Dive visited the beach as often as he found himself in the area. He was not, perhaps, a welcome visitor for often he only came to fish and sing with Shanty. He was not made for the Tidewalker life and therefore was of no use to them, but he did his best not to overstay what little welcome he was afforded. His children were not the most receptive to his affections and he understood, in some way of his, their struggle on their beach and could not begrudge them for this struggled began with him. He did love them still and this particular visit, he brought gifts for them.
He brought eagles for Birdsong and Sure to help them in their work for they had minds and spirits shaped by harshness. He knew that only a gift of practicality would be accepted. A crane for Crosswinds, a calm companion for the mediator.And a songbird for Discord, a faithful friend with a song to calm the turmoil.And finally an owlcat for Castaway because he is different. There is a slyness to this son, a cruelty even and a owlcat will be his slinking companion.And for Shanty, he brought only himself for he would be her songbird.

Castaway prances around the Owlcat, kicking little showers of sand at the beast until its back arches upwards and beak opens in an angry hiss. He only laughs and lifts his head to the sky, where Freefall the eagle is eyeing the other gifts as potential meals or rivals. "I suppose I’ll keep it." Amorpheous Oh gosh, Morphy. <333 I had to drop in a small response because these pets are all so beautiful and Castaway isn't as appreciative as he should be, but I am. This is such a stunning Owlcat, thank you!

He had seen the procession coming, and it had not been a welcome sight. The head of it was never a welcome sight. A dragging reminder. He had seen the procession, and he had seen the heights. The two that circled - and the one. And he knew what would be meant and what was coming. He knew, but he did not know the meaning of his beating heart. His heart was stone and still it beat so. It was not welcome.
"Father," he said, when the procession arrived, as was customary. Father, he said, and nothing more. He did not look up. He would not. He knew what was meant, but he would not make it come. Father, he said, and turned to leave - but he did not stay it when it followed.
Stone.
...An effect totally ruined as his MOTHER barrelled past him, sending buck, bird and all into a kicking, flapping mess in the sand, "DIVE!!!"
Her voice rang loud as always, her laugh as lusty. She kicked up fine clouds as she danced about their visitor, "My, my, why, birds of a feather do flock together, after all!"
Sure really hated his mother.Amorpheous QAQ!!! MORPHYYYYYYYY Aaahh aah I always meant to get Sure an eagle - AND YOU'VE GONE AND GOTTEN HIS EAGLE. And it's magnificent! All of these birds (and CAT) are so beautiful and so recognisable - and seeing Dive with them all around him is so amazing, like having his kids all around him, aaahh! Oh gosh thank you so much, thank you thank you, and Sure actually really loves this eagle, he'll just never articulate that. BUT I WILL. I LOVE. And I love that you have this nifty little RP set-up for it, so lovely! THANK YOU, MORPHY!!!

Although their father visited when he could, it was certainly an unusual occurrence for the whole family to gather to meet him like this -- and even rarer for him to bring such extravagant gifts. Although she had followed quietly at the back of the group and said nothing on their way over, when she saw the crane Crosswinds' eyes lit up. "Oh father," she said, bending down to touch the tip of her salty nose to the bird's extended beak and then beaming up at him. "Thank you so much." Amorpheous AHH omg morphy they're so beautiful I am cry ;A; thank youuuuu <3<3<3 Crosswinds will treasure her crane sooo much! (Does the family know about Birdsong's babbies yet? xDD)
