lolll lucky. Never once in high school did we get a snow day, even when all the other schools AND the public transit system shut down.
LAME I think one of the major concerns for my school is that a lot of kids walk, and it's not a public school so some kids live far(ish) away. I'm pretty surprised they called it so early, really. It wasn't icy at all when they made the decision.

emo
they did the same thing here, they had a bunch of school closings this morning before it even started /doing/ anything. they did the same thing a lot last winter and it felt like 9 times out of 10 absolutely nothing happened
also some of the closing decisions are hilariously baffling
like
"COLLEGE CLOSED. FINALS POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEK."
yet.. they didn't postpone the graduation ceremonies because idk, it's not safe enough to go to your finals, but it's totally safe enough to make it to graduation? IDK IDK

As stupid as it sounds, there would be a coup staged if graduation were cancelled. Announcements have been purchased with the dates, gowns have been rented (normally they are rented not purchased) for that date, family and friends have booked hotel rooms for that date which is a major money maker for the local economy.
Can't cancel graduation. Too much money would be lost and there would be no time to reprint announcements.
It's the whole reason why, when my teachers went on strike, the seniors got done on time and NO ONE else did. Hehehehe. I was a senior. ******** the underclassmen.
lmao every single school in this entire part of the state was closed and the roads and walkways were full of ice and the university stayed open. Without salting or sanding anything. neutral
