 Shadowed Moon blinks slowly, the thicket surrounded clearing is oddly dark and strangely familiar. Almost like he's been here before. Opening his eyes, and looking around at the dawn-cloaked ground, he feels a comforting presence by his side. His familiar, a furby, is nudging his side harder and harder with each pass, as though to get him up. Sighing a bit, he rises, still confused. He doesn't remember going to sleep here, but that is the least weird. Why does this place seem so familiar? The buck paws the ground, then pauses. It's wet beneath his feet. Looking at the ground, he steps back in surprise. Why is this clearing covered in blood!
It is about this point he remembers where he's seen this clearing. It's the clearing he first met Nightmare-of-Roses in! The blood, almost reminding him of the roses, is splattered not only on the ground, but all over the bushes themselves. It's relatively fresh, and is still dripping from the leaves. He gags a bit, not used to this much blood. What creature could leave this much blood behind? He almost regrets this thought as soon as it comes to him. This causes the buck to wonder, is it kin or creature? He must find out. Whatever happened here, whatever or whoever was hurt, they could still be alive. He turns to leave, only to find every exit blocked. How will he find the victim? Ignoring that, how is he going to escape?--- ((I forgot to roll on one of my posts on this page, and deleted it so I could actually roll. That's why there are only 14 posts on page 1. I didn't delete a roll or anything. It was the lack of roll I wanted to remedy.))

OOC Footnote Current HP: 73 Chosen familiar: Furby Clues acquired: 1 Section notes: The way is blocked. Will he make it through? No, sadly, he only manages to break free of a chunk of vine, but dislodges a clue! What will it be?
He only manages to struggle through a small part, breaking free of the original chuck of vine blocking his way. It tears at his backside, causing his blood to join that he follows. However, Shadowed Moon is distracted from his pain by a patch of fur that dislodges itself from the vines in front of him as he does the same from those behind him. Floating down in lands near his head. He examines it, leaning down as best he can. It's white, and appears to have been ripped from a creature quite recently. There is still fresh blood on it. Once more, he has to repress a gag. He now knows the creature is white, but it only narrows down his search to creatures with fur. Whether is is a kin or not is still a mystery.

The buck grunts as his flesh is torn once again the the thorns, looking down at his hoof, he notices his blood dripping onto what appears to be drag marks. It appears the creature, whatever is is, was dragged from the clearing.

Obviously, such dexterous tasks are not his strong suit, but his slow struggle brings to light many more clues.
Deciding it is either that or starve to death, the buck breaks free, the a few of the thorns ripping at him. The small bits of pain are beginning to get annoying, but as he kneels for a quick rest, he discovered what appears to be the small whole the creature was dragged through. It is no larger then a foal! This does narrow down his search, but makes him even more depressed. If it is a kin, it's only a child!

Still no such luck, but once again, a clue!
Rubbing his face with his leg, he notices what looks like more fur. It seems the creature was stuck in the thorns, same as he. Whatever was dragging it must have pulled hard, as it left quite a bit of fur behind. The creature being mostly white seems likely, but the buck cannot stand to look at this hunk of fluff for much longer. He turns to continue.

He glances back, he can see where he broke through, and the opening he managed to escape from. At least if he wishes to return, the way will not be nearly as hard. Looking forward, he glances at the ground. No clues to the identity of the one he chases, but the blood leads him onward.

And feels something rub against his leg. He kicks at the creature, and receives in return a bite to his leg. It hurts much worse the then thorns, and trails blood in the water. But he now sees his opponent. A pike. It is quite large, and will be to much trouble to get around. He has little choice but to attack it again.

He kicks, hoping to kill it, but his foot only clips the fishes tail. It barely flinches, and attacks his hoof again. The wound begins to bleed anew, and the red water is beginning to cloud the section of river he is standing in.

A good solid kick for 4 damage! The fish has only 1HP left.
Seems luck is on his side, he can feel the pike good and solid as he kicks it. It seems greatly damaged, but managed to grab his foot as it flew into the air. It remains latched to his foot, seemingly in an act of desperation. He doubts it will last another attacked, but he must detach it from his leg.

A good solid kick for 4 damage! The fish has only 1HP left. The fish has only 1HP, the next attack should finish it off. With 2 damage, the fish dies.
While this is difficult, he manages to crunch the fish, breaking if off of his leg. This hurts a bit, but now he can finally leave the river. Walking to the other shore, he looks back, seeing the pike floating dead in the water.

He's doing rather well, all things considered. His foot is hindering him, but he hasn't slipped at all. A good sign. Maybe things are looking up? He manages to get up a fourth of the cliff, if things keep going like this, he should be up in no time. He smiles, and continues upwards.

...a rabbit! A dead rabbit lies half buried in the rocks. It's back is missing quite a bit of fur, probably from when it was stuck in the vines. The pool of blood underneath is is quite small, probably because most of it is back in the clearing. He's found the victim, but what killed this rabbit? And why did it not eat it?

He sighs, well at least his leg will be no more injured then before. His lost progress almost matches how far he climbed, but that can easily be regained. He continues upward, hoping to encounter no more creatures looking to take a bite out of him.

He slides backwards 3 feet. 18 feet left. 18 feet to go. He manages to make it five feet. 13 feet left!
He's happy to have made it part way up without trouble. He's almost half way up the slope, maybe he'll be able to finish soon. He keeps an eye on the ground in front of him, as he doesn't with to stumble upon another unhappy resident of the hillside due to an careless eye.
