She was running. Over and over again without ever getting tired. Her limbs didn’t ache and Minoes hadn’t a clue of where she was running to. The scenery was of the Rougelands. Bare and forgotten the lands were. It was hot too. But Minoes didn’t sweat. She felt calm and collected as she dashed through the dry lands. This was her dream. A simple, dull dream but it was so enticing to the young female. Every day for more than a week it was the same dream. And every time she thought she had reached her destination, the dream would start all over again or she would wake up.

“Hrm,” she muttered as she began to awaken. The dream was over. The lucid colors of her dream faded as she opened her eyes. What would a dream of her running through the desolate lands mean? Minoes hadn’t a clue. It was probably something silly. But she was still curious. Curious enough to want to ask Faraji about the meaning. But she was afraid that he would say that she should go on a vision quest. No way!

Faraji. She groaned as she lifted her head. Oh how she wished that he was a dream and one to be quickly forgotten. The vision quest…A heavy sigh escaped from her vocals as she dipped her head down again. Maybe he had forgotten or with her luck, maybe he left! Or maybe he was still asleep and hadn’t seen her awaken. Minoes would do well with a couple more minutes or even an hour of sleep. She always did best when she got a full night’s rest, which unfortunately didn’t happen because of last night’s storm. She yawned, licking her lips as she closed her eyes and snuggled up. The stone underneath her had become quite warm and comfortable.

His night was dreamless.

Due to the unfamiliarity of the Roguelands, Faraji had quite a fitful night. The slightest noise jarred him from his shallow sleep, waking him momentarily as he investigated the noise with his eyes. Once he had assured himself it was no danger, that it was simply a bug buzzing cross his ear or a field mouse rousing from their own restless sleep, he would attempt to get more shut-eye. He never had the chance to slip in too deeply; he hadn't dreamed or slept so soundly since... Well, since he first took his oath to protect his sisters. His distrust of others never allowed him to become completely vulnerable.

So, when he heard Minoes rousing from her own rest, he opened his eyes, not quite moving besides that. The burrow was very dimly lit, the sun lightening the sky but not quite peeking over the horizon yet. He had hoped she was the type to not dillydally and put things off; obviously, he was wrong.

Lifting his head, he stared at her tiredly as she settled in to sleep some more. He, himself, could deal with a few more minutes of rest. However... Fighting the terrible urge to sigh in reluctance, he slowly got to his feet, stretching his legs subtly. Padding over to her, blue eyes stared down at his temporary companion, observing. This is who he was going to spend his journey with. Eyes narrowing just a fraction, he lifted a paw and nudged her. "Wake up," he ordered before moving away, heading towards the entrance to the burrow.

Deciding that food was needed, he glanced back at Minoes. "We'll leave as soon as the sun shows on the horizon... be prepared,"

Minoes breathed in as she rolled onto her side. She blinked a couple times as she looked at Faraji, her paws making a ‘thud’ nosie as they hit the slab of rock. Did he really just command her to get up? She cocked an eyebrow as she looked at him. Irritated and grinding her teeth as she stood up. After all she had done for him—showed him hospitality and now he’s telling her what to do. Rude! Besides he did ask for her help on this pathetic journey. And what did he mean by saying she should prepare? It’s not like she was planning on bringing anything with her. What would she need? She huffed a heavy sigh as she walked towards the entrance of the little den. “Well the sun will be up soon enough. Might as well find something to eat and perhaps get a drink. Water sources can be scarce in the Rougelands if you don’t know where to go,” she told him. Especially during the dry seasons was it rare to come across a deep watering hole. Most of the rivers were dry now and only small, shallow ponds could be found here and there. “How’d you sleep?” she asked though her voice didn’t sound all that concerned and in fact, Minoes wasn’t. She could care less how he slept after he just ordered her to get up. She padded out of the den and crawled her way out from underneath the thicket. The sun was now starting to rise over the distant mountains. Great, she thought to herself. He’s going to make us wander around the Rougelands during the hottest part of the day, she sighed to herself. She glanced back of her shoulder. At least he did say that he wouldn’t be all that talkative during the journey. That was a plus.

His eyes slightly widened at the blatant irritation, eyeing the rock that was hit. However, Faraji made no comment as the female did exactly what he demanded. Appraising the reluctant obedience for a moment, he walked out of the entrance, ears perking up as she began speaking.

He was tempted to allow a frown teased his expression over her words. Lack of water source? He thought for a moment, considering the rarity he's seen along the way, before mentally agreeing; if she stated water was scarce, then he wouldn't think otherwise. It was always better to play safer. And, where there was lack of water, there was lack of other resources.

Stepping out completely, he waited by the entrance for a moment, waiting for her to emerge, before responding. He didn't understand why she asked such a pointless question; from her tone, he was quite sure she didn't even care. "Well enough," he responded shortly, moving to follow her. His ears flickered around, before moving in the direction of the pond from the day before. "Enough chitchat."
