Kaiju Blue scowled at the paper in front of him. Normally, he was extremely proud of his art projects, and the drawing he'd made last week had been no exception. The theme had been "Someone You Admire," and he'd drawn one of his many idols, Buck Yeager, as the coolest knight EVER. The pegasus pilot had been drawn as a mechanical knight, a jousting lance attached to his steel barding as he soared through the sky. It was a carefully-done line drawing done in ink- so why was there a picture of a clown in front of him?
Well, maybe not a clown. Kaiju Blue wasn't sure who the performer was or what he did. The art in front of him was done in pastels- those brightly colored soft waxy crayons that were bold and bright. The portrait in question was of a pink stallion dressed in an outlandish costume, with a giant cape flaring behind him. He was heavily made up; perhaps he was a magician? Whoever he was, the fact remained that this wasn't Blue's art.
Even though, as he discovered when he turned the paper over, it said "Blue" in big letters.
Huh.
He looked around the room; who could this possibly belong to? He poked the girl next to him. "Hey, Taters," he said to the filly who was making another one of her inexhaustible pictures of characters from The Hobbit. "You know who this is?"
But the other pegasus only shrugged. Kaiju Blue decided that his only recourse was to stand up and wander around the room until he figured out who the heck had drawn this bizarre-looking character- and, more importantly, to figure out who had his drawing.

Blue was rightly confused when the teacher handed back their art projects. His had been a masterful piece dedicated to the most amazing person he knew other than his parents. He had drawn his grandfather TACO, during a brilliant performance his father had taken him to. Blue was an old school musician, not like the fancy electronics his father and siblings used. While he did play the electric guitar he preferred the old fashion way of making music, playing until it hurt and you were dog tired.
Instead he had some...sort of....flying knight? With a spear. What was this? He quickly looked on the back to check that his name was there, sure enough there it was "Blue" written. But....it didn't look like his handwriting. He practiced his signature all the time for when he was a musical legend just like his grandfather. Well he had to find out where his project was so he started looking around.
As he moved to get down from his seat he saw another colt wandering around with a similar searching gaze. He was a dark Pegasus with neon blue striping, he imagined it would look pretty good in his dad's club. But given his look he imagined this might be the holder of his lost artwork. Trotting up with the knight's picture he smiled.
"Hey little dark daddyo, I think we've been given the wrong pictures."

Blue nodded, staring at the other colt, extremely relieved. He didn't want to say "Is this your drawing of a magician GIVE ME BACK MY ROBOT." Truth be told, now that he wasn't freaking out, the drawing was actually pretty good. "I think we have!" he said instead. "It's kinda weird, though- I mean, my name's on the back. I thought the art teacher was looking. And knew our names. He looked the black-maned fellow up and down. Even though the stripe on his back was green, he was mostly blue- and that, perhaps, was where the confusion came in. Blue's blue was the blue in his mane and on his hooves and in his eyes. But this guy was also blue, and color names being as popular as they were in Phonyland...
"So... let me guess. You're Blue, too?" he said with a chuckle.

Blue smiled and nodded, holding up the strange picture he had received. He was glad the other colt was not upset or yelling at him for having his picture. Some colts were a little possessive of their artwork and it made for shouting matches that Blue did not want to be involved in. "No worries little daddy, nothing to get all shook up over," he spoke as he smoothed back his midnight hair, "Uh huh, that's right. My full name is Blue Suede Horseshoes, so Blue for short."
He exchanged the picture for his own, smiling down as he saw his brilliant creation; then he looked back to the darker colt. "So little daddy who is that in your drawing? Mine is my grandfather, one of the greatest performers in all the world; TACO! I'm gonna be a singer like him one day," he nodded sagely. He could already see himself up on stage, playing his guitar while dancing and singing.

Any phony would have had to be at least a little impressed by this. TACO was something of a local legend, and even though Kaiju Blue was a little young to know his whole discography, he still sang enough karaoke to know the standbys- plus, he was basically the king of Phonyland's rock station. "Dang, that's actually super cool," he said. "I've listened to a bunch of his songs on the radio, but I didn't know what he looked like. My guy's a little more- abstract, I guess. His name's Buck Yeager. He's a pilot, but I wanted to draw him how I see him, like a knight in shining armor. He's broken a lot of speed records, and he just kinda seems, well, larger than life." He looked back down at the two drawings and laughed. "Y'know- it really is kind of funny, getting us mixed up. I mean, you've got his hair. And it's kind of a purpley-blue, where I'm just purple and blue- Kaiju Blue, that is. That's my name."

"Nice ta meetcha, Blue," he grinned at the other. Looking down at the drawing the other Blue made he could see why it would be his hero. Given the colt was a Pegasus it was no surprise someone who broke speed records would be a phony to look up to. He looked between their two drawings then....suddenly got the giggles.
"I just had the funniest thought," he said through giggles, "What if our heros traded places like our art got mixed up? I think granddaddy once said something about flying but he called it the Mile High Club. But still!" he continued to giggle.

Kaiju Blue laughed, a little snorting chuckle. "That'd be pretty funny! Gosh, I don't think pilots can sing- and I'm pretty sure that capes and planes don't always mix." He was glad that this was an honest mistake that they could laugh over and not a case of art theft. Mistakes you could laugh over hardly counted as mistakes, really! "You're a fun fella, Blue. Let me know if you ever want to hang out sometime. Maybe I could meet your hero grandpa and ask him about that Mile High Club- he might know if my hero was a member, too! How funny would that be if they were both members of the same club?"

Blue Suede was also quite happy the other phony was laughing with him. No one was made when the mix up was actually funny. It seemed to him laughter really did help smooth over most situations. So long as it was honest laughter and not at someone else's expense. "Totally my man, Grandpa is out on Tour right now so I'll ask him when he gets back!"
The colt smiled, glad to have a new friend. He would have to ask Ms. Glory if he could switch seats so he and Blue could sit next to each other.Scaramouche Fandango I think this one is done unless you want to make one last remark ^_^

The little pegasus smiled, so relieved that this had gone well. It was important to not take little mistakes too seriously and to laugh when the universe was just cosmically weird. A little mistake could ruin your day if you let it, but if you laughed at it instead, you could turn it around and let it make your day even better!
