 Blushing Bride loved libraries. Such a treasure-trove of ideas and inspiration! Having been practically born knowing what she wanted to do in life, Blush loved to go into libraries and pore over books and magazines -- all the latest designs, all those lovely ideas to incorporate into parties!
But did they have to look so... well... drab?
Hm... today wasn't the best day, Blush thought as she slowly trotted through the stacks. What did she want to look through? What did she want to spend her hours absorbed in? Window decorations? No...
Oh! A flash of pink caught Blush's eye. She blinked, then her eyes widened.
Was that Candy Dandy? That gorgeous mare from the candy shop? Ugh, she was so perfectly coordinated and lovely... what a beauty she'd look walking down the aisle, wouldn't she?
A faint, dreamy blush spread over Blushing Bride's cheeks at the image.

Candy found the library to be overall, not the best place to spend an afternoon. She would rather not inhale the dust that seemed to flow from the older books. No, she would rather be in her kitchen, or outside enjoying the day.
But alas! The little colt she had hired to help her with the shop had accidentally thrown away her last six months of Desserts Monthly! There had been a couple of designs she had wanted to incorporate into a client's basket! The colt did feel bad, and Candy Dandy hadn't felt angry for long. After all, he was just trying to help!
She knew the library carried them, so it was off to the large, dusty building. When Blushing Bride found her, she was copying the pages with the recipes on them with a copy machine.Atmadja I'm sorry I spaced on this!

Blushing Bride took no time. She sidled up quickly to a rack of books, pretending to look through them, her eyes every so often flitting back toward Candy Dandy. Would it be alright to strike up a conversation with the beautiful mare? Would she find it annoying?
OH, but wouldn't she just look MARVELOUS in a big Cinderella-style dress... like a little white and pink confection going up the aisle! Oh, yes, she could have a long train but a short veil, accentuating her lovely curls... It would be so very gorgeous, Blush could see it now.
The thought made her sigh audibly, her seafoam-colored eyes dreamy and round.
Instantly, she snapped back into reality. What was she mooning about!? She didn't even know if Candy had a very special somephony!
"Ahem...." she said delicately, taking a step closer to the mare. She needed to be polite! This wasn't just ANYONE, after all! "Oh, hello, are you not Ms. Candy Dandy?"

Candy hadn't noticed the little filly and her staring until she heard a quiet sound, like a dove. She looked down from her book copying and spied a lovely little filly with a purple mane. And she already had her cutie mark! When she spoke, her voice was soft and gentle.
"That's me!" she said, bringing her front hooves down from the table to stand in front of Blushing Bride. "I don't think we have ever met. Since you know my name, how about I know yours? And what can I do for ya?" Foals held a special place in the pink maned mare's heart. They were so innocent and fun!

With a slow smile, Blush took another step forward. She forced herself to keep to the conversation at hand, pushing her imagination away -- (how could she ask if there was an engagement in the near future? How she longed to be involved!) -- and refocusing.
"Yes, I've been to your candy store before! You really have the loveliest place I've ever seen. So well-decorated and with such tasty food. I am Blushing Bride, and I'm so sorry to be so forward, but I couldn't help but come over when I saw you." Her gaze fairly twinkled.

Candy's eyes sparkled. "Oh you have? Well then I'm sorry I didn't remember your name!" She tried her hardest to keep track of everyphony that came into the store. But sometimes it got a little hectic, so I was only natural that she would miss a face or two. "Thank you! I tried my best to make the place seem friendly!"
She sounded like a fan or something, the way that she was looking at Candy that way. Candy Dandy chuckled with the teeniest bit of nerves. Was there perhaps a question that Blushing Bride had for her?
"So I see you've already gotten your cutie mark. May I ask what your talent is?"

A blush spread over Blush's face as she preened visibly when Candy asked about her cutie mark. She was immensely proud of her achievement, knowing what she wanted to do so early. Immediately, however, she checked herself. KNOWING what she wanted to do and knowing HOW to do it were two very different things. Even if her mind was made up.
"Oh, thank you so much for noticing. They're wedding bells -- I just adore weddings and soirees and I hope that one day I can plan them for other people." The blush reddened, turning more embarrassed than dreamy. "Although, I... have to admit, I've never done it before. I just know that I want to. And I can't stop thinking about it when I meet, well, beautiful phonies. I just want to be able to make their days so special one day! It's just -- I'm so small, you know, so it's still mostly in my head."

Ah a wedding planner! How wonderful! Candy was envious that this youngin' knew what she wanted to do at such an early age. It took Candy some time to find her purpose in life. She longed to ask her how she managed to find her life goal to early, but instead she continued to listen to Blush.
Her smile was knowing when the filly expressed her novice standing. "Everyone has to start from square one. I certainly didn't find my talent and immediately knew what fruits went together, or what flowers make the best color palette. In fact, I'm still learning those things as I go! That's why I am here actually."
"The fact that you already feel so passionate about something means that you will be very good at what you do when you grow up. It gives you a little extra time to practice." she winked, and giggled.
Weddings...she had created baskets for a couple, but had yet to have her own.

