When the final guest closed the door to the shop, Candy Dandy let out a long overdue sigh. Then she surveyed the room with dismay.
When she agreed to let the foal have her birthday party in the store, she never imagined the sheer number of foals that would be attending. And each of those foals needed a drink, and then a cookie, and then a refill, and then....
She shook her head wearily. There were empty paper cups on every available table, and cupcake wrappers overflowed the garbage can. She smelled sugar; she was sure at least one soda had been spilled in the course of the party. She sighed again and went to the kitchen, running the water from the faucet until it was hot and putting it in a bucket with some soap. Grasping the bucket handle in her teeth, she took it out into the main shop to begin cleaning.

Afterparty Aftermath loved getting new things to try, new things to use. Samples were a weakness of his, as well a coupon clipping and sales. The tiny foal loves spring cleaning sales. Mostly, because he could get so many new and facy things. One such thing was a 'Brushie Brushie Mop Suds Buster 7000'. A high end quality cleaning tool for any serious stain master and the foal had seen it on sale. Granted just a tad cheaper, but it was enough. He'd been saving for months and finally, he had enough to buy one, all for himself. No more secretly using his mother's. Hopping from the store, he was on his way back home when the smell of sugar drew him to a particularly nice shop. Only, when he peeked into the windows to see what smelled so sweet, he saw.. well he saw a mess. Not in top ship shop shape that was for sure. The mare inside hardly looked happy... and in need of help. Knocking at the door, Afterparty hoped he wasn't being too rude. "Hello?"

Candy was just beginning her cleaning when a small knock at the door caught her attention. She looked over to see a foal at the front of the shop, and considered telling him the place was closed. But that would be rude!
So she opened the door and said "Hello! How can I help you? I'm sorry the place is a little bit of a mess. I just had a birthday party come through, and I'm afraid they left an...impression." She wrought the word with a little bitterness, then cast it away. She moved to the side, allowing the foal to enter while kicking a couple napkins away from the door.

"An impression?" He shook his head, "Miss, they left a mess. An impression would be a painting style! Thats what somepony told me once. It was very popular once, Impressionism! Er, I think. I didn't pay much attention." He looked at the mess, treading lightly, feelings something stick catch on one of his hooves. "Er, is that..." He didn't even finish, the scent telling him yes, that would probably stain later. "Would you like some help miss? My name is Afterparty Aftermath, and well, I do this sort of thing all the time."

Candy giggled. "Honestly, I don't think I know if Impressionism was a big deal or not. Art really wasn't my thing in school." Actually, she really didn't care for school all that much at all when she was a foal!
When he asked to help, her first instinct was to tell him that she would be fine. After all, he didn't come here just to help her clean up a mess! But when he said it was his..well, thing, Candy found she couldn't refuse.
Plus it would be nice to have somephony to talk to while she worked.
"Oh! Are you sure? Help would be wonderful!" She said, clapping her hooves together. "It will make the process go by twice as fast!"

Afterparty jumped for joy when he was told her could help. "I'd be please as punch to help you! Cleaning is fun to me-" Speaking of punch, he went over to the punch bowl, carefully taking it off the table and looking at her, excitedly. "-And I am an artist in cleaning ma'am! I'll make this place spot less! That way next time you throw a party, it'll be even sweeter!" Taking the bowl to the back and dumping the contents he was practically bouncing. "Do we wash by hand or use a dishwasher?"

"Actually, I just got a dishwasher last month!" She said, pleased with her recent purchase. "The store gets so busy that washing them myself takes far too long." She gathered up some dished herself, piling plates into her hooves and placing them on her back. Hands would so so helpful sometimes...
She led the youngster into the kitchen, where the shiny metal dishwasher sat underneath the counter. She slid the dished from her back to the counter, opening up the washer.
"Why don't you load this, and I'll refresh the mop water." Candy suggested, going back into the store. Upon seeing the mess again, she sighed with a smile.
At least she had some help.
