User Image Prinike had been here before, fought before... lost before. But her determination was unwavering. She had tried to join the pride of the Stormborn and was turned away after she lost a duel, welcome to challenge again and all the more steadfast in her decision to join. She nursed her wounds and practiced in the rouge lands at the edge of the pride until she was healed and again confident.

"Reavers! I ask you for a duel!"

The white lioness paced back and forth, wondering who, if anyone, would answer her call to battle.

It had been a rather quiet day for the tall dark reaver, rumbling around the border and just keeping an eye out on things. He had spent more and more of his time away from his older twin's shadow - becoming a lion of his own.

The strong voice wasn't lost on him, though, and had reached him quickly, making his eyebrow raise as he went to find out who was mewling so late in the day. Clearing his throat, he wandered up until he saw the white lioness, standing as tall as he could.

"I will take your charge." He answered, giving her a nod. "Come at me, we will see how you have learnt."

Prinike nodded curtly and inhaled, lunging forward. She went in low, keeping her vulnerable belly close to the ground. She hoped her few encounters and skirmishes had taught her enough. She pushed any thoughts from her mind about how large the male was or how good all the fighters she'd been pitted against were so far. She wouldn't be deterred by something so insignificant as a few hundred pounds.

She ducked to his side in an effort to get past those sharp teeth and thick mane and she took a swipe at his stomach.

Farkas watched the lioness as she steeled herself for the upcoming battle, a grin showing on his face - she was ready to put it all on the line - and he liked those who came at him as if they had everything to lose. Planting his paws down against the ground, he anticipated the blow.

She was quick - and lithe, and it took the wolves' son off guard for a moment, a rumble emitting from his throat as she took a swipe at his stomach, turning a little to slowly and feeling the blow immediately. Holding his own, he continued to circle until he was looking over her again, going to swipe down at her, hoping to put some distance between them, so she couldn't try to do anything more in quick succession.

The growl from his throat seemed like thunder in the heat of the battle. She managed to land the hit, but before she could pass him to get in position to launch another attack, he circled tightly and a swipe from his heavy paw caught her on her back, knocking her paws out from under her for an instant.

She bit her tongue from the blow, and spit out the blood. This was what all her training and the past battles were for, what they led up to. She'd make this next hit harder, she'd make it count. With the power behind his attacks, she couldn't withstand it too long, she figured.

Gathering her paws under her and springing forward, she took another swipe, this time at his face. Maybe she could hit an eye with her paw pad and temporarily blind him. Or maybe an ear and throw him off balance. He was big, but she was quick, and another advantage for one or the other could decide the fight.

She was crafty in the way that she moved, and it was something that he would have to commandeer her about. Almost frustrating, how lithe this lioness was, dancing with Farkas like it was nothing. He almost regretted when she started bleeding from the mouth - an unseen wound that he had scored without lifting a paw. Figuratively.

She had caught him thinking, though, and without warning, she had lunged in to his face, an open offense to take his eyes out - or something to that effect. Twisting in a unprepared way, he took most of the attack, his head whipping back as fast as it could in recoil, eyes blinking at the feeling of being accosted.

He was out for this round, trying to recover as fast as he could.

Prinike's hopes were beginning to rise when a well-placed blow landed on the mighty lion's head. The challenger was doing well against the reaver. Maybe second time was the charm? Her grey paws were light and lithe in dancing around Farkas.

She licked her lips in anticipation, spitting out more blood.

Her red eyes narrowed as she searched him for an opening, and found one that might be a big help to her. While he was still reeling, she ducked her head and lunged in for a chance to try and push him over, get the big guy off his feet. With him on the ground, his size advantage would be gone, right?

Normally his height was an advantage for battling, but he had one pretty strong fl -- okay two strong flaws, but one of them didn't matter here. Mainly, it was speed - little flighty creatures were hard for him to keep an eye on, and harder to fight with.

Feeling the pressure of her lithe little body jumping out at him, her lunge hit in him in a strange position, which made the Reaver fall over, bouncing a couple times on the ground before trying to catch himself again, roaring loudly and swiping out at her, trying to connect something.

Prinike's heart leapt when she sent the Reaver tumbling. All her practicing in the roguelands after she recovered from her last duel, must have paid off and been all worth the wait to challenge again for her entry into the pride. His swipe caught one of her back legs and nearly pulled it from under her and the lioness off balance, but she managed to recover well enough to counter with an attack of her own.

With the massive lion knocked to the ground and not yet fully up, Prinike took the advantage he usually hogged of height and took another swipe at his face. If he'd been knocked down once, maybe a blow to the head would make him even dizzier or off balance and he'd concede, unable to keep getting back up.