"Really?" Blush asked, her head inclining forward somewhat as Candy Dandy spoke. She always just assumed that knowing what she wanted to do would somehow blossom into a capability to do it when she got to be Old Enough, and it was actually encouraging to know that it took practice and tinkering.
"And you're so very good at what you do! I've seen some of your arrangements and your candies... they're so lovely!" gushed Blushing Bride. She paused, lest she come off too eager, and composed herself. "I'm so sorry to ask this, but... do you think you could tell me how you, you know, learn? Get inspired?"

Candy blushed, saying "Oh well thank you! You're too kind." When Blush asked her how she learned, Candy pondered. That was a complicated question.
She found the nearest chair and sat down, tapping her hooves together. "Well, there are a lot parts to learning a trade. First, your muscles have to get used to the movements required. Like someone who sews has to get used to the feeling of pulling the needle through the thread..."
She tried to gather her thoughts better. It sounded like she was rambling.
"Second, you gotta study. I know it's boring and all that, but I wouldn't know color theory like I do if I hadn't read a few books on it. And I had to read a LOT of magazines to find the right temperatures with sugar, and chocolate, and which foods can be left out, and which need to be refrigerated."
She sounded like a schoolteacher! Candy stopped tapping her hooves together and smiled.
"But most of all, you gotta practice! I dunno how many times I messed up the sugar when I was trying to make flowers, or put some things together and found out that they looked horrendous together. As for inspiration, I guess it comes from the customers' needs, and from the food themselves. For mindblock, there is always something to read to get ideas."
She inhaled, confident that she had answered the filly's questions to an extent. It was difficult to talk about anything other than her personal experience; everyone learned at a different rate and through different methods.

Blush listened to all of Candy's words with rapt attention. She wished she had something to take notes on! She couldn't believe the other's kindness. They had never met before ten minutes ago and she was giving her such good advice to take with her into the future! Blush made up her mind then and there that when she was Old Enough and had a successful business of her own, she would take after Candy and help some other poor foal trying to find their own way around.
"That's -- oh, that's really helpful! Color theory books, I'll get some for sure. And, oh, I guess I'd need some on cakes and on dresses... what a good idea!" Blush could feel the excitement tightening her little chest. "You don't understand how lovely it is of you to help me like this. I -- I promise, if I'm good enough, I'll do a wedding or a party for you one day! Pro bono! It would really be my honor."

Oh how she wished she could take a picture! Her face was just too adorable in this moment, full of excitement and happiness.
"I bet you can find all of those kinds of books here. I did way back when." She could practically see Blushing Bride's mind going a mile a minute. Candy laughed.
"Well I'll have to take you up on that! Who knows what kind of party it will be, but I'll remember! Though you won't have to provide the sweets; I'll have that covered!"
"Actually, I'm done with this magazine." Candy said suddenly, holding up the issue she had just finished copying. "It's got an article on DIY decorations. And I happen to know where there might be a magazine or two about sewing and wedding dresses! Hold on a moment." She gave Blush the magazine her was holding and hopped off of the chair, walking back to the magazine section of the library.
When she returned, there were three more on her back. She slid them onto the ground, and said "Here they are! There's even one that has a special on cakes!" Candy wanted to help Blush; the little thing made her so happy with her excitement!Atmadja So is Blush! She is so sweet!

The expression that Blush held on her face was one of utter delight. She could not have felt more rapturous in that moment had the stallion of her dreams walked in at that moment and proposed marriage to her on the spot. Even if he'd done so with a diamond the size of a boulder! This was so much better. This was going to help her for the rest of her life!
"You don't have to--" Blush began as Candy offered her the magazine, but her eyes went wide as saucers and her dreamy blush spread over her cheeks as she saw the article Candy mentioned. Soon, she was poring over the issue, hungrily devouring the words as Candy Dandy stepped away. When she came back, it was all Blush could do to keep herself from hugging the mare. Decorum, after all, had to come before excitement.
"You're amazing!" she breathed instead. "You really are! Thank you so much!"

Blush looked like she was going to explode! Candy loved when she found another with enthusiasm to spare. Reminded her of when she was young. All the ambition, and the wrong body size to take advantage of it. "It's no trouble at all! Helping out others is a good habit to get into!"
Soon she and Blush both were diving into the magazines. Candy pointed out the wedding cakes she thought were particularly lovely and imagining what flavors would work best with those designs.
"What do you think of these centerpieces?" she asked, pointing at a page in one magazine. They were made from carved out small pumpkins, and were bursting with orange, yellow and red flowers, as well as autumn colored leaves.

"Oh! I love it!" gushed Blush, putting one hoof to her cheek. Her eyes were shining and she seemed like she might actually begin to sparkle as she spoke. "I would love to design an autumn wedding -- so many colors and ideas and wonderful things! Oh... Candy, how can I repay you for how kind you've been, talking to me and showing me all of this? I -- I promise, one day I really will!"
