Alma smiled at Chal, getting more comfortable with him as he seemed to be relaxing at least a little bit. Closeness just fit the type of dance. Oh did she love to dance.

Beaming the teen informed him, "Thank you! I love dancing! Usually its with a broom when I should be sweeping." With an easy laugh she adds, "I am really enjoying getting to dance with someone. You may be a might stiff but really good yourself." This party was the best place she'd ever really been to, a real event with dancing and food. The games plus she got her first date!

Chal laughed with Alma as she talked about dancing with a broom. Stiff? Chal cleared his throat and tried to loosen up his posture a little bit. It was a word that everyone else would probably use to describe him as well. Maybe it was a little bit true. She must have just been saying he was good to be nice, because stiff and good dancing just didn't seem to make sense in his mind.

"Stiff makes me sound like a broomstick." Chal joked, although his voice sounded somewhat serious.

The song was beginning to come to an end, to Chal's dismay. He was only just starting to get the hang of it.

Alma laughed, he was right about the characterizations she used. It wasn't intentional but it sorta fit. For a few seconds, she went back to the kitchen with the broomstick. She could picture herself dancing acrossed the floor with the ridged partner in her grasp. The bristles had movement enough the the handle did not.

With a twinkle in her eye she told him, "Ah but a broomstick can't laugh, give a very handsome smile and feel more free." At least, she hoped he was getting at least a little bit more comfortable with her. "Once again the poor broom will be upstaged." For just a moment she sounded like she was lamenting, thought the tone would work so much better if she wasn't giving a big toothy grin. The following little giggle didn't help her case either.

Chal smiled, maybe he was a little better than a broomstick, but he would have to up his game if he was really going to upstage the broomstick.

The teenager attempted to twirl his date as he held his arm up and pulled her with it and then spun her back so they weren't all tangled up.

Maybe that would earn him some points.

Alma went with the twirl eagerly, giggling as she spun. Lifting up one leg and tucking it under her small frame, the nymph twirled to his direction. Kicking her left leg out she stopped the twirl smiling at him. Stepping up again she placed her hands back on his own shoulders.

The music ended but the teen hardly paid attention. Between the soft grass between her toes and the stars above, all she cared about was enjoying the dance. He was certainly starting to loosen up now, maybe even having fun.

The food was forgotten at her feet until she nearly knocked her plate over, that deserved a small nudge away with a foot.

Chal smiled a lopsided grin as she went with his twirl and even embellished it with a little leg kick. Wow, she really was good at this. She certainly wasn't a broomstick. She looked like she was having fun, and that was the important thing to him.

Even if they never saw each other again, he was setting the standard for her future dates.

"Oh, careful." He warned her as they started to dance too close to the plates.

Glancing down a moment at the plates, the teen got an idea. Letting go of Chal's shoulders she twirled her own self out, but kept one hand on one of the arms that was on her shoulder. When her hand met his, she held on and gave a small tug to encourage him to move her way, away from the plates.

Her smile faltered a small bit, sounded almost like a rumbling from the party they had left. Eyebrow cocked in confusion she wondered just what the adults were doing. Had to be a normal part of the party and she turned her eyes back to her date not at all worried about the sounds. Maybe the party was over?

Chal narrowed his eyes thoughtfully as Alma took over the lead for their dance. The music had seemed to halt abruptly soon after though. His arms dropped from her as he looked in the direction they had come from. It almost sounded like... "A storm?" Chal said with a tilt of his head as he glanced back over at his dance partner. That seemed unusual to him, he was more worried about the sounds. At least one of his brothers was still at that party, he was sure.

Alma stepped up to stand by his side looking towards the building that held the party. "The sky doesn't look like it wants to storm, might have one off some ways though.." Her voice trailed off as she kept looking. With little experience with parties of this nature, she had nothing much to go on.

"Is it normal to leave a party like that?" The more she stopped to listen the more something just didn't feel right. Looking to Chal, she depended on him to tell her if it was normal or possibly not safe.

Chal looked up at the sky again, the stars still clear and beautiful. She was right, the sound didn't seem to make sense at all.

As it was, it seemed like there dancing was certainly over, with no more music to dance to. Chal shrugged his shoulders and shook his head slowly. He had no idea what was normal as far as that sort of thing went.

"I'm not sure..." he responded as he glanced over at the teenager standing by his side. Chal was wishing he hadn't brought it up, it had seemed to put a damper on their mood and things were just starting to get good by any standard, the boy wasn't sure how to recover.

There was a lot of commotion, but it didn't sound like anyone yelled for help, must be normal. With a shrug of her own shoulders, the teen lived a hand to brush her hair back. One section of her deep red locks went behind her ear as she looked over and upwards to Chal, "Well they can't kick us out if we are already outside." If anything was bad, someone would say something, surely. Therefore this had to be normal adult party stuff. Next one she went to, hopefully she would be grown up and could really experience everything.

Without the weird gender change though. Hopefully that was optional.

Chal smiled and nodded his head enthusiastically. "Yup!"

He moved back towards the plates that, just a moment ago, they had been kicking out of their way. Maybe they could just try to relax and eat now? That sounded so silly in his head, but it was all he had to offer. "So... do you live near here?" Chal hoped that didn't sound too creepy.

Chal sat down on the grass near his plate and ate a few more things before leaning back to lie down and look at the stars.

Alma grinned, so the night wasn't over yet! Following his lead she went back to her own plate and sat next to her date. Running one hand along the soft grass she cast her eyes on the ground. Reaching out for her plate, she looked back to Chal, "I live on the west bank of the big lake, a house right near it with Tora-momma."

Retrieving the plate she placed in her lap and started picking out choices pieces of chocolate. "What about you? You live with your siblings and parents?" The word parents went up a few notes with some uncertainty in her tone. She had never had parents herself, she knew of her father yet had never met him.

Chal closed his eyes, trying to think of the area she was describing to him. He was fairly certain he had passed this big lake on the way here.

As he opened his eyes he answered her. "Yeah... mom, dad, two brothers. It's a bit of a full cave." Chal said with a small laugh. "Its in Loka Nei forest... even further west than your lake I think..." He should probably walk her home when this was all over then... since she was on the way. That would be the right thing to do.

Cave got her attention right away, head popping up from its position resting on her forearms crossed over her knees. She remembered her friend Ela, one that she knew was real-real. "You live in a cave? My friend does too, says it makes her awesome." Maybe it did, did that by extension make Chal awesome?

One idea flowed into another as she asked, "What is it like to have siblings? Its always been or Tora-momma, before that it was either Momma and Grannie. I have never had a sibling." Tora-momma played with her way more then her other momma had. Still, sometimes it was lonely, without others her own age to play with. That was the best thing about the party so far, that and her first date ever. Dancing with the broom will never be the same.
