[PRP] A Bellyful of Love (Nalani & Izefiah)

Nalani had awoken, and had gone to look at her reflection again that morning, before she had eaten, or taken a drink. Not out of any kind of vanity was this early check on how she looked; what she was doing was checking to see if she looked any bigger around her belly than she had the previous day.

'Oh..oh!' she exclaimed. Maybe she was just seeing things in her excitement, but she was sure..there was some rounding there she was certain! She danced nervously back and forth on shaking hooves as that meant she could tell Izefiah. When she had felt that something was wrong..well, different about how she felt in herself, she had spoken in private with her mother Nivriti. Her mother had asked a few questions (Nalani had blushed as she answered), and had then said that it was early days but that her daughter was likely pregnant.

Nalani had been speechless at that little revelation. Overwhelmed with her many feelings; joy, panic, excitement, nervousness, Nivriti had calmed her down as much as possible and then cautioned her not to say anything to her beloved Izefiah until it was beyond a certainty that Nalani was indeed pregnant. Nalani had been bursting to say something to Izefiah ever since but she also understood it was better to be certain.. especially as they hadn't really properly discussed having children and this was..well a pleasant surprise.

After rushing to her mother, and getting her assent that it was probably time to inform Izefiah, she went searching for him, her heart feeling as though it had jumped in her throat as she thought of how to tell him.

In the rare moments that Izefiah wasn't with Nalani, he spent his time in a small cave he had found not far from Nalani's childhood home. It reminded him of the cave that he had called home as a child himself, but had the added bonus of being no where near his father. Since their falling out, he still had yet to see Auster and he was quite content with that. Still, the cave was comforting and just familiar enough to feel like home.

Inside the cave, Izefiah was testing the waters to see how he felt not wearing his mask. Since he'd first taken it off for Nalani he hadn't been comfortable enough to go around without it all the time, but he did find himself not so dependent upon it as he had once been, a fact that surprised no one as much as it surprised himself. He'd begun to wear it less when he was just around Nalani and perhaps someday he would even work up to not needing to wear it at all.
