Opening your eyes is difficult. Everything feels fuzzy and unreal. There's a blurry haze at the edge of your vision, constantly reminding you that something is Not Quite Right.
The first thing you hear as your focus returns is the soft chiming of tiny bells. You're lying in cold, fluffy, white snow, and it's starting to seep into your clothes. When you stand, you see a precious little forest of pine trees ahead, and beyond that a treasured little town. The houses are all made of gingerbread, and roofed with icing. All roads lead to the end of the the village, where a giant red house stands tall and proud. Before you can even think to go down the roads, you're stopped by elves of all kinds, trying to get you to go back to work.
It's toymaking time!
You're ushered into one of the many gingerbread houses, where dozens of elves are hard at work making toys. It seems that you, too, are expected to join them - or raise suspicion instantly. Why would they think you should join them too, unless..?
You realize now that you are small, and wearing the same clothing as the elves around you. What's more, the sound of bells you woke up to were coming from you all along - the tiny jingle bells on your pointed shoes are the last clue you need to figure all of this out.
You are a Christmas Elf. The question is, why?
The OOC You and your group are somehow transported into the world of Christmas Town. What's worse, you seem to have been transformed yourself - you are a denizen of the world! You're tiny, elf-like, and wearing the same clothes as the other elves around you. Claws, tails, extra eyes, special powers and abilities - everything seems to be missing. The only things that are still you are your colors - hair, eyes, skin.Your job is to explore, without raising suspicion. Whether or not you remain safe during your time in Christmas Town lies solely on how good you are at fooling the real elves while still researching your surroundings. In every post you make, roll 1d10. This is your stealth roll. Continue to interact with your fellow researchers as you explore the world, but if you roll a 10, quote me (Nio Love) because you've attracted some trouble.

This was not the first time that Thackery had visited Christmastown, if that was what this place was, but this was definitely the first time that he had ever been an elf. He thought it was the first time, at least.
Maybe.
It made sense that he would have to make toys, so he happily went along to do so, wagging his tail that didn't exist. The scent of gingerbread made his mouth water, but it was more important to work on the toys like he was supposed to, so he tried his hardest to not think about eating it.
But it smelled so delicious.
Someone else seemed to think so, and he beamed over at them, looking a bit happy even for an elf.
"Do you think they'll let us eat it if we're good? Huh?" he asked, fumbling over the toy in his hands as he spoke. He was one of the types that could not walk and chew gum at the same time, for sure.

Olivia hadn't even thought about working on the toys, even though she had been ushered with the others and set right in front of a work station. The pieces just sat there forgotten as her attentions were elsewhere, staring up at the new place she had been taken to. Because this was her first time actually being in Christmastown after all; her first encounter had been brought to them instead.
Thack didn't receive an answer at first, Olivia simply blinked at him for a moment when she turned to him. Trying to place him, since he seemed probably like her and not an elf or something. Though, she couldn't figure out who he exactly was, she could gather he was probably meant to be taller and something told her that he would look much better with some fluffy ears and a tail. "Is eating building common here?" She then asked him. When they came to visit, it didn't seem like they did. Though, "or is that why they build smaller versions of them?" that one teacher had been very happy to smash them too.
It was then that she spared a glance down and noticed the collection of parts before her and her eyes instantly lit up. Craft project?! But wait, where were the stickers and glitter? And the crayons? Olivia frowned for a moment as she inspected the various parts, all made of plastic or wood. Much of it was red, there seemed to be some wheels and perhaps a ladder? She began to stack them, unsure of how they went.

It was a very good question, and Thackery thought about it for as long as he was able to. That was not very long.
"Um, well, I dunnooo," he replied, face screwed up in thought. "But we could try!"
It never hurt to be optimistic.
The toy-part sending-machine was standing still anyway, so it couldn't hurt for him to leave it. He considered just eating one of the candy canes from the bowl in the middle of the room, but he'd just eaten one of those - they didn't smell nearly as delicious as the buildings did, anyway.
He made his way towards the closest wall, and looked over his shoulder.
"Okay! Here goes!" And with that, he licked the wall.

Licking the wall wasn't even that weird. It was delicious, tasty, and -
Made Thackery drop to the floor unconscious.
Or was it even the wall? Scattered through the shop, all of the elves that seemed a little out of place fell one by one. Olivia dropped right onto the conveyer belt, just as it started up again. Vaith crumpled to the floor, and the elf who'd screamed now hopped over to check on him.
"Hello! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to be so judgemental! Please, don't die just because I said I didn't like black! It's just, nobody really likes black - I'm sorry, I'm doing it again! Please, please don't die! Hey! I'll sing for you! Will that wake you up? Deck the Halls with bows of holly, fa la la la laaaaa-"
But no carols were going to save you, now. One by one, each of you fall. The world begins to swim and swirl into a mass of colors, until finally, you hear a loud, throbbing sound, and the world goes black.

Well, trying didn't seem too bad of an option really. An optimists herself, Olivia couldn't see any harm with the concept unless death seemed like it would be a likely result, but even then more often than not she would still attempt. Except when fire was involved. But that was digressing.
Olivia didn't get the chance to see the results of Thackery's endeavors, though, as a few of the elves - those were elves, right? - started to pluck a few around her one by one. Surprisingly, she seemed to be left where she was, at her work station with bits of toy pieces still in her hand. Her blue eyes creased in worry as she watched a few of the others go, wondering where they would be heading off to and she had half a mind to just follow anyways.
But she never got the chance as one of those weird feelings came over her, the type that she only experienced a few times. Her eyelids felt heavy, hard for her to keep open until they soon fell and closed and soon enough her body followed suit, slumping over with a hard plop onto the conveyor belt (which now seemed to be up and running, and taking her body to places unknown... maybe).
