Ian supposed he should be more awed at the sun, but all things considered he just really was entirely comfortable either way. He had rather liked the fog (the fog hid things relatively well, after all), but the sun was nice too, and he was mostly indifferent to the change in weather.
But at the very least, it meant he could sit outside in a teeshirt.
Which was exactly what he was doing at the current moment, Ian relaxing on the beach in a pair of jeans and a red shirt, hands in his pockets as he strolled lazily around the sand. Every once in a while he would cast a glance seaward, as though trying to see if that tentacled monster was still there, but when nothing happened, he moved aimlessly along.
The pounding of footsteps drawing nearer indicated someone coming nearer. Ian turned his head just in time -
- and at the same time not quickly enough, and really he should have been paying more attention because he walked right into her and promptly smacked straight into whoever was running along the beach.
"Whoops."

"Thank you, but that is still sweet talking," Ariane didn't bother her hide her amusement, giving Ian a light whack on his arm, "Have you met a guy named Dakota? I think you two will get along rather well." Ian reminded her of the first time she met him... In the Sahara. Great place to meet someone new. Sun, sand, sea of bodies.
"To start out, keeping alive is important," She deadpanned, "But really, you don't have to keep yourself occupied. Often, there's something or another going on. When the portals are up again, you can also choose to go on missions, if you're really looking for something to do."

"I haven't met hardly anyone yet, other than a scant few, so no, I haven't met this 'Dakota' yet," said Ian, the smile fading, just a little bit. However, he pushed it back onto his face, determined to keep up appearances, at least just for a little while longer.
"Well," said Ian, with a glance around at the otherwise deserted beach. "It's...not that exciting right now, I'm afraid. I mean, I suppose the tentacle...thing and the fog disappearing are all very new and different, but to me it's rather...well, anticlimactic, at least compared to the ghost zombie ship."
He smiled a little. "Anything fun to do around here? Other than missions, of course."
