk full of tradition! By the sounds of it, this guy really was a big shot.

He was tempted again to take a poke at those spots. Were they itchy ever? maybe uncomfortable to lay on his side with? "That's pretty cool." he complimented in the end, giving an approving grin.

It really sounded like Uru had things going for him. Like he had things together. To be honest, Qui was a bit jealous, considering how he was still floating aimlessly about trying to find himself, and his place in life now. He'd wanted to visit the school itself, as he'd still yet to... but he hesitated everytime he got too close, always keeping on the grounds far from the huge building, or on neutral areas. It was unknown territory, as most of this new world was to him, but that was a place he'd be trapped in should something go awry. And.. he wasn't sure what the students would think of his invasive presence. Would he be welcomed there...? He was still trying to gauge the relations here...

His golden gaze snapped back up to the big hunks at the mention of his FEAR, making his grin lift with interest, and brow crook faintly, "yeah? I'll be it's pretty awesome, huh?" if it were anything like the show that was put on just moments ago, he could only imagine. Crossing his arms over his chest, a sort of cocky expression very vaguely shifted on his features, chest puffing up just a touch, "Mines not too shabby either." he teased. It was certainly brutal, that was for sure.

His expression softened a little though as the question was flipped onto him, a hand raising again to idly smooth through his hair, eyes drifting to the side, "relatively new here, myself." how much did this guy know about Horsemen? Did he know their reason for being here now? what had happened...? "I'm honored to be your first, though." he jested to lighten the subject some, a small wry glance spared Uru's way. "It certainly is different here, from what I'm used to. That's for sure. Still trying to adjust, I guess." he admitted.

His FEAR utilized his family's signature, unique ability to command blue flames. If it was not the idea of fire or burning alive that got one's stomach drop, it is the sensation of the chill and freezing that will sink it. However, he wasn't the biggest magic user, being a demon, even when it came to something like this. Thus, haven't been able to manifest outside of battles. Which is all good considering the display he had earlier. Planting his arms on his hips, consciously trying not to mirror the Horseman before him because that was his go-to posture. "We'll have to see about that some time, won't we?" Uru scoffed.

Qui ran his hand through his hair, another thing he did from time to time. Thought this was gel? No, it was sweat. Disgusting as it was, it gave him a look he never intended on having, but apparently it was a common look now. "Same way when I came here." He offered. He had a tough time adjusting even if it was what he had wanted. He was free from his family, he was able to do what he wanted and not be completely limited to the rules and torment of his mother. However, the feeling was brief as he found himself trying to find things for himself to do. "Give it time, it works itself out." Oh how that had whole other meanings for him. If it weren't for his friend, he'd still be moping around in the Weeping Forest about his predicament. "If all else fails, you could try finding me."

Qui would definitely be looking forward to the next time they sparred, to be certain. He'd like to feel that sensation of being alive again, something closer to the norm he'd once had. To feel like he was at home again. With a nod of agreement, he left it at that. It was nice to have something to look forward to.

His attention honed back in on the big lug with the returned answer that was parallel to his explanation. Uru'd struggled here too? Now he was even more curious... It was hard for Qui to imagine others having a hard time finding themselves here, especially one of the Halloweeners. Being in such a grand school, surely there was a vast variety of peers, and with Uru being as impressive as he was... it was just hard for Qui to think that such a guy would have trouble finding a place here. He tried to not let it show, by shifting his weight and his wings lightly. Since he'd arrived here he hadn't made any connections, nor felt any sense of welcome. All the horsemen who'd found sanctuary here had their own agenda's, friends, and routines. No time for a still shellshocked newcomer. Really, he couldn't blame them. Had to figure things out on your own, it seemed. Every stallion for himself. Not something he was used to, that's for sure.

Time... how long had it been since he'd come here? A few months, now. Over half of a year. Perhaps that wasn't much compared to most though. But he was thankful for the assurance, nonetheless. He was hopeful that such words were true...
Looking back up to the towering boil at the considerate offer, a smile returned to his lips. "Thanks, I appreciate it." He knew of at least one place he could find the hellhound confidently. However... if he couldn't, that did make him wonder...

"How do they feel about horsemen being up there?" he asked, eyes gesturing to the mansion of a school in the distance.

His first year he was selfish, he was all about himself and did not give anyone the time of day. He used to work out all the time, just as much as he did now, he knew people liked to look at him and he looked younger than, but the perpetual grumpy expression seemed to turn people away. Which was alright with him. He didn't interact socially anyway. Perhaps that was why he only had one friend and the only way that had happened was he was exiled and the guy felt bad for him and took him home. Perhaps he should find himself lucky that he had someone that cared about him enough to tolerate his gumpy butt.

"I have not seen one there, but I heard of them around the town. Not so much the campus." Uru turned to look at the towering school buildings. Just beyond that was the dorms for the various students. His arm outstretched as he mentally recalled a map, tracing it as he adjusted his position to point off to the right. "There's the town. You could find non-students there."

Uru groaned as he pulled his shoulders back, stretching as there was a subtle pop. Okay, the sweat was evaporating which was a nice cooling, but he was getting sticky and he could almost smell the underlying scent of salt. Maybe, if he was good, he could get a shower in. "I should head back. My friend will probably start dinner soon and I can't have him wait." Uru offered, glancing over his shoulder at the Horseman. Hopefully, Qui didn't take it as an abrupt departure, but, it is what it is. Living with someone meant he was on somewhat of a schedule, or at least be courteous enough to give them the respect to show up to eat.

Huh... would his showing up there cause a ruckus? Maybe it was something frowned upon..? Well there was always the easy way to find out, by just sauntering into the place and gauging the reactions he got. Or until someone tried to kick him out. The thought amused him.

He tried to avoid the town. All that hustle and bustle, with so many people. It was a bit overwhelming to the senses, not to mention he was quite green to its layout still. That could be blamed upon his own sulking for so long since arriving here. But hey, at least he wasn't doing it so much anymore. That had to count for something. When Uru spoke again, Qui watched him from the corner of his eyes, a comfortable fain grin taking refuge on his face. " Sure, wouldn't want to keep you." dinner with a friend, that sounded nice. His own wings gave a long stretch of their own, blinking down as a few more feathers fluttered to the ground. Looks like he was in need of some grooming himself. A nice bath and then some preening to get rid of what ever loose feathers needed some assistance with molting.

Folding them back up, he let his attention rest back on Uru, "Thanks for today. Was a nice change of pace. Hopefully be seeing you around."

"If you are lurking the woods, you might." he said off handed as he dropped to all fours, allowing himself to shift. The large canine rumbled briefly, circling the Horseman, his eyes looking the being up and down, his nose working as he came to a full rotation. He was familiarizing himself with the scent, it would help if he could pinpoint the Horseman among the trees should the two happen to be in the woods at the same time. Uru gave a huff before darting off into the woods like a spooked deer. He should be home in less than ten minutes, definitely needed to take a shower at his own place before heading over to the monster's dorm.

It wouldn't dawn on him that he had left his shirt behind until he had returned to his room and returned to his boil form, but he had plenty of those to spare. He was leaving things everywhere nowadays anyway, his head was in an entirely different place at times. Though, today, he had met his first Horseman. Curious race those are. A story to share later.
