Everything felt…heavy. That was the first thing Clyde took notice as he slowly drifted into consciousness. There were a giant mass of memories in his mind and with that combined with the weight of a very physical body (his real body) to inhabit, everything just felt…like a strange weight. Everything felt numb, but not unfamiliar. Maybe the dullness came from having brought everything back with him. He chose to be greedy and take everything with him, so he really can’t complain. His memories as Decyl were all here and yet…As he prodded through his mind, Clyde couldn’t help feel like something wasn’t right. There weren’t many, but tiny holes seem to have formed in them. Weren’t they supposed to have all their memories back?

His train of thoughts broke as whispers slowly arisen from the silence. They were telling him something and it was giving him a headache. Would it hurt for them to be slightly louder? A whine and he tried to focus on them. They seem to be talking about having saved something, something important. They tell him he was a hero. Clyde doubted it, he was not hero material.

Silence. All the voice seems to quiet all at once as one very specific voice spoke up, "Who do you think you are?"

It jolts him into looking around, yet there is no one. Strange, he was sure… "Look at your shadow."

Startled he searched again but was met with no one. A little wary, he did as ordered.

His shadow was distorted. The notion scared him and he stepped back. “Wha—“

It slowly shifts, changing in form until the figure was no longer his. The fingers were longer, but what stood out were the robe and staff it wore and held. This shadow wasn’t his and as it solidifies, Clyde was stunned. Who? He wasn’t sure but stood frozen in place as the figure talked. As the voice mentioned, yes he had forgotten. However, has he really been escaping the truth? A pause. No, he was sure he hasn’t and he would, more than gladly, take the truth they had mentioned head on. Another pause. Oh, from what they’re saying, it seems the missing bits of his memories will come back as promised! Thank Jack. He’s mind was slowly returning to its normal thinking speed…until something happened.

A locked formed itself over his heart with chains holding it in place.

Clyde flinched and panicked as it appeared. He pulled at it but it will not come off, it was locked. It took some time before he slowed to think over what to do…and how weird it looks. It was black, covered in scratches as if someone had already tried to flee from its bounds once. There were also scratches that seem to count the days as well, or were they counting the memories that were missing? Clyde wasn’t sure. However, if it is true, they he better start looking for a way to regain them. He was about to ask the shadow some questions when he noticed they weren’t there anymore, instead, he was met with his own.

s**t, there goes his chance of getting some answers. The whispers had disappeared with the figure it seems, so now there was only silence. The only voice was his own.

What now? Where to start? He definitely has something to start this search with, but what first? The headache seems to be getting worse as he tries to decide his first steps. He got nothing.

“s**t, what do I do now?” Clyde questioned, a little lost in which direction to take. It would be nice if someone could help him. Suddenly, he laughed. Someone to help him…maybe? He thought of the people he met in that other world. His friend, the girl with no voice. Maybe he would meet her here? Or maybe he will meet Finale too! That would be splendid. Maybe the three of them can work together again, and figure out a way to regain their memories.

Maybe all the people he had met would be here.

He wants to meet them all, bond with them, and over his currently forgotten ones, find and create more that he could hold. Memories that could help shape him. Ones that could possibly overwrite the old ones, the ones he would have liked to forget but couldn’t. Maybe he’ll learn to finally let go of all the burden that he should really let go of.

One day.

For now, Clyde has decided that he should just enjoy his life. Normality doesn’t seem like something the school provides, but it’s what makes this place so interesting and fun. Until the next adventure, he will just take some time to enjoy the shenanigans of school life and relax as much as he can.

He was back, and it was a nice feeling.
